I just can’t stop thinking about this washing machine!!! Maybe when they were interviewing the women they found drugs? So then they were arrested? Is that even a place people would hide it?

How about this? Trying to wash away EVIDENCE?

Someone needs to start pleading for this little boy. If he did wander off, or was abducted, how would he feel at 15yrs old, reading about this, and not seeing anyone worried about him? Now, I don't know that I believe he is still alive, but, if you didn't know that, you would want him to know you love him, and want him back!

Bless those people that turned out to search but what a tiny number of searchers!
Where is everyone? Where is the community? Are they unaware a child is missing?
Are these just the first to arrive? I see about a dozen people at most.
This is the kind of search we see when an adult goes missing and only their family comes out to search, not at all the usual number of searchers for a 4 year old child.
What is going on here?
Where is Darnell?
:(

Yes.. I've seen that often though. People not married but still say " my husband " " my wife. . I cant get into fb details but I dont think this has been a long term relationship.

The dimples did me in. :(

He is such a cutie and every time I see his picture he seems to remind me of some type of “star-like quality”...I don’t know how to explain it other than his light really shines through in his photos and I bet he’s got an amazing personality and says some really funny things.

There is light in those eyes and smile.

It’s been more than 48 hours now and Darnell Gray is still missing. The 4-year-old was last seen at his home in Jefferson City on Wednesday night. The search continues today. @KOMUnews

I know I am repeating myself and am probably annoying, but where the hell are the parents, why don't they speak to msm? But maybe I'm being unfair, since I never been in such a situation.
Maybe they are busy 'helping with the investigation '.

Somethings are different in this case. The babysitter is called the "caregiver" in almost all MSM articles here. The term "caregiver" is usually used in medical situations as to a situation like that, IMO. Especially in a situation where apparently there was not enough "care" given to keep him from being missing.

I'm lost. We went from the stepmother saying he was found to NOT found? Has she explained, or anyone for that matter how this was reported? Did she actually say he was located or was this a misunderstanding?

<modsnip - quoted post has been removed, as well as reference to it>.

One thing that’s still unclear to me is who called 911 to report Darnell missing.

This article reports:

“Police Capt. Deric Heislen says Darnell Gray was last seen Wednesday night at the apartment where he lives. The boy’s father was at work when an acquaintance reported the boy missing just before 7 a.m. Thursday.”
Authorities search for missing 3-year-old in Missouri

I suppose maybe it was one of the women who were later seen being led out of the house in handcuffs, but that’s just a guess.

I just thought of one more thing: Do we know what time the dad left for work or when he last saw Darnell otherwise?

So not the stepmother, a fairly recent relationship. And she just wants her baby back?

This article kind of explains what happened:

“JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City and Columbia police departments said Darnell S. Gray is still missing. Their comments came shortly after Darnell's stepmother, Quatavia Laqwoun, told KOMU 8 News the boy had been found.

Laqwoun also posted on her Facebook page, saying Darnell's father was on his way to Columbia to pick him up.

Family friend Amanda Ramirez said, ‘We celebrated too early.’

Laqwoun's comment followed several reports that a boy matching Darnell's description had been found walking along Highway 63 in Columbia.

Ramirez said a boy was found, but it was unclear if it was Darnell and his father went to Columbia to see. The Jefferson City Police Department said later it was not Darnell.”

UPDATE: Police say missing boy not found, despite reports from stepmother

The following comes from FB, so if it violates the TOS, please delete. I just thought I’d post it to help clarify what appears to have happened:

Early in the evening yesterday, a man posted on FB he’d just called 911 after seeing a little boy walking by himself along Old 63. In the same post, he said the boy was wearing a black coat with fur. He also reported there were other drivers who stopped to help the boy.

As this was a public post, the word got to Darnell’s family quickly: In fact, within 13 minutes of the man posting the information, Darnell’s paternal aunt was commenting on the post, asking the gentleman if the boy was carrying a backpack, etc.

Someone asked him if the boy was African American, and the man replied he was.

So it appears this is where the confusion first started.

The man did post the boy was picked up by the Columbia PD, but to the best of my knowledge, they haven’t confirmed or denied it. It would be great if a reporter could get a comment from LE about the situation, but I don’t believe that has happened yet.

Just being around media the bit that I am, I can absolutely see how this “telephone game ” happened. Doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s a big problem in this society of instant information.
