CHRISTOPHER EVERETT PREUITT has been missing from Columbia, MO since 03/20/2017, after having left the Sedalia area to go camping on the Missouri River on Tadpole Island just inside Moniteau County.
SOME BELIEVED HE DROWNED IN THE RIVER, BUT HIS BODY HAS NEVER BEEN RECOVERED.
Several law enforcement agencies began searching for Chris at the Katfish Katy's property after he was reported missing on March 25. His 2000 gold Mazda 626 was found near the Missouri River close to Huntsdale, but Preuitt was nowhere around. A campsite was seen on Tadpole Island just inside Moniteau County, but after a search of the island, Preuitt was not discovered. Searchers conducted a search of Tadpole Island by foot and located more items believed to belong to Mr. Preuitt, but some areas of the island and surrounding area were covered in very thick brush and under growth making the search of those areas difficult.
Preuitt is described as being a white male, 5'6" tall, weighing about 140 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, with a possible goatee and glasses.
