"An Open Letter to Police Command" from an officer affected by Capt. Johnson et al's orders:

https://dissonantwinstonsmith.wordpress.com/2014/09/22/an-open-letter-to-police-command/#more-262

I was going to quote some key passages, and then realized I'd have to quote it all.

Man speaks the truth. As of right now everything that comes out of LEs mouth is an empty threat, and when Capt. Ron is on the scene, the empty threats are issued along with his sympathetic apologies.

commercial driver's license?

Given the reference to guns, that's probably supposed to be cwl - concealed weapon license.

Tyrone Parker said he feared the community was about to hit a "another boiling point" as a grand jury weighs possible charges. “I don’t see nobody that has calmed down yet,” he said.

“It goes without saying that [Wilson] should be incarcerated, there should be procedures, a protocol that should’ve been followed, hadn’t been followed, so that’s where the anger comes in.”

Like most anything anything there are pros and cons to any given situation.

I can see the merit of kids in lockdown at school and being home with their parents.

For me personally, I think it would be better to do it over the weekend, so that residents can take whatever measures they feel necessary to protect themselves.

It's going to be dicey no matter how it's done. This is of course assumes the GJ will come back with a no bill.

Do you mind sharing what you paid, and in general terms what kind of records you were requesting? I still don't have any information on what a typical charge might be for sunshine requests.

Typically, any reports, pictures, video. Off the top of my head I thought it was more like 17 cents per page but it might have been 10 cents per page and then typically a "handling" fee of anywhere from $15 to $20. Except for one occasion, I have never been billed an hourly rate and on that one occasion they ended up not insisting on it and that one occasion wasn't in Missouri either now that I think about it. I don't have one in front of me to look at, but it seems like video had a different charge, but it wasn't anything exorbitant.

:banghead:

Grrrrrrr....

This is worse than the "vigorous prosecution" comments said at the onset of this ordeal.

Pssst.....hey Parker, the process means incarceration occurs, if warranted, AFTER procedures and protocol have been followed.

Calling for dox'ing two black FPD officers they say we're involved in Jackson march set up on twitter. While Bynes, Nadal, and French meet with Dotson and MO AG about representative policing.

If LE heads don't stop vacillating, I fear their officers or their families will be murdered.

Let's stop the discussion about charging for copies. There are rules regulating what can be charged per copy so feel free to look it up on the internet. It is off topic and unrelated.

Thank you. That's a lot lower than the numbers we're hearing thrown around here. So there's one datapoint. Did any of your requests happen to involve a highly controversial police shooting with an ongoing local investigation plus a federal DOJ civil rights investigation? Was it stuff that needed thorough legal review before releasing, or was it fairly routine documents? These aren't "gotcha" questions.... I'm seriously looking for more information that would reveal whether these fees are reasonable or not. I've not made up my mind one way or the other.

ETA: Oops, sorry, lambchop, I was writing at the same time you were posting. Honestly, I thought it was on topic to discuss this....it's being reported in the MSM, and relates to legal proceedings surrounding this case.

Per twitter, some protestors looking to get spotlights to shine in LE's eyes so they can't see when they approach them. :sigh:

My post had said I hoped the kids were home so they wouldn't be on lockdown. Anytime I've seen lockdowns done at schools, students are aware something scary is happening. And children and parents often want to be together during frightening events. That's all.

We added lockdown drills to my kiddos elementary school just this year. It is very frightening for the little ones :(

I wonder who's doing the dox'ing now. AnonCopWatch was arrested a couple of days ago. Haven't heard of him being bailed out. His wife used his twitter to ask for help.
