Glad to hear he is being cooperative. Also, glad they redacted his name. An article I linked up thread revealed Mr. (one of the deceased) Johnson's family retained an attorney, and I would hope that renter also retained counsel. Not saying he is guilty of anything, however, it would be in his best interest. moo
I think he probably has, even if he’s got no culpability.
I can certainly also understand the Johnson parents wanting answers in their pain and bewilderment. It’s a very strange situation all around.
I hope there will be some clear answers soon.

Has the surviving man lawyered up yet?
Regardless of what happened, goodness I hope he has lawyered up. Never talk to the police without an attorney and ESPECIALLY in a situation like this

Perhaps all four men ingested the same substance. The survivor/resident ingested a much smaller amount that left him unconscious for a day or two. That would cover the resident not responding to knocks and messages. JMO.
This. Fentanyl is a good example, especially if it is in coke that was laced with it. It's not like it's medication where every dose is exact. It's a gamble. That goes for the patches too. People cut them up but person A may get x amount but person B gets y amount which is more and they die. Also depends on tolerance.

Right: Also, the fact that he may have gone to bed while the other 3 were outdoors in 19 degree weather could be the determining factor here.
If they passed out then signs of hypothermia would have gone unheeded, and proceeded to death.

As far as personal experience goes, I know that in my 20's, I have gone out on New Year's Eve several times in dresses that wouldn't keep bacteria warm, standing in long lines shivering in below-freezing temperatures, but several hours later walking out, walking to get food, holding my coat. I was not shivering or feeling the cold then.
(Please do not judge, I was young, stupid and foolish)
This is exactly true. It’s your ‘beer jacket’. You feel warmer when intoxicated. I know this for the exact same reason you do!

Then the host’s statement to police that they may have frozen to death, especially if he was aware of drinking or other substances indulged in, may well prove to be medically true.

They may have lost track of time and passed out.

If my son/brother/husband did not come home at night as expected, I’d be over there in a hot minute!
Right? The fiancé is the one that eventually went over there, broke the window and found them, Were either of the other two guys married? I noticed ones a father, so perhaps divorced? Apologies if I missed that detail.

I have to go back and look at the photos, but was there chairs to sit in and drink if they’d been in the backyard? If not, I kind of doubt they went outside to drink, especially as they were probably already inebriated.
But that’s just me.

His name being redacted, is that something we have seen before? Does he work for the government or a "prestigious" place? Or maybe just has a powerful and sharp attorney? (Not implying anything, it's just very interesting to me, his identity being protected.)
I thought that odd as well. Maybe my memory fails me, but I don’t recall the only surviving adult’s name being redacted out of all news article’s when there have been three unexplained deaths, under suspicious circumstances like this.
Any verified attorneys following this case?

I guess the only photos we have are from when the house was listed, so won’t show anything present day. Oh well.

I wonder if any of them were cigarette smokers and the resident did not want smoking in the house, or it was a no-smoking lease. I know from attending many family parties and events that a good number of people remain outside to smoke.

Yes, I was gathering the idea that the one with 3 daughters was divorced or perhaps even widowed because they never mention a wife and all of the photos show only him with the girls. Very sad that they have now lost such a dedicated dad as all who knew him called him. :(

Even if the photos showed a table and chairs, how likely would it be that they would want to remain outside in 19 degree weather, UNLESS as I stated in my other post, they were cigarette smokers. That actually does motivate people to stand outdoors a long time in the cold.

I was thinking the same. Could they all went out to smoke and od'd on something they took? Fentanyl possibly?
Nothing makes sense really.

Yes, something like fentanyl definitely comes to mind.

Victim Clayton's FB had a post in November that he had been tobacco free for 31 days:

Fellow victims Ricky and David posted encouraging messages for Clayton too.

Ok, that definitely shows a history of smoking with a very noble and successful effort to quit.

People do relapse or have cheat nights, similar as with weight-loss diets —but of course this is all speculation and IMO and only the police and medical examiner can piece together what happened the night in question.

I think this is what likely happened. JMO

Even under the influence, I wonder why all three would willingly remain outside in freezing temperatures if they had access to the house for warmth.

That’s why I and others had wondered if it might have been something like fentanyl which caused them to lose consciousness. Hypothermia would subsequently have progressed during the night with the host upstairs asleep and unaware of what was happening outside.

If he also partook, he was saved by being indoors. He may have been sick and disoriented for a couple of days after which could explain his lack of communication.
