Two reporters just cuffed and put in cop can outside Ferguson McDonald's where @WesleyLowery said he and @ryanjreilly were working

Can they do this? Arrest reporters?

depends on what they are charging them with or why they are being detained, seems like a bad call because it will really irk the rest of the media, but idk what happened.

that wasnt what i replied to, i replied to "how can they know who the peaceful ones are and who are the violent ones"

It is too bad some bad eggs had to ruin the protests, but they did, so this is what happens.

there is a riot squad member in full battle gear on top of an armored vehicle wielding a mounted sniper rifle and pointing it at unarmed peaceful civilians breaking no laws in daylight in america.

incredible.

edit - by the way, none of what i just wrote is hyperbole, or exaggeration, or influenced by any of the somewhat inflated commentary on that stream, it is an exact description of what is happening in ferguson.

I don't think you'll find a stauncher defender of the bill of rights than me, especially right to speech and peaceful assembly, but the constitution isn't a suicide pact. It's been announced that peaceful demonstrations during daylight hours would continue, but that demonstrations at night are discouraged. This is the time when looting and shooting occurs and mob mentality takes over. Night time curfews are a regular occurance in the US when serious violence is threatened.

I hope this all somehow comes to a peaceful end with information coming out about exactly what happened to Michael Brown, with no more deaths following his death.

that is a very interesting position to hold, so just to be clear you have no problem with police pointing loaded assault weapons and sniper rifles at peaceful citizens that are peaecfully protesting? committing no crimes and suspected of no crimes?

ok.

wow, i dont even know what to say...

but lets start with - there is nobody rioting, looting, acting violently, or committing any crime there. nothing. nobody.

they are pointing loaded weapons at people suspected of nothing, in the act of doing nothing, in broad daylight.

i dont even... is this still america? there are people that will defend this?

22 compelling photos after Mike Brown's death - http://www.ksdk.com/picture-gallery...ling-photos-after-mike-browns-death/14004317/

I don't see peace in these photos. I see an angry crowd, burned buildings, broken glass, looting, arrests. The slogan - No justice, no peace! Well justice takes more than a few days. The incident is being investigated. I don't think any of this is about justice for Michael Brown, it goes much deeper than that.

ok.

You didn't ask me, but I'm okay with it considering. This isn't an Easter parade, this is an angry mob. If he started shooting into the crowd without provocation, that's murder. But standing ready to take control of a murderous mob is their job. They've had more than plenty of warning that violence could break out - being unprepared at this point to deal with it when it happens would be remiss.
