Who else was involved in this and when will they be charged? There has to be at least one other person. That cabin didn’t burn itself down.

And, are there more victims? What else did police find in that freezer?

Aside from Timothy Norton, his "friend" and "roommate" (not sure how to describe their relationship)? No one else has been named by LE, but if you do a search of Registered Sex Offenders in that county and adjacent ones, you'll find several who listed the same address as place of residence. Very disturbing.

Another thing I have to say is that the Dark Web exists because like minded people are controlling it. Its like anything IMO its only going to get worst. That's why LE has to be on top of it and I'm sure they are to a certain extent when victims come forward or are somehow rescued only then do these things become general knowledge, otherwise, who knows? It is a reality unfortunately. As much as we don't want to accept it its there!
99% of the dark web isn't what you think it is. It's not some big bad boogey man. Bad stuff goes on there just like the regular internet real life too

Well, its not a breath of fresh air either. Like I said even the regular internet draws like minded people who want to be big bad bogey men. So, nothing changes. LE has to be up and aware of what goes on both the regular internet and the dark web. That's what I was stating and stand by the comment. And we all know what real life is like so I stand by what I say. These people are everywhere and its up to the person who may get involved with such persons to be aware as well as LE.

Exactly. There’s a reason it’s called the Dark web.

It will be interesting to see which witnesses the prosecution calls during Phelps trial. I wonder if he and Norton were running a sex trafficking biz. Possibly other women were victims of that and who may be able to testify about their activities.

OTOH, it's possible the prosecution is working on a plea deal from Norton and anticipates most of their case will be based on his testimony. The physical evidence they do have is damning and difficult for Phelps to deny. JMO

I beg to differ:

"What Is the Dark Web? The dark web is a layer even deeper: technically also part of the deep web (which makes it inaccessible unless you know exactly where to go), but focused on illegal activities and services. It can be pretty gruesome. Some people call it the place where humanity’s darkest side surfaces."

Description of what is found on the Dark Web:

"On the dark web, you can expect to find any and all of the following (sensitivity trigger, better scroll down if you don’t want to be appalled)"

I have not included the list of what goes on in this post, as it is graphic.

The entire article and list can be found at this link. Not for the weak of heart.
I'll just sum it up as the the lowest form of humanity.

Very interesting. Thanks, Puzzles8. Some stuff is just scammers, some serious drug trafficking, some deeply disturbing stuff similar to what happened to Cassidy Rainwater.

Reminder: Tomorrow is a pre-trial hearing for Timothy Norton. 1 pm Central Time, Dallas County, CH

Some pertinent information from this article:

Timothy Norton's next hearing will be Jan 24, 2023

James Phelps next hearing will be Jan 20, 2023

Due to some changes the prosecution made in it's charges, Norton's attorneys re-entered pleas of "not guilty" for charges of

  • First degree murder
  • Kidnapping
  • Abandonment of a corpse
Prosecution also asked for an endorsement of witnesses. The judge granted confidentiality to the witness information. It's the same as the Level 3 confidentiality approved earlier on other state evidence. It means the public won't have access to that information until the trials.

Assume this is similar to placing a "gag order" on information and evidence.

Not sure if we'll hear anything new on this case for quite a while, unless something big happens. Assume the attorneys will be preparing for trials next year.

Why are their next hearings scheduled for six months from now? Is this kind of gap normal in a legal setting?

IANAL, but it gives the attorneys on both sides time to prepare for the trial. These are death penalty cases, so care is taken by the court to make sure everything is done properly.

Going to be an interesting trial to say the least...

Yes, it will be. It would be interesting to know who the other witnesses are, but I understand why they can’t reveal that information. Those people need protection. There are likely quite a few dangerous people involved in the activities at Phelps “ranch”. They’re probably worried about those witnesses revealing info about other visitors there.

This trial is going to shake up Lebanon big time. It's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, and if they don't they know someone who does. And considering the amount of missing women and mysterious deaths up and down I-44, I can see why witnesses would want protection.

I really hope for the sake of the community they take a plea.

Agree, that would be the best option. Even if witnesses are given some form of confidentiality, etc., the word will still get around about who testified.

I hope they stay with it and he gets the death penalty.

What she must have been thinking and feeling being held in a cage drugged (probably for months) and then strangled.

She had no chance.

He must have thought no one would notice her missing - no one would care.

Sent her photo around on the dark web. Keep trophy pics on his phone.

He killed he like a wild animal / strung her body up on a gantry crane like deer meat and threw the rest of her out in the woods.

Labled the body parts he kept in a freezer (for god knows what) "7-24" - a number I know associate with Cassidy forever.

She wasn't even human in his eyes.

Then he and his best friend drove around at Walmarts looking for younger girls. Can you imagine if he wasn't caught?

Give him no mercy and let the town fall apart.

Sorry not sorry.
