He didnt draw until AFTER the tires spun momentarily as she pressed the gas to move forward. Her reverse lights were off and the tires were still straight towards him as he's drawing his weapon.

We will have to agree to disagree. I see him drawing before she ever puts the car in drive. I will say the NYT analysis in post #484 supports my stance.

While doing that, have someone yell "get out of here" as another burly masked yells "stop" while both aim guns at you and reach in through the window to grab you. Point is, her car was a danger to no one until after he murdered her.

In the video I saw, none of the officers aimed weapons at her until she accelerated very rapidly (but...said to be beyond her control).

Would anybody be so kind to compile the videos into a single post that we could link to? I’m on mobile so it’s a bit of a hassle and the videos are posted all over the place so it’s hard to know which ones we can actually refer to. Or perhaps a media thread even? It’s a bit annoying when people start claiming things and then admit that they haven’t even seen the original videos.

And would you expect to them to try to open your car door and forcibly remove you from your vehicle? Or shoot you multiple times in point blank range? Is that how you would expect that situation to be handled?

Objectively, no I would not want my situation handled like that (and I have said that multiple times in this thread).

Likewise, objectively, I would also consider the totality of my actions to be badly thought out and placing my self at risk.

Though I have participated in many protests, doing what she chose to do would make me leery about a bad outcome. I would definitely advise friends and family not to follow her lead.

Another thought.

How was Ms. Good supposed to know the people surrounding her vehicle were "LE"? None of them identified themselves as such or displayed a badge as far as I can see.

If I saw some masked guy running toward me and yelling for me to get the eff out of my car, I too would attempt to drive away as fast as possible.

I seriously am disappointed that no state in the US is vigorously enforcing that ICE must display badges and follow protocols for things like gun use, searches and arrests that other LE must follow. Some states have taken some measures, but not have aggressively policed ICE in their states.

So many people here are saying Americans must instantly obey these masked, plainclothed, ID-less, half-trained heavies if you don't want to be shot three times in the face and have your fellow citizens say you deserved it for not being obedient enough.

I think it’s much easier for some people to try to justify this woman’s shooting than it is for them to admit to themselves we have a problem in our country with poorly vetted, poorly trained federal agents who are both acting and being treated as though they are above the law. Because admitting that is scary.

ETA: the evidence in totality is clear to me. There are at least two other cases this year where ICE accused civilians of ‘ramming’ them with their vehicles and shot the civilians. Both cases have been dropped against the civilians due to lack of evidence. The ‘they were weaponizing their vehicle’ is a convenient lie for ICE - they just hope no one will remember the case by the time charges are dropped.

Secondly, the victim was filmed waving officers around her car, and one officer does travel around her car. She was not obstructing the roadway. She did not ram the agent who drove in front of her vehicle. If her intent was to hurt ICE agents, that would have been a prime opportunity.

Just so you’re aware, I’m not defending them. But it’s a deadly weapon. Do you think they were concerned she was going to ram into him? It was a split second reaction?

Very concerning that they don’t seem to have training and are so trigger happy.

Ms. Good, a mother of 3, was not using her car as a weapon in any way, shape or form.

If she were, shooting the driver is not what one does. Dead people don't stop cars.

A second car stopped. I have a feeling that if I were to position my car perpendicular to traffic and then creep towards other cars in other lanes, the local police would consider me to be blocking a street.

They are covering their faces and not displaying badges/ID making ID impossible, even with numerous incidences of imposters.

Ironically, it's the people who are now expected to always have ID/proof of citizenship.
