Some do some don't. If I remember, I'll take pictures and post all the hoops on all the roads, even ones with a double yellow.

Man, I don't remember name calling but will take whoever's word. Regarding the rest, not only do my kids walk in the street, they play basketball in the street, ride their bike in the street, run in the street, play catch in the street, ride their scooter in the street. I guess just different parts of the country do things differently. Heck, not only does he play basketball in the street, I was the one who set the basketball hoop up for him to do so. Well, me and about a dozen other houses around us.

I think it depends on where you live. Obviously Officer Wilson would have had more information on the types of accidents in the area involving pedestrians. Some areas have no sidewalks, or are Dead End streets, so walking on the street is permitted. City streets are dangerous if there is a normal traffic flow and if you are walking down the center of the street you are obstructing traffic.

It's so sad that while they're hugging and puffing they're still deferring to others to fix their problems.

They each need to ask themselves, "what can I do to make it better?"

But without a luck of common sense or education or even a basic civics course...they're doomed.

Does that surprise you? They won't listen to logic, facts or truth. The same people are the ones protesting and still believing the BS narrative about the Gentle Giant getting gunned down in broad daylight (gasp!) by the big bad meanie cop for no reason.

I was hoping against hope that some folks with something intelligent to offer would come forward. The former Ferguson mayor tried to, but was basically chased away from the mic. This meeting is nothing more than mob mentality, IMO. It's obvious that anyone who speaks against the prevailing opinion in that hall will not be allowed to say their piece.

The current speaker is now calling the police officers underground KKK.

No police would mean no fire department responding, no ambulances. LE has to clear the way for responders. No responders means no subsidized housing because insurance companies would cancel policies on apartment buildings. It would be a domino effect. jmo

If that's in response to my post, I didn't say no police. I said the FPD should be disbanded, or they should walk off the job or whatever the case is.

Well OT but most of those things on your list are against my town's ordinance. For safety reasons, and not to mention it can be quite a nuisance to other neighbors that are also paying property taxes. But sounds like you have gotten an okay from all your neighbors and that is important as residents. I think that's why we have public parks and playgrounds, public spaces that kids can and should use instead of roadways. Your town sounds a bit more flexible though.

At the scene of the shooting, there are sidewalks on BOTH sides of the street!

So, are these folks representative of the peaceful protestors we've heard so much about? Not watching it, but the Ferguson residents were described as cool, calm and collected and it was out of towners causing all the problems. Thoughts?

I did y'all one better. Started out depressed and hopeless and didn't even bother to get on the ride tonight. Thanks to those who still have the patience to continue following this mess. I can rest assured that if anything of substance happens I will read about it here. And by letting those with stronger stomachs do the following and watching from here on out I save myself a world of head and heart ache

Watching this makes all of Michael's choices less surprising. Where would he have learned respect, appropriate behavior, or boundaries?
