I am glad you brought this up. What I have posted came from a source that I trust.

Right now there are tons of rumors flying around and I hate seeing Websleuths turned into posts with tons of rumors. People then take rumors as fact and everything gets messed up.

I Love Cookies has been verified by me as someone who knows the family. Therefore what ILC posts is based on direct information.

If you want to post information based on how close you live by the perp that's great. Also, posting theories is a great way to go through the evidence.

The only reason we have a rumor thread on the Haleigh Cummings case is because so many, I mean a huge amount, of locals were posting. They all knew the family in some way. We have that rumor thread in the private area of the forum.

I do not want to see this case become another Haleigh case on Websleuths by starting a rumor thread. A rumor thread has to be moderated very closely and we don't have the mods nor the time to do that now.

Let's try something a bit different. If you are a local and you have heard a rumor you think is worth repeating then you can post it on Websleuths as long as it is clearly marked rumor and as long as it doesn't violate TOS.

We will not allow any innocent names to be used. Just because someone knows the family or whatever does not mean they can be thrown out on the Internet.

OK here is the deal. If you are a local and you have heard a rumor that is not ridiculous post it clearly as a rumor.

I won't check if you say you are a local. This is different than saying you know the family.

If this doesn't work out because people start relying on rumors or repeating rumors as fact we will change it back.

If anyone has any questions go ahead and ask me, PM me or email me at [email protected]

O/T: I just have to say, I love it when you post and get involved in cases Tricia. It's rare but much loved. You are so easy-going and have such a great way of telling us what we can and can't do. You also listen to your posters and are willing to change things. And you're funny.

P.S. And no, I'm not kissing up. ;)

I am going to do some digging to see what all I can find about a call to/from E and her Mom on Wed night around 6:15.

I read E had her Mom's cell phone
I read E's mom called her from a landline phone at 6:15 to come home
I think I also read E called her mom as she was leaving or on her way home
I also read the GP's sent her home at 6:15 - which contradicts them not knowing E was there.
I also read AB called E to come back after she left

For those of you who are interested, let's try to tackle this. It will help with the timeline better.

I know I keep wanting to put together a note page with what is known fact, rumors heard according to the reliabilty and a time line. Maybe when I am feeling better I can get that together. I know it is wishful thinking that some info will be released before I get better but I know that it won't be until at least the 18th. I better not still be not feeling well;(.

That would be great to have! I am so sorry you are not feeling well. My entire household is getting over this crud too. Take it easy, rest, and drink lots of hot tea.

We know that E had A cell phone. Not sre if it was the mom's.
According to ILC that call was never made.
Not sure how the GP's can send her home IF they ddn't know she was there.

I am still puzzled as to why E's mom called the Police just 45 min after she spoke to EO. I would think she would go outside and look or at least call the house where she was supposed to be playing.

Guys,

I know it gets confusing. It does for me too. Our goal is two fold.

1-to provide you a great place to discuss true crime

2-to keep the integrity of the forum at its highest level possible.

Basically, we don't want a bunch of garbage, whining, personal junk, lies, innuendo, name calling, and all and all a load of crap on the forum.

That's as best as I can explain it. LOL.

Keep these things in mind;

*Just because a person is connected to a case doesn't mean we can immediately start using their name. Even if it is an adult. There is no need to drag innocent people through the mud.

*If people start talking to the media about the case then yes, they have decided they want their identity known. Then you can.

*If suspects and family members are talked about in the major media outlets.

*We don't allow name calling and snide remarks. No matter how cleverly disguised.

*No posting of minors names.

*Rumor's for locals and only if it is clearly marked as such and benefits the discussion of the case. I don't care about a suspect dental care unless it involves the case.

I really want the rumors to be kept to a minimum if at all possible.
Thanks,
Tricia

I remember we discussed this earlier on and it was written somewhere in a news article (I think) that her mom called because it was getting dark and E was afraid of the dark and the woods.

I understand, and it seems very reasonable. The part I just don't get is why AB isn't questioned earlier.

There is no way, with the rain we have had, that you could kill a girl, bury her body (I understand the grave was probably dug beforehand) and make it back in 45 minutes without looking sweaty and dirty. The LE are at her house that evening before she gets a chance to shower, and they don't notice anything that tips them off. The family doesn't question her a little more on a night that a girl disappears. Seems strange.

Maybe she slipped in the back door, and went up to her room without anyone seeing her. I don't have a clue about the floorplan of the house, but from what I remember seeing in newsclips it looks like a newer home. Many two story homes currently being built have stairs from the kitchen to the second floor. It is possible that she got into the house from a back door, and went straight upstairs to shower and change without being seen. Just throwing a possible scenario out there... BTW like many websleuthers this case has me spellbound - I am horrified by Elizabeth's death at the hand of a 15 year old girl...

How could ILC know EO didnt ring her mum or her didnt mum rang EO? I would have thought the only people who would have known this would be EO's mother and/or EO or whoever had her phone?

I was just re-reading everything on there and highlighted some of the things her family said:

A family member says Elizabeth was last seen around 5:15 p.m. walking on Route D. She was returning home but never showed up.

AT&T put the cell phone's location deep in the woods near Elizabeth's home. The family says Elizabeth would not have been walking in the woods to get home from her friend's house.

There are only four homes between the friends house and Elizabeth's and the family says she normally walked near the road.

The last "ping" pointed searchers to the woods behind the family's home. The family says it is a mystery why the cell phone would be in the woods because Elizabeth only walked near the woods.

Olten (Vicki) says Elizabeth wouldn't have wandered off because she was afraid of the dark and believes she was abducted.

I have read nothing from this site about E or her Mom calling eachother.

So I want to know who the person was that "last saw her". Was it a member of AB's family? But according to ILC, they didn't know she was there, so if you believe that, they didn't see her. Someone did. Who was it?

In thread 2, post 549 I said "read that she did call her Mom and say she was on her way". Where did I read this?

Then in thread 5 I think, someone else says it the other way around - that Mom called E and told her to come home.

I am not finding anything concrete about who called who if in fact a call was made.

The adults who live there maybe would not know, but the kids who live there and who she was playing with are maybe the one who saw her. Maybe why so much confusion as the info is coming from kids.

I think the time is supposed to be 6:15, but my point here is E's family member says E was last seen walking on Rte D.
