There seems to be an unusually high number of missing people / bodies around Dixon.

Looking at Google Maps, Dixon is south-central of a triangle that forms around several interstates anchoring large cities.

Yes, there is quite a history in and around Pulaski County from "back in the day" (more like murders and mafia type stuff). It's kind of deceiving because it's very rural and in the heart of the Ozarks - kind of the good old boy mentality. However, with the military base right there, there is an awful lot of diversity and "turn over" of residents.

Rural but with easy access to interstates......that usually leads to drugs and such.

Does anyone know if they've brought teams and dogs out to see if they can find more bones if it is true that all they have found is a skull so far? (After this amount of time I would expect the bones to be scattered quite a bit)

It's not only rural but rather rugged in some areas. This area is in the Ozarks, not flat and there are lots of woods and streams, prob. caves too as caves abound throughout the state. Abundant outdoor recreation opportunities in the area - gorgeous. Also Interstate 44 follows roughly the track of historic Route 66, which is the main conduit from LA to Chicago and goes through the cities of Flagstaff AZ, Albuquerque NM, Amarillo TX, OKC, Tulsa, Springfield MO, St. Louis, Springfield IL and Bloomington/Normal IL. It changes to other interstate numbers (55, 44, 40, 10) but it's the same route. Lots of interstate travel through here. In my mind that makes many possibilities of where this person came from. Reasons why this might be a good area to drop off bodies, perhaps.

The article I read says investigators think the UID is 8-9 years old, and that the UID has been there for possibly 1-5 years. Nothing is for sure, and nothing else is known.
Here is a photo gallery of where the remains were found:
http://www.thv11.com/news/photo-gallery.aspx?storyid=233965

The kids that came to mind right away are:
*Scott Kleeschute
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/k/kleeschulte_scott.htm

*Charles Henderson
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/henderson_charles.html

*Bianca Piper

*Alexis Patterson

*Asha Degree
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/d/degree_asha.html

*Tiona & Diamond Bradley
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bradley_tionda.html

I know some of these children are out of date or age range, but I am not sure how accurate the estimates are that have been made. They are all possibilities until we know more.

I ran across the NAMUS database for a list of names of children who have been missing 1-5 years between 7-10 years old. I have not looked at their case files yet, but here are their names:

Yes, it is very rugged and rural. Lots of caves, rivers, hills and "hollers". According to Missouri Speleological Survey, there are 350 known caves in Pulaski County. People stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood military installation often refer to it as "Fort Lost in the Woods".

I am hoping they are able to extract DNA from the remains and compare it to missing persons.

Deer season (firearm) will begin Nov. 16th and run for 10 days. Hopefully hunters will be extra watchful for any other remains.

sniped from article

bbm

I've seen this article and it's the only one I can find that has a more specific age on the child. Everything else says "pre-teen/adolescent". I am wondering if this reporter talked directly to the forensic pathologist and not to the local sheriff?

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department posted this on their FB page today:

One of the reasons for attending the above meeting was to network with other law enforcement agencies regarding the human remains that were discovered near Dixon the prior weekend. A first step in this investigation is to identify the deceased, which seeking help from the MOCIC is a major step in that direction. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is a member of this valued organization and we use this resource for a multitude of investigations.

The NamUs profile has so little to go on. I wish we had more to work with.

But I did find two kids - both boys - from ages 8 to 9 who are missing in Missouri.

Christian Ferguson Went missing 131 miles away. It sounds like he is almost certainly dead; he is severely disabled (can't speak, swallow, or eat independently) or because of a rare genetic disorder and needs daily medication - which he does not have - so he doesn't die from having excessive ammonia in his blood. LE thinks his caretakers deliberately withheld the medication so he could die of his condition, got rid of his body, and made up a story about him being kidnapped.

Scott Kleeshulte Went missing 135 miles away. Last seen walking down the street.

Bumping. I very much feel a possibility that this could be Erica. She was a teen, but very small unless her stats were out dated. My heart really goes out to her. I feel ever so horrible for her biological mother putting her into foster care as she felt this would of been a better life for her, but that is not what occurred. My father suffers from mental illness, but he decided to take on the responsibility of taking care of me after he left my mother snd took me with him, because my mother whom had drug problems tried to sell me to heck knows who. After the experience of me coming close to possible death, my father was too paranoid to put me in foster care, so he struggled with raising me on his own. Maybe I could of been better off being adopted, but how would I know in the end. JMO and :twocents:
