Well, that makes a lot of sense. He tells a reporter that they are "cleared" but the dad says they failed the lie detector tests. Can both be true? Perhaps so. They could be "cleared" yet also answer deceptively, I suppose. As if that is not confusing enough, we have Karnes saying he doesn't think the training wheels came from Breeann's bike. We have two different stories on two different parts of the case. Let me pound my head on the table for awhile.

Which makes me have nagging concerns of this group of LE...hope they know what they're doing and haven't bumbled this investigation already.:banghead:

The FBI has the bike noted as 'similar' to Breeann's- I don't believe it is identical:

http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/breeann-rodriguez/view

I know, that's what's confusing. How is it similar? Is it the same colors, but a different brand/model? Is the same brand and model, but different colors? Is it a 16", which is what this color/make/model comes in, but seems a bit big for a 3yo, or is a 10-12"?

So frustrating and confusing!

Well, I would hope anyone in the general area who spotted a child's bike would call LE, just in case. Just as I am sure LE will get plenty of tips on possible sightings of Breeann, they will have to deal with ones about the bike, and sort if out from there.

I am just getting the feeling that this field they have been searching is not going to lead them anywhere.

And yet... we have no description of the text. No description of graphics.
Despite finding a bike exactly like it over by the Aunt's... we have no "this bike is just like Breeann's."
All we have is this:

http://www.dddnews.com/story/1752744.html

"Authorities said that anyone who comes across a pink and purple bicycle should contact authorities."

If you say "pink and purple bicycle" I am going to watch for a pink and purple bicycle.
I am not going to watch for a pink, purple, orange/brown bicycle with tropical looking flowers and Huffy and Sea Star written on it.

Exactly! Why look for a bike that has the colors all wrong when there MUST be a photo of the actual bike out there on the internet somewhere. Someone also posted that the bike is a 16 or 18 inch. Isn't this a little large for a 3 year old girl? I mean most bikes for that age are 10" or 12".

Also they stated the Training wheels found were white and Black, the ones on that bike are all White....

Perhaps that is why they are stating that the bike pic is similar to BR's bike, the difference being the colour of her training wheels.

This whole thing about the dad and LE disagreeing about what the wheels even look like is bizarre...

Is it possible that LE is withholding information on the bike, and has instructed the family to do so as well? Perhaps so that with calls/tips coming in they can sort of screen them for info on the bike and know if the tip is genuine? I know in other cases they do withhold certain info, although in this case I can't see why they would regarding the bike. Unless...... maybe they think the bike is the most crucial clue they have to go on?

Also... what was she wearing exactly??? I have read pink shirt and blue shorts. I have read pink shorts and blue shirt. And then on an ABC link it states pink shirt and pink and purple pants!! What WAS she wearing?

I am trying to figure out as to why someone would take the bike but leave training wheels? Could they even fall off the bike or would someone actually have to remove them?

IMO the van may be misleading. It is my opinion that the training wheels were removed in order that the bike could fit easily in a trunk. Can't imagine another reason why they would have been removed and dumped.

I thought so, but someone pointed out that the 16" is for 4-6yo and tha tmaybe they bought that size so she wouldn't outgrow it too quickly. We bought my daughter a 10" for her 3rd birthday.

I know.
Considering both info from NCMEC and the FBI, it seems the similarity is that it is pink, and has training wheels. No more, no less. :banghead:

We bought our daughter a 16" for her 4th birthday this summer. I remember a friend buying her daughter a 16" when she was about 3 b/c it was at a yard sale and cheap. I thought at the time it was huge for her, as our son had a 12" at that age.

I guess it would be possible for Breeann to ride a 16" but it would probably not be the "correct size", kwim?

Breeann is 3 years 8 months old. Can I assume she's potty trained and out of diapers? I think most likely, but it's been awhile since I had kiddos that age.

Hold on... they did say in one news report that the training wheels are black and white! I just remembered reading that myself. I think I figured out how to link things, let me give it a try. (I hope it works)

"The white and black training wheels are now at the state crime lab. Police Chief Omar Karnes said they aren't sure if the training wheels are from Breeann's bicycle, but they aren't ruling it out."

My 4yo was pee trained at 3y5m and poop trained at 4y. My niece who is the same age as Breeann has been pee trained for 10m, but is still not poop trained. All kids vary, but most likely yes, at least pee trained.

 Sorry......................Going to Eye Doctor to get new glasses...!!!!!

I assume we still don't have any locals, but I was thinking about this last night. How many kid's bikes are there in the area? In one version we were led to believe the place was crawling with kids, which may mean there is lots of kids bikes. Would it be odd for a kid's bike to be laying out by the sidewalk for example?

Last night we walked 1 mile and saw 5 small (16" and smaller) kid's bikes that we had to walk around... on the sidewalk or in the street. 3 were pink and/or purple. None looked enough like this one to be mistaken for it. 2 of them were also there the last 3 nights we went for our walk.

I can understand withholding information... but I think it is preventing tips from being called in. If I lived there, I wouldn't call in the tip about these bikes in my area... because I wouldn't have a clue what they were looking for.

I would not call in several bikes and waste their time without something more specific. If I see it in a canal or the garbage, yes. But if you were smart you could just leave it on a sidewalk.

If they don't want to be specific, then they need to emphasize that the bike is still very important and if anyone sees one abandoned anywhere to please call. The lack of emphasis on the bike makes me think they know it isn't important... or isn't going to be found with Breeann...

Yes, here is the stock photo of the bike...
