At a news conference Tuesday, Jefferson City Police Department Lt. David Williams said the body of 4-year-old Darnell Gray was found Tuesday morning in an area that had not previously been searched.

Oh no, I just read another post where the LE stated that the search was a recovery, and now I read this. Poor darling, may he rest in peace. This just infuriates me! I pray this little darling wasn't abused or anything before he passed away.

Wow. Absolutely not.

“Foul play was not suspected until we found Darnell’s body,” Williams said.

From early on, I suspected that Darnell was killed during an act of abuse. By the Chief’s statement, it’s reasonable to surmise that his body showed obvious signs of trauma.

So sad. Yet not at all surprising given the circumstances.

While I don’t think finding this child deceased is unexpected to us, it makes it no less tragic. I am outraged, and have a heavy heart.

So much sadness this week. So much violence and sadness. Our weary world needs prayer without ceasing!

I could say a lot more, but out of respect for this solemn announcement, I will just say a prayer for his journey home; where there are loving arms to hold him in eternity.

The amount of detail given when reporting his disappearance, including the items with him, was not as good of a sign as one would hope. It makes me wonder how close to his home he was found and if that's why they aren't releasing his location.
