Trial set for man accused of abuse, plan to kill witnesses

Deonte Taylor’s trial was set for Aug. 9 on Thursday after plans for him to plead guilty to charges in the case fell through, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Taylor is charged with three counts of sodomy, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution.

Prosecutors have said Taylor, 38, was a teaching assistant with the Hazelwood School District in 2015 when he took the child out of class and sexually assaulted him. Months later, Taylor and his boyfriend conspired to murder the boy and his mother to keep them from testifying against Taylor, investigators said.

this happened in my city as well. little girl told her mom, mom and child complain to the school and the principal didnt report it. she was prosecuted too. it came to light when principal was on maternity leave, and another mom complained what her child told her.

Former St. Louis County teacher sentenced to 50 years for molesting student, hiring hitman

According to the attorney’s office, Taylor pled guilty at his sentencing hearing to conspiring to murder the victim and his mother.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A former Lusher Elementary School teacher’s aide was sentenced to 50 years in prison Thursday [June 2, 2022] for sexually abusing a 7-year-old student in his office in 2015.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said Deonte Taylor, 39, was sentenced Thursday for the following sex crimes: 15 years each for three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, and five years for knowingly exposing the victim to HIV. The sentences will run consecutively.

A St. Louis County Jury convicted Taylor of the crimes on April 21.

At Thursday’s sentencing hearing, Taylor also pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. He was sentenced to five years each on both counts, with the sentences to run consecutive and concurrent to the 50 years of sex crime sentences.
