State’s witness, Tom Vanderburg-a forensic investigator says Dee Dee Blanchard was dead for at least 36 hours before she was discovered. She was found face down with multiple stab wounds on her upper back. Jury receiving graphic pictures individually.

Godejohn told the interrogator that he and Gypsy took the bus to his house in Wisconsin after the murder. It’s also where they mailed the murder knife. Godejohn hid the knife in his closet at home in Wisconsin.

Godejohn told interrogator that he thought about raping Dee Dee, but changed his mind because he felt bad enough about killing her. He blames his “evil side” and “voices in his head” for killing Dee Dee. He says Gypsy also had an evil side called Ruby.

Godejohn told interrogator that Gypsy posted on Facebook about her mom being raped and killed. He says she did that to speed up the process of authorities finding her body.

COURTROOM BLOG: Follow the latest in the trial of Nicholas Godejohn

9:10 a.m. Nicholas Godejohn enters the courtroom, dressed in a white collared shirt and dress pants. Court is in session. Prosecution explains to Judge Jones their proposal to bring up sexual misconduct in the trial, regarding Godejohn's sexual relationship with co-defendant Gypsy Blanchard and his statement that he thought about raping Dee Dee Blanchard. Defense argues it's not relevant. Judge will allow testimony.

So... Holy Toledo! We all knew it was a grisly murder but hearing the details...

I'm looking forward to the expert testimony regarding Godejohn's autism. I don't know much about it other than what I learn here but it seems to me that a lot of his actions and behavior don't fit with the description of ASD that I'm finding through some quick research tonight. I dunno, I need to go and listen to what the pros have to say. Thanks for the link Jewels!

I'd also like to know what his IQ is (one psychiatrist said it is 82) and whether or not he is also diagnosed with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, which Godejohn seems to refer to when he talks about voices in his head and his "other' personality. And what medications he's on. MOO.

November 2016:
Psychologist Kent Franks of Springfield told Circuit Judge Calvin Holden at a hearing on Wednesday that he did two mental evaluations of Godejohn at the Greene County jail. He said the murder suspect thought he was doing the right thing when he killed Blancharde, because he wanted to rescue Gypsy from her mother.

Franks said Godejohn is on the autism spectrum and spent most of his time on the internet and playing video games. The psychologist described the murder suspect as more like a child than an adult. He said his IQ is 82 and he functions at the level of a 10- or 11-year-old person.

Anyhoo, this trial is more disturbing than I anticipated. The whole sex thing is creepy +10. I can't help but wonder if, aside from other medical/psychiatric conditions, if he's a psychopath. How else could someone do what he did and show no remorse other than how his crime messed up his freedom?

I don't believe autism caused him to murder nor do I believe his claimed inability to deliberate his actions was so extreme that he was merely Gypsy's puppet. I think he murdered Dee Dee because he wanted to. And I think he enjoyed it. JMO, MOO.

I think this part of the testimony will be very important. I haven't listened to any of the testimony so far just what I have read. I want to hear how the experts discuss how JG abilities portray to the murder and to Gypsy.

For the past hour, the jury has been watching surveillance video of Godejohn and Gypsy Blanchard in a hotel lobby and Greyhound bus station in Springfield days after murdering Dee Dee Blanchard. They took the bus to Godejohn’s house in Wisconsin.

Prosecution has called the DNA analyst assigned to Dee Dee Blanchard’s case to the stand. Analyst tested the murder weapon for DNA. It had Dee Dee and Godejohn’s blood on it.

Prosecution calls computer forensic analyst, Michael Costello to the stand. Costello testifies that he found a “My Dear Gypsy” folder on Godejohn’s computer that included videos of Gypsy. The 2 had different names for each other based off created personalities.
