Damn I was hoping this was an accident and the got scared and hid the body.
What another sad news day.

I want to know what this 15 yr olds home life was like what he is into. Has he been in trouble. I want to know so I can protect my children, and also keep them from becoming the scum this 15 yr old is.

Disgusted!!

Hi, this is my first post. I haven't been on here in years.

Anyway, I've been following this case closely. And I'd like to pass info that is only RUMORS at this time, I live about 3 miles from the scene.

1) I was reading the local newspaper's forums yesterday and a poster said that it was an older sister of one of Elizabeth's friends who said she "wanted to see what it was like to see someone die". The post was quickly removed. It was about the same time yesterday that the person on here sent the message "15yo girl"

2) It was a girl known for being the school bully who was several grades behind.

3) It was a former teenage babysitter of Elizabeth. Not stated as M or F.

Thanks for the updates, Welcome to Websleuths!

This has ti be a neighbor 15 yr old don't drive and there are not alot of houses right there.

It was stated that the friend she visiting was the friends gparents house. Was the friend. Or did she live with the gparents? Does she have a 15 yr old brother?
It was also mentioned that the gparents didn't know she left maybe she never did.

I don't know what article I read that in and can't get to it now. It's hard search articles on an iPhone. Sorry, bit I'm sure it's in the thread

Thanks Elley Mae.

Also, my son (12) goes to Thomas Jefferson Middle School told me that there were a lot of police at his school yesterday. TJMS is the nearest middle school to the area. However, I thought 15 would be kind of old to be in middle school (6th-8th). Also, whatever grade this person is in, they quite likely rode the same school bus as Elizabeth. They mix the grades in the more rural areas around here.

Unfortunately a lot 15yos do drive in this area. In addition to cars, they drive motorcycles and 4 wheelers.

Interesting, though, in light of the other rumor you heard, though:

If it really is someone from the middle school and also someone who was 15, that could fit with someone who was "several grades behind" per the other rumor you'd heard!

I'm still bouncing back and forth on whether it's a boy or girl.

"At this morning's press conference, Cole County Juvenile Court Administrator Michael Couty said that the 15-year-old is being detained. Authorities did not release the teen's gender or name."

I wonder if the link that Texas Mist was so kind to post, is just assuming the perp is a boy. I guess time will tell as he/she most surely will be charged as an adult. Maybe Monday we will know more.

I haven't heard of any funeral arrangements. So sad her dad and brother are in prison, but that's the consequences of their crimes.

No, he's pretty oblivious to it all. I had asked him if anything odd happened at school yesterday or the day before and he said there were a lot of police talking to other police around.

I don't think dad was in her life. Mom went to court for paternity in 07. I could be wrong though.

He sounds like a "normal" 12 year old. That is a good thing.

I was thinking if this is a male and charged as an adult, if found guilty would they be in the same pen as brother and dad?

crimecurious; is Elizabeth's father the only one that went to prison for the drug charges?

A few more details from another article:

Under Missouri law, children as young as 12 can be charged as adults with first-degree murder. But the case must start in the juvenile court system while a hearing is held on whether to transfer it to an adult court. Juvenile court records generally are closed under Missouri law unless a judge grants an exception.

Cole County Juvenile Court Administrator Michael Couty said the suspect was in the custody of the juvenile justice system and would undergo a background and psychological check. Couty planned to request a hearing next week before a family court judge to determine whether the suspect should be tried as a juvenile or as an adult. That hearing would be closed to the public.

Police initially had said Elizabeth was last seen walking home from a neighbor's house on Wednesday night. White said that timeline was developed through interviews.

But on Saturday, White declined to say whether police believed Elizabeth had started walking home when she encountered the suspect. He said many details could not be released to avoid risking the prosecution's case and because the suspect is a juvenile.

I'm not so sure that (s)he will be charged as an adult. If it is true that (s)he is several grades behind in school, it's very possible the individual has a learning disability which may prevent them from being tried as an adult if they cannot comprehend the severity of what they have done.

Here is an interesting read about Juveniles And The Law from the Missouri State Bar if you are interested in knowing how the system in Missouri works when it comes to juveniles.

I remember reading earlier that LE thought she had just come into contact with this person around the time she was reported missing.
Wonder where she was during those 15-20 minutes....and now it sounds like maybe she didn't ever leave.
I still feel this is a girl....like was posted, so many are just mean nowadays, and this imo, doesn't seem like a sex crime.

ETA: This wouldn't be first degree murder unless LE thinks it is premeditated...hence maybe threatening letters to Elizabeth (although why she would walk home alone after that leads me to believe maybe she didn't). That and the fact that the body was so well hidden searchers were right on top of her and didn't find her makes me think this kid knew EXACTLY what she/he was doing and did not want to get caught.

IMO
