you can't just go shooting people because you think they MAY be armed. These pics haven't changed a thing. It was still an unarmed teen, shot in the back while fleeing. It doesn't matter what he was doing before the cops even came across him

Thank you, it's just this simple. There is no death penalty that I am aware of for being suspected in a robbery.

But she did not say Chicago. She said "the country".

And all these white people so "concerned" about black on black crime perhaps should concern themselves with white on white crime before trying to dismiss concerns about systemically corrupt LE departments by doing the hand waving, look-over-there Jedi mind trick by pointing to black on black crime in places where they dont even live.

I don't know how to reply to this. By air-quoting, I presume you're insinuating that white people who profess to care about the epidemic of black-on-black crime, should instead be focused on their own race? Why on earth would one do that? I simply don't care about race, or religion, or any of that, with regards to crime.

I care about the poor damned kids who can't even play at the park without getting shot. That's what breaks my heart. I'm more concerned with stopping the crime, as opposed to investigating the few LE departments that are not on the up and up.

I agree. I think the police vastly mishandled the situation, but that occurred AFTER the shooting of the suspect. They should have been transparent about the robbery. Even if it meant appearing to be insensitive to a mother's grief.

I feel really sorry for the officer that has been dragged thru the mud on this. His boss didn't stand up for him and tell exactly what happened right away, IMO, which contributed to the violence, mob justice demands, and riots. Put this man's entire family at risk, as well. This officer is going to be vindicated, IMO. He was doing his job.

And why exactly wasn't Dorian Johnson arrested??

That is exactly it. The police did not do anyone any favors here. Not their own, Not MB not the community. They made a Clustercluck of the whole thing and made EVERYTHING worse.

It did not have to be like this. I can not fault anyone in that community for being upset and angry. If the Information was out in the beginning they would have had something to weigh their opinions and thoughts on.

IMO, This police dept acted so badly they should be charged with something.

I think I heard them refer to Brown as a "gentle giant".

Oopsy.

My question is, why wasn't Dorian Johnson arrested? It's alleged he was in the store with Mike.

Why did it take this long for the police to give these details?

I still wonder if the officer who shot Mike Brown dead knew of this stealing before or after he was executed..

Still, I don't believe this should have risen to the point it did.

I believe it should have been told within hours of the death of Mike Brown..

I'm sad that a young man has lost his life.

I'm angry at the abysmal state of the media (sensationalism is all it is)

I'm appalled at the violent riots. What a disgrace. It is no way to honour the deceased.

I'm really anxious to know what exactly happened that fateful day. Hopefully we'll find out soon enough.

That's all.

No death penalty for being a robbery suspect, true. But attacking an officer might get you killed. I'm not saying that's what happened in this case, however it's seems more likely today than it did yesterday. IMO

The air quotes are because I don't think they actually DO care. Because they only bring up their "concern" when questions are raised by blacks about cases of suspected police brutality based on race. Or any case where black people raise concerns.

It is a mind trick, a deflection, because they don't want to hear about or confront anything having to do with racial bias. Look over there! So we don't have to confront the possibility that maybe the black community - who has been raising this issue for years - might actually be right that there's a problem!

I wonder if this behavior was out of character for his usual personality. I'll be interested in the tox screen results from the autopsy.

Too bad we don't know if Dorian Johnson was under the influence of anything.

What makes Brown look like a "big <mod snip>" to you? Do we have absolute confirmation that the person in the video stills of the robbery are Brown?

You are joking, right? Look at him intimidating the tiny guy who is cowering.

Good grief.

Maybe because LE knows that even if MB was a possible criminal, that doesn't justify their use of deadly force. Because id hope that in this country we are not okay with just gunning down anyone suspected of a crime.

I cannot believe there are so many who are okay with letting police have this kind of power.

I think the biggest problem here is that the police could have handled this whole thing differently and BETTER.

Even not releasing the officers name they could have given real and true facts and info about the robbery and that there was video of the suspect on tape and stills and that This person was stopped because of that robbery and resisted arrest.

That would have put a damper on the whole thing from the beginning.

But they were too silent, too long.

I am waiting for Autopsy report to make any more conclusions.

I disagree. They could not have instantly come out publicly with those pictures, while the family was grieving their newly deceased son. That would have been very insensitive. It might have created it's own backlash.

They needed time to get their own facts in order too. Investigations take time. But while they were putting their info together, Dorian was out telling his own version of the story. And I think he was making things up. And getting the public all riled up and angry.

What makes Brown look like a "big 🤬🤬🤬🤬" to you? Do we have absolute confirmation that the person in the video stills of the robbery are Brown?

Maybe it was the pics of his hands on the smallers guys collar, next pic. appeared to have shoved him. Does Big Bully work for you? Looks like he has robbery item in his hand. Suspect in pic is said to be wearing(per CNN) a St. Louis Cardinal baseball hat. Michael Brown was wearing same attire.

I personally don't think it would have been insensitive to the family. The truth is the truth.

Would really like to e better stills. Wish an independent agency would work with stills for clarity. I would not trust LE in that area one bit with any evidence at this point. She'll shocked here from events in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
The witness/accomplice has now conceded to the events in the convenience store. Still had the cigars and they were turned over to the FBI.

In an interview with msnbc shortly after the report was released, Johnson’s lawyer confirmed that Brown had taken cigars from the store.
