Aw, bless, look at those B grade bank robbers from central casting.

I disagree. That argument relies on hindsight and assumptions. LE is not required to guess speed, step back perfectly, assume tire angles, wheel position or speculate about overall intent in real time. The 4000 + vechicle driven by Ms. Good backed up (she ignores commands to exit her vehicle. She should have left earlier but made the choice to park perpendicular in the road to obstruct) , then accelerated her vehicle coming in contact with the federal agent. IMO that is a deadly threat in that moment. Use of force is judged at the instant it occurs, not later by slow motion replay or armchair “he could have stepped aside” theories or calling it a big “no no” ignores, IMO, how self defense law and real world dynamics work.
I would never encourage anyone to act in the way Ms. Good did that day. If you oppose US Immigration policy , protest where the policy is made , such as the White House , or with lawmakers , not in the middle of an active federal LE operation . It’s insanely dangerous . You are putting your own life at risk and endangering everyone around you , including LE and bystanders.
Respectfully, all my opinion.
They should be able to gauge speed somewhat. Come on Dude. He was in no danger and his own cell phone video proved that.I disagree. That argument relies on hindsight and assumptions. Anyone can protest from a distance. If she had been a block or even half a block away, not blocking the street with her car this wouldn't have happened. That's what I mean by "in the middle".
Everyone has a right to protest. No one has a right to impede or obstruct law enforcement operations.
His cell phone footage does not show this. He parks his car (blocking Renee’s Good car from being able to pull straight out). He gets out and walks around her car, videos her license plate. He has video of her face. A well trained police officer would have just left the scene at that point - he has her face and her license plate number, he can easily look up her identity on his computer. If he wants to charge her for the misdemeanor civil infraction of obstruction, he has all the info he needs for that. The video the agent shot with his phone. Watch his position and the position of the car. The car is moving. He is not. He is standing toward the passengers side. When the car turns to point at him he takes a couple steps to the driver's side to get out of the way and she accelerates.
That's why people should continue to question if this was ok.I suspect the ICE agent(s) in this case will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
And why shouldn't she leave? They initially told her to. She's a US citizen, they have zero authority to detain her.Yes, and from the video, it appears one officer tells her to leave as another begins yanking on her door. These officers seem disorganized and that may have confused the driver. I don’t believe Tricia McLaughlin that she ‘weaponized her vehicle’ - I saw the video myself. She was trying to leave. What a mess.
Nationwide protests with hundreds of thousands because this won't be swept under the rug. JMOI suspect the ICE agent(s) in this case will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
She was instructed to get out of the car!
What's the excuse for Ross? He was customs and border patrol for 10 years and former military, served combat in Iraq. Also served for National Guard. Far from inexperienced. ICE officer in shooting was Iraq vet, ex-Border Patrol![]()
Almost anyone can be an ICE agent now. That's a problem. | Opinion
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are racing to hire 10,000 agents, lowering standards and training for recruits.www.usatoday.com
“Traditionally, ICE recruits deploy after a four-month training course covering immigration and constitutional law, firearms and driving. But these protocols are changing amid a historic deportation surge and scramble to hire officers.
Controversy over the new recruitment approach flared after NBC News reported that some ICE recruits reached the training academy before fingerprinting, drug tests or background checks were completed.
Authorities have also cut academy time for recruits without prior law enforcement experience, from 16 to eight weeks.”
Not necessarily. Another agent had his arm in her window. If your perspective were correct, wouldn’t the most rational move be for Ross to simply get out of the way?
They probably won't have time to catch their breath before the next act of protest is warranted.Nationwide protests with hundreds of thousands because this won't be swept under the rug. JMO

But instead he continues walking around her car. He moves his phone to his non dominant hand - why would he do this? Law enforcement is taught not to walk in front of a running vehicle and is also taught the proper way to approach a vehicle, so why did he do that? I think we ALL know it can be a danger to walk in front of a running vehicle - we teach our kids about this danger from a young age. But obviously Officer Ross did not feel like he was in danger because he chooses to do this, despite knowing it can be a risk. In his video, it’s very clear he saw Renee Good turning her wheel all the way to the right, so that she can pull out and go around his vehicle. He has absolutely zero need to draw his weapon and shoot her, she was leaving the scene and he knew that. MOO.
Very well said. Thank you.
So, wait, the best way to provide safety to the agent holding his arm in the vehicle was to shoot into said vehicle? Making the vehicle move uncontrollably because dead/dying people are notoriously bad at controlling anything, AND putting the agent in question at risk of a direct hit or a ricochet? Not necessarily. Another agent had his arm in her window.
You are so right. They told her to leave, and she was. Then he jumps in and tells her to get out of the car. Which is she supposed to do? She was doomed when they were making conflicting orders. I would have continued to try to leave. And why shouldn't she leave? They initially told her to. She's a US citizen, they have zero authority to detain her.
The thing is, If this case was to get inside of a court room with a jury and they showed all angles of the footage, the ice agent would be scoffing down ramen for the next 10/20, that's why the white house and other government cronies have pulled rank on the relevant people, kicking out the state (which we all know the current government can't stand because they're tHe w0kE OtHeR SiDe) and getting the feds to "investigate" this murder so that it gets nowhere near a court house. They're also doing their damnedest to control the narrative by any means necessary, including slandering the victim all over the place (I'm sure some will have seen the bullpoo verified fake rumours) justttttt incase the feds decide to step out of line and put a criminal case on - to attempt to brainwash potential jurors.Nothing about this case is funny. Hopefully he'll be charged for the crime he committed, then attorneys will construct their case. This would come into play regarding how he viewed other races/genders, etc. and motive. One of many components. jmo
