If LE thinks that the items were planted in the field why do they think the perp would be stupid enough to leave a DNA trail? To me that sounds like someone who is confident or cocky, probably not a first time offender. JMO

In that video the police chief said that they found some items of interest and now they've got an odor that they detected.

First I've heard of the odor. I wonder if the odor was detected by the SAR dogs or the cadaver dogs...

I heard that to. But had to rewind and listen and rewind and listen. Did he say odor??? I was in shock. TY... I did not want to say anything.

Finding evidence of any type is helpful in their continued investigation and hunt for this gorgeous little girl though. I'm a bit more hopeful by that news and pray that today is the day she is reunited with her family!

Isn't a "scent trail" a term they would usually use when refering to search dogs? Maybe I am reading to much into it but when I heard that I instantly thought of something that LE could actually smell themselves. Lets hope thats not the case!

The discouraging part is the SO's in that area.....and the odor. I too wonder if it's the cadaver dogs vs. the SAR dogs that discovered it. And where have they followed it to?

I am wondering if the comments yesterday about the items being a negative sign may be the odor, as it could have been picked up by cadaver dogs.

I sure hope I'm wrong though.

With regard to items that could hold DNA, the ribbons could have hair wrapped in them, the training wheels could have scraped against her legs, depositing cells in the grooves, etc. Just about any item that has touched a person can have DNA on it in various forms.

I wished the reporter would have said ...ODOR? But she said nothing. Unless of course she did and edited it out.

Since they found evidence on Tuesday night and put a rush on it, I wonder if they will hear anything today since they said it would take 2 days for the DNA.

My stomach is in knots. I'm glad i'm off today.

Praying for Breeann.

I wonder if we could find the entire interview online.

Just watched the video from Today and here's what's said:

Q: Why this particular area?

A (snipped): We got some items of interest and now we got an odor that we detected.

I think what's happened is that the items were found and now the dogs have found a scent in the area. JMO

Thanks, but were they SAR dogs or cadaver dogs? I am guessing since he said odor, instead of scent, that it was the cadaver dogs that picked it up, which makes me sad. I realize that out in the country there could be all sorts of dead odors and I pray that they are not due to Breeann.

Maybe we can ask Sarx or Oriah and see if they know... BRB..

The reporter said that the dogs were cadaver dogs. :(

The parents out searching the area where the items were found yesterday. Anyone hear if LE brought them there or they went on their own? Isn't it unusual to bring parents to search an area where possible items of interest are found? Last thing they would want is for a parent to be the first to come across their deceased (hopefully not the case here) child.

I would think it very unusual, unless there was a strong hope that she was alive and would respond to her parents' voices.

I am getting so many mixed signals from this case. I would hope that LE would not permit the parents into the search area, if the cadaver dogs picked up an odor. I would really really hope they would not do that. It's so confusing!

When I heard "...we got an odor that we detected", my thought was that LE could smell something. Could very well be the dog(s) though. Hoping it's a dead animal.

Could be, but the possibility of evidence being mucked up. Parents out searching an area where cadaver dogs are also searching? I can't understand it. I wish LE would give us a little something.

ITA. I also find it strange to allow the parents at the search area. At first I thought they brought them there to look at the evidence that day but the parents said they weren't told what they found, so I'm confused. Ya know they could be involved in her disappearance, not saying they are though but they could be.

Edgar Rodriguez and Claudia Ramos, parents of missing 3-year-old Breeann Rodriguez, search a grassy lot where items of interest were found on Tuesay afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Hmmmmmm It is Odd....

Digital billboards are now displaying Breeann’s picture in the following areas:
■ Kingshighway and Broadway (Cape Girardeau, MO)
■2418 South Caraway (Jonesboro, AR)
■2610 E. Highland Drive (Jonesboro, AR)
■2412 Stadium Boulevard (Jonesboro, AR)

Anybody know why they would be set up in these areas?
