The jury has been released. Judge Jones is now asking Nicholas Godejohn a list of questions. Godejohn tells the judge he is 29 and that he finished high school.

Thanks again Emi for following and updating! Today's testimony and the messages between Gypsy and Godejohn laid out how much planning went into Dee Dee's murder.

I'm a pretty tough cookie and usually manage to keep my emotions in check - it's the only way I can be a member and follow the horrific cases we see here. But for some reason this one has me weeping at times. I dunno, maybe it's the waste of young lives or watching Gypsy's rage unfold into an horrific act.

Today I had to rethink my feelings about Gypsy. I won't say she was justified in murdering her mother but I damn well understand how the years of living a false life twisted her. IMO it's no surprise she was drawn to S and M or a Daddy/Daughter fantasy. Like so many others we see here she was doomed early on.

Still, to see those texts...

This is the photo that is burned into my brain, the one that reminds me of the life Gypsy was forced into; her childhood was stolen from her and her future was shattered by a sick parent. Again, Dee Dee should never had been murdered - there were other ways to escape. MOO.

I so agree!!! I get what she did and why she did it but she’s an adult, no one would have made her go back once she got out. Idk. I never think murder is the only way out, unless in the immediate moment it’s a them or me thing and guess what... it’s going to be them.

Absolutely! It's looking more and more like these two had the wherewithal to come up with a list of supplies, purchase tickets, think about what to do with the murder weapon, clean up after and have an exit plan. That's a far cry from two 13-year olds acting out a fantasy.

Gypsy wanted to get out of that house, yes, but I believe she was also filled with rage and IMO that was the driving factor. Given her background 10 years was appropriate.

Godejohn OTOH has no mitigating reason for the cold-blooded stabbing of Dee Dee. 17 times! He himself said he enjoyed killing and I believe him.

9:20 - Court is in session. State Calls Detective Jordy Kropp of Waukesha County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin. He testifies he took photos as part of the search warrant at Nicholas Godejohn's house in Big Bend, Wisconsin. State shows jury pictures Detective Kropp took of the house, including a pair of white tennis shoes with what appears to be small splatters of blood.

9:45 - Pictures also show a large amount of cash found in the house, a piece of paper with the Day's Inn logo found in a jacket pocket, three women's wigs, a suitcase and a duffel bag both filled with clothing, a room key from a hotel with the word "Ozarks" on it, and a t-shirt with suspected blood spots. Photos also show a black hooded sweatshirt with suspected blood, a yellow envelope mailed from Springfield with Gypsy's home as the return address.
Defense cross examines, pointing out that the clothes with suspected blood were not cleaned, just left in a bag, and that Godejohn lived with his parents.
