None of the major instigators that were arrested Thursday night were there last night. And there were only about 20 marchers last night. At one point they started chanting in the street. A contingent of county pd came out and said ' you can chant anything u want, as loud as u want, as long as u want, but u can't be in the street.'

then the cops went back inside. And the protests kind of petered out....:poof:

The group got bigger later on but I think that's because Antonio French brought food! They weren't doing any protesting, just eating and chit- chat. Lol

I can't see how even attempting to interrupt the nationally televised Rams-Monday Night Football game would benefit anyone other than the anarchist/revolutionist contingent of MB supporters, especially since the Rams lease at The Dome is up this year and rumors are flying the newish owner may move them back to LA. Would St. Louisans support that?

LOL...they aren't getting any teevee time now, are they? I don't know about local STL stations, but I haven't seen much that would be considered televised other than the nutjobs with their cellies claiming to be 'journalists'. LOL If they want MSM exposure, they may try something at the games, but I agree with you, sports fans are NOT going to put up with their pesky nonsense.

Logically, you are correct. But I bet their answer would be NO JUSTICE, NO FOOTBALL!

It was interersting that none of the Millennium group that was just arrested came out. When they left jail they were videod linking arms and chanting.

But I also noticed in the jail waiting room, a long line of peeved parents, presumably waiting for their kids. LOL I am wondering if some got lectured about not getting arrested again immediately and facing more serious charges when court rolls around.

Two weeks before the MB shooting, the black St. Louis police officers group, Ethical Society of Police, wrote a letter describing numerous supposed failures of St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson. This may explain why we've heard relatively little from or about Dotson regarding the MB shooting or the protests that followed. Dotson publicly disagreed with some of StLCPD Chief Belmar's early decisions and removed city police from action at the height of the most violent protests.

Coincidentally, the letter writer/President of the ESOP is named Darren Wilson.

I dont think they are minors. More like college aged. I am guessing but have seen some saying they are in school.

Now there's some high achievers. opps lol

I saw some of the millenials being interviews, about quitting school and jobs. And their explanation was that none of that was as important as 'this' was. 'This' being their quest for justice I suppose.

Appears as if there might be a hole in their thinking. That hole should be filled with reason, responsibility and maybe even some damn common sense!

It worked last night because none of the major instigators were there. I am worried about next weekend though. Are people going to travel across the country to just stand on the sidewalk and chant?

Unfortunately, I think they got more planned than just that.

Been planning for this weekend. Hubby out of town so I can watch live streams into night, stocked up on ice pops and popcorn. Then thread goes into lock down. Then commentary is limited. Ok, I can deal with that. There was a fire close by, put out quickly, but someone saw it lit, LE and helicopter activity around neighborhood. Sit back down find links again and nothing, a good thing!

I wonder if most don't want to chance arrest with big rally planned.
I secretly hope for a low turnout, but think a number of people with something to prove will attend.

I think they have to re-stock their "bond fund". Seems they were talking about having run out of money to post bond. Probably stay more subdued until they know they can post bond.

Re next weekend, one distraction from the protest will be the nationally televised Sat./Oct. 11 SEC football game between MO Tigers and the GA Bulldogs, both in the eastern division and both with 4-1 records, unless GA implodes today and loses to Vanderbilt. Also, there's a lot of local interest in the Oct. 13 Rams Monday night football game and festivities around Kurt Warner's Hall of Fame admittance iirc. IOW, the St Louis area "Weekend of Resistance" events will be competing for attention imo.

NM, misread your post to mean something was going to happen at Mizzou game. Yes, lots going on in STL. Mizzou, Rams to some extent (though not huge interest) and hopefully Cards still playing.
