The government had charged Parias with assault, saying that he used his car as a “weapon” to ram two law enforcement vehicles. But in video footage leading up to Parias’s shooting, reviewed by the LA Times, Parias’s car did not appear to be moving. The footage shows him asking officers why he is being detained, and an officer threatening to shoot Parias if he doesn’t get out.

Joe Public doesn’t know their operational plan, intelligence, needed manpower, or risk assessment. Ms. Goode did not either and obstructed a roadway, did not listen to prior commands to leave. The timeline leading up to this event also matters. IMO

They didn't allow EMS to approach her. There was a doctor on-scene and they refused to let him see her to even check for a pulse.

I would not be surprised if a wide variety of Homo Sapiens (white, back, men and women etc) in a wide variety of different police confrontations have given alot of impulsive and badly thought out commands to partners.

Such an impulsive and badly thought out command could well include "Drive baby drive" made by a person who had already challenged officers to come at her.

I was referring to the assertion that she weaponized her vehicle. She did not. The video shows it very clearly. She was trying to leave the scene, not weaponize her video.

Actual LE, not ICE obviously as we now know, does know how to do CPR and are required to do so - and also call for assistance but do CPR until EMS arrive on scene. No one rendered aid to the victim and ICE refused assistance from anyone else.

I’ve watched several videos and frame by frames. Stayed away from online commentary. Letting her leave was not a safe option. She was not complying with commands and once she used her vehicle in a way that created an immediate threat, the situation changed. LE are not required to step aside and hope no one gets hurt. The agent had seconds to act to protect himself and others (not just LE, bystanders on the road too) and the risk did not disappear because she was trying to leave. The impacts were from the drivers side front windshield. This was justified based on what I have seen so far. All my opinion.

I've watched several videos frame by frame as well.
Actually, if they let her leave it would have been the safest option. No one would have been hurt or killed. IMO.
The interaction between ICE and the victim was very, very short, and then she decided to move on. It seems they got their shorts in a knot and decided that that was worth killing her over. Law enforcement officers are normally better trained than that. Police officers don't shoot someone who is 'moving on'. They are thrilled when someone moves on. Again, JMO.

A crime scene where the shooter didn't bother to render care and left the scene That crime scene you mean?

I believe it's been widely reported that agents carried Good to EMTs when they arrived.

The reports I saw said EMT arrived on foot. The agents couldn't have cared less as was shown in the video when he called her a " " and walked away care free.

Then maybe there shouldn’t have been 5 agents with conflicting commands? They should be working together? So the first one says to get out of here which she was clearly doing, that means the others should follow suit on the first agents command and let her continue to leave.

I struggle to see the purpose of any ICE at that location.The victim was a citizen. Local LE didn't ask for ICE at that location. These are public funds being spent to take unnecessary and dangerous actions on the street.

I'm sure there are legitimate purposes for ICE somewhere, but the agents need to be trained and in control of their emotions. They need to be deployed where they are needed, and they need to learn how to do their jobs, even if there are people around filming them and exercising their constitutional right to express that this is not what they want to see done with their tax dollars.

Three children lost their mother-one of whom had already lost his father. And I did not see one law broken by non-ICE agents.

Nothing was gained; Renee Good was lost.

OK, I can understand that but how was it not secure? People were shouting but that was it, right? A civilian Physician was willing to help!

How was the scene not secure? Were there other 'shooters' running about? Oh, yeah, there weren't ANY shooters and none of the protesters seemed physically aggressive. People weren't bearing weapons; they weren't throwing things. If this is how ICE (who don't wear any distinguishing badges and aren't clearly identified as official) acts during mild protests, what could happen in the future?
They 'took out' a woman who wasn't doing anything extreme. MOO. And then they wouldn't let anyone give her aid.

Except, they do all the time in life and death situations. If the agent is too incompetent to render aid, then medical personnel will. This happens in DUI accidents, mass shootings, etc. It may be a crime scene, but it's also life and death and I have yet to see one other instance of a doctor being denied access to check a pulse on a victim who is shot or gravely injured. If you have, please provide a link.

I fully agree with you.

I don't think she was intending to hit officers, nor do I believe the other protester's command to "Drive baby, drive." was a directive to weaponize the car.

Rather, I think it was an impulsive and poorly thought out order by somebody being "In the moment". I wish the driver had not taken it to heart in the way she did.

If she’s actively depressing the brake, what makes you think her body wouldn’t relax after being incapacitated? Why would her foot stay with full pressure on the brake? It makes more sense to me that after losing consciousness, her body relaxed and she stopped pressing the brake.

Years ago, my sister was so drunk that she passed out at a traffic light with foot on brake. Luckily, it remained that way until police showed up as she had a baby in backseat, I’m pretty sure she was relaxed.
