Authorities have confirmed that the body of Leadwood resident Frank Ancona, 51, was located earlier in the day outside Belgrade near the Big River by a family who were in that area to go fishing.

We learned this flyer and others like it associated with the Ku Klux Klan have been surfacing across driveways in North Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Although each flyer is different in nature, they all purport to be associated with the same group and list the same website and phone number as a contact.

We contacted the group based out of Missouri.

"It doesn't say anything about going after a particular race or religion or anything like that," explained Imperial Wizard of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Frank Ancona.

Ancona says a Florida chapter is behind the delivery of the flyers.

"It's a basic recruiting flyer they're just letting people know how to contact us," said Ancona.

"On Friday the Washington County Sheriff's Office learned of the disappearance of Frank Ancona who was missing from Leadwood Missouri. During this time, we were also informed Mr. Ancona's vehicle had been located by a United States Federal Forest Service employee on Federal Forest Service Property. Deputies responded and secured the area. On Saturday, I requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol due to the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Mr. Ancona. During the investigation, one subject was arrested on an unrelated warrant and two search warrants were executed in Washington County. Subsequently, a body was discovered on the bank of the Big River near Belgrade Missouri, in southern Washington County. The body was transported by the Washington County Corner's Office for an autopsy. The body was identified as Mr. Ancona, and his family has been notified. A cause of death has not been released and any inquires should be addressed to the Saint Francois County Sheriff's Office. The Washington County Sheriff's Office would like to extend our sympathy to Mr. Ancona's family and friends. I would like to thank the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Franklin County Sheriff"s Office and the Saint Francois County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and professionalism during this tragic and senseless act of violence. Yeah, I'm wondering, too. It's still early in the investigation, though. So while a person is in custody on a drug charge, he might be ignorant of the murder. Just someone easy to pull in and question because of the outstanding warrant.

I very well could be way off base, but a cursory Google search makes it crystsl clear that this was a man -- a family -- who had PO'd a lot of individuals.

I know it seems fairly cut and dried, but if I were working this case, I'd have them lined up out the door for a mile, asking questions and checking out alibis. :moo:

Many of my father's side of the family live in this general area (including my dad) and have since the early 1800's.
I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the smaller roads.
We know there had to be 2 people involved to drive and leave the deceased's car on the forestry road off highway P.
On Feb 8th at 9:32pm MA posted that the fuel pump was out on her car and her son was driving her around.

Leadwood is at the junction of hwy 8 and M. I'm thinking 2 cars were driven M to Hwy 21. South a few miles to Hwy C which leads to Belgrade. A little road runs off the left of C and runs along the river. I'm guessing that's the area he was found. Then continue a little ways on Hwy C to Hwy P north, leave the car then to Potosi. Hwy 8 at Potosi east back to Leadwood.

UPDATE (3 p.m. Sunday): The autopsy on the body of Frank Ancona revealed he died as result of a gunshot to the head. Charges should be filed as early as Monday morning.
