Unfortunately, this elaborate scheme only furthers the "mentally ill" angle. I have read so many stories about this, but what sane person would concoct a story about being pregnant (with twins!), claim to have lost one (!), stalked a pregnant woman, then strangled her, cut the baby out, taken it 40 miles away, called her husband and said she had just delivered the baby, and figured no one would get it?luvbeaches said:Of course she would! Does Whineywoman have any clients? She's certainly on TV a lot these days.
You have to be off your rocker to a certain extent to even commit a crime (especially something like this), but that does not mean you are mentally ill. Desperate people, do desperate things. For someone who was "mentally ill," according to Whineytrap, this Montgomery woman sure had an elaborate scheme going.
kk's mom - the question has been asked by several. There was an interview with their Pastor as well who asked why she was so small and she said she had always had small babies. There are a total of 7 children in the Montgomery household, all teenagers, I believe there are three from Mr. Montgomery's first marriage and 4 from Lisa Mongomery's first marriage (Boman), they have none from their marriage, perhaps the motivation.kk's mom said:I don't know if anyone has asked this question because I've just started reading up on this horrible crime, but how could this woman's husband not know she wasn't pregnant? Wouldn't he have noticed anything? Do they have other children? I'm not saying he's involved, but I don't get the thing where he said he didn't know she wasn't pregnant.
This picture of this Montgomery woman looks scarey.
There was no plea yesterday, the hearing was to present the charges against her. She was appointed two public defenders, one from KC, Charles Dedmon and one from Topeka. There was no pleading however he legal counsel refused to waive the rights to a preliminary hearing, the US Attourney requested she be held without bail.englishleigh said:Bobbie Jo's funeral:

Does anyone know if Lisa Montgomery entered a plea yesterday and what it was? I'm assuming "not guilty" even though she confessed...this is one case I plan to get obsessed with and see all the way through...I want this witch fried for this!!!

There will be an identitiy hearing Thursday (23rd) and a preliminary hearing. From that we will learn where she will be tried (MO I suspect) and where she will be held. Thursday's proceedings begin at 9 am CST.

Or it could be really, really premeditated.....
englishleigh - I will be following this case very closely - for some reason it has really struck a chord with me. I will do my best to keep information posted about this case. I believe this case will go to trial fairly soon. I am sure there will be a considerable amount of time spent on phsyc evaluations by the defense in this case but I have this feeling that as soon as the investigation will allow it, it will be presented. I'm pretty sure the defense will be related to mental issues but in MO with all the obvious planning she conducted prior to the act I doubt it will fly.englishleigh said:Thanks, RC. I assume you are in the Springfield area? Beautiful area. I went there about 14 years ago at Christmas and it was my first White Christmas ever.
Thank you so much for the info. Please keep us all posted. Maybe in time a forum for this case should be opened...I hope this goes to trial fairly quickly. This case has really hit me hard. Just looking at Bobbie Jo's doggie website and all the photos with her little comments is just haunting. She seems to have been a sweetheart and very, very smart about the dogs she bred and raised. She would have been a wonderful mother. This is a huge, huge loss.

Yes I am in the Springfield area and I agree it is a beautiful area ! FWIW, we are being told to expect 4 to 6 inches of snow this evening into the morning. Time to take a nap soon so we can go riding during the snowfall... your post reminds me of a young man who came from Jamaca to train with us - he had never seen snow either and it was really fun to watch him - we all saddled up and went for a long ride - he even video taped it - how funny !
