There it is. If he didn't have any "prior convictions" he would have stated so. Up thread where someone said there were two other "crimes" but it didn't state what they were - well, I'm willling to go out on a limb here and say I betcha they were "sex crimes".

I think they didn't say anything else about the details of the crime because they haven't recovered her yet. There still should be evidence.

JMO

It certainly would make a lot more sense *if* he has prior sex crimes on his record, as there doesn't appear to be any other logical reason for abducting and killing her, especially as he is a father himself.

Morgan was quietly arrested around 11 p.m. Friday, said Debra Miller, who lives across the street and learned from someone else that her decade-long neighbor had been taken into police custody.

yes, they have been local for at least a decade.

There was comment on one of the local forums, Topix IIRC, by someone who went to high school with the perp. Said he graduated in 1986, was very shy, but likeable.

Caylee, Haleigh, Mariah and now, Breeann....these are just a few of the many sweet baby girls who are gone too soon. And, just as many precious boys. It's horrible. These little innocents should have been cherished and protected. Instead, they were killed.

ok...who is going to start first with an apology to her parents for what was said about them. Hopefully, they will not come here and read any of it!

I don't know if anyone else has yet as I haven't got that far on the thread. However, I will certainly apologize. I never stated I believed they did it, but I did question certain things about Breeann's mother. And for that I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart! I am terribly sorry for what I thought, and for what the whole family is going through.

Prayers and condolences to everyone who loved Breeann, especially her family who loved her ever so much. Heartfelt prayers for the family of this despicable excuse for a man. He has also caused irreparable damage to their lives and they should also be considered victims of this crime.

Rest in eternal perfection, sweet Breeann, may the angels lead you in.

Parents, PLEASE take care of your children! This child should never have been left alone outside to play...or left with a 5 year old to watch her.

Not excusing what this man did, but if she hadn't been left alone, he wouldn't have had the opportunity.

I can't find any fault with the parents with what we know. He very easily could have stolen her from her bed...it's been known to happen and more than once. I don't believe it's realistic to be with our children every second anyway and it appears he had a very small window of opportunity and took it. Sheltering our children keeps them innocent to the dangers out there. I think stranger danger is much more affective. If we are with our kids every waking moment they will be the trusting teens that are kidnapped at the mall or after school and I also believe that more sheltered children are the ones who do the more dangerous things as they get older.

First degree murder???? This is an outrage. I'm so upset and angry about this. This was no accident then, she wasn't accidentally knocked over with a truck or car. He did something to her, he planned it and did it and killed her.

Amen. The one (sorta) consolation in Breeann's situation is that they are fairly certain of her fate and have a suspect. With Haleigh, Hailey, little Joshua, and many others (like Holly Bobo), the leads have all but stopped. I was so afraid that we would be checking this thread in 2-3 years for updates. But it looks like that may not be the case and there will be resolution.

:praying:

I would too. Unfortunately, not all people feel the same way.
A good friend of mine believes in the whole "free range children" concept. She feels it is not an epidemic and tells me only 1% or 2% of children in the US go missing and are killed and that the media tries to instill fear in us all. She allows her kids to bike the huge housing development area (they're 6 and 9) unsupervised.
She tells me, SHE did it her whole childhood and she's not going to cage her kids :(
If "caging" my son means he won't be exposed to a tragedy like this, I'll do it tomorrow!

I wish Breeann wasn't out alone for a minute....

I totally agree! In my small town ( less than 1000 people) there was an attempted abduction of a child right before school let out for the year. During the same week a man was reported by a bus driver for watching children while they waited for the bus. Fast forward 2 weeks, I spotted a man in a car watching children play at the local park. I asked him what he was doing and he got pizzed and left ( I gave local LE his plate number and car make). After returning to the group of mothers, two of them thought I was overreacting because "no way was anything bad going to happen in our little town". It frightens me to think the evil monsters in our world are being helped by parents who think bad things only happen somewhere else and to someone else.

RIP, Breeann! I was hoping against everything she would be returned home safely.

Well....I certainly WILL question why a 3 yr. old was out and about with only a 5 yr. old to supervise her. TOTALLY irresponsible for the mom or both mom and dad to allow that situation and unfair to put that responsibility on a 5 yr. old. Infuriating! Why make it easy for the creeps to grab your baby?? (not you....the lazy parents) :banghead:

Many will say the parents have paid the ultimate price for their mistake, irresponsibility, ignorance, laziness....whatever....but, I disagree! Their baby paid that price. She's dead.

These are really the scariest of all. Just a neighbor. No long record, not a registered SO, not family, just there. He could be anyone's neighbor.

Dh and I were just looking at his pic and discussing what an average looking Joe he is. Very scarey indeed!

He doesn't seem to have a criminal record in Missouri...maybe in another state, but not that I have seen. Does anyone know if he always lived in Missouri?

It is beyond comprehension that a married man, a father, an apparent family man, takes it into his head to kill a 3-year old. I am honestly on the edge of my seat, waiting to learn more. This is just unbelievably odd, though of course, nothing is without precedent. I do think it is unusual for a father of relatively young children to murder other children, though. I hope the whole story comes out...it is very scary to have someone considered a normal part of the neighborhood (at least so far) turn out to be a monster. While suspecting it would turn out to be someone local, if not someone they knew, I did not imagine the father of a family on the same street...maybe a visiting cousin, or ex-con...this is just so strange to me...

To add...I don't see how this was preventable, if he had it in his mind to get this little girl. He would have found a chance sooner or later...

...and was out front with her brother who came inside. At that point maybe mom should have went out with her. I have heard brother was inside for 5 minutes and 20 minutes. Like I said I do not find fault with the parents WITH WHAT WE KNOW and I am not going to lay blame or guilt on them. I am just not. Yes a 3 year old can be taught stranger danger. Especially if they are outgoing they need to be. If you disagree that is fine but please don't 'OMG' me.

According to media interviewing neighbours, he is married with 3 kids and live on Ode Johnson.

also...could you explain or provide links to this....record of thefts and such

flipflop:

I remembered some posts stating he had a record for some thefts and other infractions. I went back and found one by cluciano:

He seems to have a record of various theft-related activities, traffic, and some other things I can't quite determine...nothing much in the past 5 or so years...

There was no link provided, though, and I cannot find one, so it may not be the correct Shawn Morgan.

Regarding Morgan's family, I remember earlier articles stating that he is a resident of Senath but that he formerly lived on Ode Johnson Road. All of the articles now state that he is currently a neighbor of Breeann's family, so maybe his address was corrected. My thought had been that maybe he was separated/recently divorced from his wife and moved out (he would still be a father of three). It now seems that he was arrested at the house on Ode Johnson, so I guess he was still living there. I can't imagine, though, how his wife and children would not know what happened. They must've not been home at the time, and he must've left immediately to dispose of the body. I do hope they find her soon.

Are we absolutely sure LE got the right guy? Is there any physical evidence? I mean this guy had lived in that neighborhood for over a decade, why did he decide to act now, against Breeann? Have any other children come forward and disclosed anything about any interaction with this man? Does this man have a wife and children? If he does I'm sure they are horrified.
My heart just breaks for Breeann's parents...her Daddy's pleas just broke my heart and know I know he will never have his lil' princess back.
If Morgan is indeed responsible for Breeann's death, if he has indeed confessed, then I think they should just go ahead and stick a needle in his arm. Why waste the taxpayers money on a trial.

I made a later post that I was probably wrong about that...see above someplace:(

A thought came to my mind about how to try and protect our children. Maybe WS can design a Bumper Sticker to put on everyone's vehicles "Don't Let Our Children Walk Or Play Alone" or something like that. I would put one on my car in a "heartbeat".

Definitely, a magnet one ; )

IIRC I think an article said he worked in Arkansas. Maybe he lives on the border? Used to live in Arkansas?

I can't believe this 🤬🤬🤬 FATHER who lives on a quite cul-de-sac (near the end of it) takes a little girl on a Saturday and likely watched the parents freak out and cry over this while she may have been in his house or ?????? I can't believe this....
