Just want all of you to know you are doing a great job. Lots of information gathering from the livestream. It's great to be among the protestors through the lens of the cameras because you feel you are right there, whether you agree with what they are doing or not. I know it gets stressful when they act out but always remember they do have a right to protest (although I do not care for them calling for DW's death) but it is a lesson for us all to be able to watch this and discuss it as it happens. I know I'm getting an education. LOL

Thanks

And I don't know if it's on purpose or just coincidental, but frankly, I think closing the threads down at night is a good thing. It's like the old 24 hour rule. If something upsets me enough to comment on it 24 hours later, then raise it. Odds are I will be much more rational in my comments and not as influenced by emotions.

That should garner some interesting answers.

Are we going to have one of our many 'journalists' out covering this event? Live stream? I'm going for popcorn! BRB

"Growing up in south St. Louis City, being one of a dozen female members of a teenage gang and ending up taking trips to the juvenile detention center, Sen. Jamilah Nasheed’s unconventional past did not stop when she reached adulthood.
After being “pushed-out” of the St. Louis public school system during her high school years, Jamilah started to change, she said, transitioning from being a “disturbed a kid to being an aware adult.”

Where did Nasheed's parents go wrong? Why did she join a gang? What behavior did she exhibit that resulted in her being "pushed-out" of school?

I note that one of the forces she attributes to her transition is: reading. Reading. My mantra. Reading can unlock an awful lot of chains. (But I've preached about it before, so I won't do it again. Much.)

I give myself voluntary timeouts and go look at pictures of cute cats.

Saw it all over twitter. First, the young lady may be stating familiarity to lend credence to her position and not really know anyone on the GJ. The post also does not say that the juror said there is not enough. Finally, the GJ is still reviewing evidence and is expected to for weeks. It wasn't a smart thing to tweet, and hopefully a juror has not breached confidentiality. The protestors would not deal well with a whole new GJ starting over.

As for King, he seems quite narcissistic on twitter and not aware of many facts or statutes, but protestors like to retweet his errors. I'd put him in the category of instigator to profit personally. He makes sure to self promote amid the rants.

Another reason not to drag this out if there is actually no new evidence coming in--the longer the deliberations and unrest go on, the greater the chance that one of the grand jurors (who are only human, after all) will break silence if only in a misguided attempt to fill in a perceived information void that seems to be causing more problems. JMO.

what? hopefully it's not gonna be another protest session & hopefully s/body in charge will tell them they can't demand dw's arrest.

wishful thinking?

edit - holy crap - just went to read the other tweets = a grand jury leak? can't be . . .

IMHO seems a little fishy after Nasheed's tweet earlier today . . . red herring? Lie?

Per weather.com, looks like there might be storms in Ferguson tonight. Maybe that coupled with so many being sick will keep it calmer.

Rain and thunderstorms should sweep through the area on Wednesday night and into Thursday. The weather will be unsettled through about midnight on Thursday. We will keep a close eye for rain and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe.

There's no walking this back in the eyes of some protesters, I'm afraid. Unless OW is indicted for murder, some people will forever believe this grand jury was corrupt. IMO

They've been claiming a conspiracy to cover for Darren for weeks, expecting no indictment. Nadal's rumors didn't help. They said Jackson's apology meant he wasn't going to be indicted. The fact no reports from the open investigation were released meant the same, the fact McCulloch and the LE agencies said the investigations and reports weren't completed meant the same, etc. It's not helpful, but even if this didn't occur if he's not indicted, the GJ process was tainted from Day 1, in the protestors' eyes.

It's a long shot, but Anonymous has been all over this case too. They could've set up a fake account or hacked, for that matter. That's why I didn't just bring the twitter rumor here. It'll be looked into. But some thought the fix was in the minute Darren wasn't arrested 8/9.

I think you're probably right. But, I think your logic on this goes beyond grand jury. Within minutes of the incident, this situation today was Get Ready and Go!
