Apparently, dissenting viewpoints aren't allowed in that hall. The crowd is angry and shouting him down.

Does that surprise you? They won't listen to logic, facts or truth. The same people are the ones protesting and still believing the BS narrative about the Gentle Giant getting gunned down in broad daylight (gasp!) by the big bad meanie cop for no reason.

Ugh...this man just called out the mayor as an outside agitator!!! LOL!!! Says he doesn't live in Ferguson and only owns property there.

Oh the irony.

No police would mean no fire department responding, no ambulances. LE has to clear the way for responders. No responders means no subsidized housing because insurance companies would cancel policies on apartment buildings. It would be a domino effect. jmo

Good, that's perfect.

Apologize??? I really don't understand what these people are thinking? Why aren't the activists INFORMING them how their government actually works, and help them come up with productive ways to achieve positive change?

Because that's not really the goal?

But, but, but......it's for their own safety. Have you seen some of the drivers out there? And let's not get into a discussion about people who text while they are driving and run up over curves. Kids/children do not belong walking down the middle of the street, ever. It is the duty of the officer to tell them to get up on the sidewalk. It's why we have sidewalks.

Man, I don't remember name calling but will take whoever's word. Regarding the rest, not only do my kids walk in the street, they play basketball in the street, ride their bike in the street, run in the street, play catch in the street, ride their scooter in the street. I guess just different parts of the country do things differently. Heck, not only does he play basketball in the street, I was the one who set the basketball hoop up for him to do so. Well, me and about a dozen other houses around us.

<modsnip> I will also be the first to say telling someone to get out of the street is complete BS. Not that that has anything to do with this case. And yes, I know, others disagree. Here, there isn't a day that goes by where kids aren't walking down the street, oftentimes right in front of cops on their way to school, and are never told to get out of the street.

How many of those streets have a double yellow stripe down the middle? There's streets, in which I agree with you. Then there are roads.

This guy is throwing out threats left and right. He's got nothing but time on his hands to make their lives miserable. He will shut down the roads. There won't be no baseball games, no football games, etc... Wow...really threatening and the crowd goes wild.

Poor kids. :(

I am not watching this, but are any of the residents concerned about crime in their area or the fact that a bunch of people just burned down several businesses and destroyed property from rioting? Don't they want to work together with police to resolve things like re-building the community and getting rid of criminal element(s) like gangs that essentially further community deterioration? That would seem more constructive than what some of these residents are upset about, idk just imo.

Nope.

Not at all

And, if the mayor & council said "enough of this, meeting adjourned," what mayhem would happen then? "

It's so sad that while they're hugging and puffing they're still deferring to others to fix their problems.

They each need to ask themselves, "what can I do to make it better?"

But without a luck of common sense or education or even a basic civics course...they're doomed.

well, I hope the grang jury is watching this. I'd like them to see what the cops deal with on a daily basis. The level of hatred and disrespect is palatable.

I bet this crowd will go out and protest tonight after this meeting. jmo

Yep they are all fired up.

LOL, that last speaker says she going to sue the council members and their families.

New lady just said Mike Mike was assassinated...She is outraged and offended by the disrespect....their refusal to answer questions is indicative of that disrespect...they think they will just wear them out...she wants answers...

Ah. True. I neglected to include how using the term "jaywalking" also works as a rhetorical device to paint ODW as an unreasonable officer. ;)

(I'd edit my post, but I think everyone already understands the deal.)

Trust me, I fully understand how silly the term jaywalking sound. Silly term for what was at the time a silly list.

Then I say give them a taste of what they think they want
