Ok could they maybe have just been hopeful? Meaning wishful thinking, or they really thought that sighting had to be him?

I really wish that the MEDIA would tell these freaking parents to NOT BRING THEIR KIDS ON SEARCHES.

Seriously. One of these kids is going to find a body one day.

Going back trying to make sense of all this, from 19hours ago:

“Police Capt. Deric Heislen says Darnell Gray was last seen Wednesday night at the apartment where he lives. The boy’s father was at work when an acquaintance reported the boy missing just before 7 a.m. Thursday.”

When I saw the tweet I thought the kids were just THERE. I didn't expect that the reporter was referring TO the kid as the search volunteer. I just don't understand people.

This about sums it up. One search volunteer explains how looking for missing Darnell Gray makes him feel.

(I know, me too too, then the kid started talking about searching...! I immediately cut it off and came back here)

Sorry, don’t think so.

Just coming onto this case and already I'm confused. I saw that Darnell's stepmother announced he'd been found and right after that the sheriff said he has not been found.

I'll be following along and sleuthing but right now something stinks IMO.

Come home soon little guy...
Hi Shin Masamura- can you please provide a link for the source of the picture? TIA.

If I was there I would say something to the parents bringing their kids to search. I would say something like “thanks for trying to help but honestly this is not a place for the kids.” I really would. I wouldn’t be able to not say anything. I just wouldn’t. No matter how hard I tried.

You are way nicer than I am.

I would say "You do realize there is a very good chance that if you find anything it will be a body right? You really bring your kids out here knowing they might find a dead little boy? What is WRONG WITH YOU?"

Then again. I'm not known for my tact or gentleness.

i simply would send them off to a news crew so they could get their 15 minutes of fame and take their children home.

Young boy missing in Jefferson City

Oh, WHY did I have to click on this thread? Now that I've seen his adorable little face I'm compelled to read this entire thread. Hopefully little Darnell will have been found safe by the time I catch up. But the circumstances described in the first post do not bode well. :(:(:(

I just can’t stop thinking about this washing machine!!! Maybe when they were interviewing the women they found drugs? So then they were arrested? Is that even a place people would hide it?
