Fox 4 says...

Mongomery kept her head down during court today. The baby is now home with the father.

Her prelim hearing is Thursday, at 9:00 in the morning.

Ex-hubby says Montgomery lied about two pregnancies in the past. More on the 10:00 news.

Many people in the dog breeding community did not trust Montgomery. This comes from "Nancy" who is involved with the same puppies.

I really hate when these news channels give you little "teasers" and expect you to come back an hour later to hear the rest of the story....

Jayne Whineytrap is on Greta now - UGH! Thinks she is mentally ill.

Of course she would! Does Whineywoman have any clients? She's certainly on TV a lot these days.

You have to be off your rocker to a certain extent to even commit a crime (especially something like this), but that does not mean you are mentally ill. Desperate people, do desperate things. For someone who was "mentally ill," according to Whineytrap, this Montgomery woman sure had an elaborate scheme going.

Unfortunately, this elaborate scheme only furthers the "mentally ill" angle. I have read so many stories about this, but what sane person would concoct a story about being pregnant (with twins!), claim to have lost one (!), stalked a pregnant woman, then strangled her, cut the baby out, taken it 40 miles away, called her husband and said she had just delivered the baby, and figured no one would get it?

Or it could be really, really premeditated.....

It was really, really premeditated....IMO.

Wonder what is going through this woman's head now?? Is she sorry she did this, or sorry she got caught?? Does she have any remorse at all for killing this poor girl, who was friendly and kind to her? I still can't believe this happened.

Bobbie Jo's funeral is starting right now in Skidmore, MO.

I don't know if anyone has asked this question because I've just started reading up on this horrible crime, but how could this woman's husband not know she wasn't pregnant? Wouldn't he have noticed anything? Do they have other children? I'm not saying he's involved, but I don't get the thing where he said he didn't know she wasn't pregnant.

This picture of this Montgomery woman looks scarey.

kk's mom - the question has been asked by several. There was an interview with their Pastor as well who asked why she was so small and she said she had always had small babies. There are a total of 7 children in the Montgomery household, all teenagers, I believe there are three from Mr. Montgomery's first marriage and 4 from Lisa Mongomery's first marriage (Boman), they have none from their marriage, perhaps the motivation.

I also feel really sorry for Kevin Montgomery...I don't think he knew anything about this and was duped into thinking his wife was really pregnant...some men know nothing about women's issues and he may have been one of those gullible types who just believes everything told to him....his life has been destroyed by this, as well.

Does anyone know if Lisa Montgomery entered a plea yesterday and what it was? I'm assuming "not guilty" even though she confessed...this is one case I plan to get obsessed with and see all the way through...I want this witch fried for this!!!
There was no plea yesterday, the hearing was to present the charges against her. She was appointed two public defenders, one from KC, Charles Dedmon and one from Topeka. There was no pleading however he legal counsel refused to waive the rights to a preliminary hearing, the US Attourney requested she be held without bail.

There will be an identitiy hearing Thursday (23rd) and a preliminary hearing. From that we will learn where she will be tried (MO I suspect) and where she will be held. Thursday's proceedings begin at 9 am CST.

Thanks, RC. I assume you are in the Springfield area? Beautiful area. I went there about 14 years ago at Christmas and it was my first White Christmas ever.
Thank you so much for the info. Please keep us all posted. Maybe in time a forum for this case should be opened...I hope this goes to trial fairly quickly. This case has really hit me hard. Just looking at Bobbie Jo's doggie website and all the photos with her little comments is just haunting. She seems to have been a sweetheart and very, very smart about the dogs she bred and raised. She would have been a wonderful mother. This is a huge, huge loss.

It will be interesting to see which way this goes. That was the first question I asked myself was...how did she think no one would get it?

englishleigh - I will be following this case very closely - for some reason it has really struck a chord with me. I will do my best to keep information posted about this case. I believe this case will go to trial fairly soon. I am sure there will be a considerable amount of time spent on phsyc evaluations by the defense in this case but I have this feeling that as soon as the investigation will allow it, it will be presented. I'm pretty sure the defense will be related to mental issues but in MO with all the obvious planning she conducted prior to the act I doubt it will fly.

Yes I am in the Springfield area and I agree it is a beautiful area ! FWIW, we are being told to expect 4 to 6 inches of snow this evening into the morning. Time to take a nap soon so we can go riding during the snowfall... your post reminds me of a young man who came from Jamaca to train with us - he had never seen snow either and it was really fun to watch him - we all saddled up and went for a long ride - he even video taped it - how funny !

I think b/c it's a federal case it will go pretty quickly...those don't tend to get hung up for months and months and years. I hope we get to see a photo of Baby Victoria sooner or later, but if Zeb keeps her image away from the media it would probably be the best thing and I wouldn't blame him one bit. Thanks for following this case and keeping us updated. It has struck a chord with me, too. I think b/c of the message board thing and the two of them corresponding online, all the while this evil hag was planning this. BJS was the perfect victim...sweet and trusting and innocent. She had the most beautiful eyes...those eyes will haunt me for a long time.
It wasn't the first time I'd seen snow, but the first time I'd seen so much of it and at Christmas, to boot. I live in the Deep South and we always hope here just to see an inch or two...it's been 3 years now since we've had any!!
:boohoo: I am such a snow freak!!
