Ms. Chappelle-Nadal is right about Jay Nixon being a coward imo. He's been cowering ever since the blowback he received after describing the store robbery tape release as wrong and it's "casting aspersions" on MB.

CBS/Face the Nation: ""I think it had an incendiary effect," Nixon said in an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation." "When you release pictures and you clearly are attempting to besmirch a victim of a shooting, shot down in his own street, a young man, and at the same time you're releasing information...to tarnish him, then properly, there was a lot of folks that were concerned about that, and I do think it flamed it back up and has caused us to have to deal with some of that."

“We were certainly not happy with that being released, especially in the way that it was,” Nixon said. “It appeared to cast aspersions on a young man that was gunned down in the street. It made emotions raw.”

Are you kidding me?

And why does she want the Canine unit cleansed? Do they not wash their dogs regularly?

Because we DID have a discussion about not referring to any human being as an "animal", I'm assuming that statement cuts both ways in order to have a respectful productive dialogue, this Maria lady seems to be nothing but a vitriol spewing grandstanding showman(women).

And for all her twits (oh sorry tweets) I don't see one productive solution....just more demands without any productive course of action or actual solutions....things you expect from someone who talks like they have all the answers.

And if tear gas is so bad...why'd you subject yourself to it 3 TIMES! third times a charm? (incidentally having had to be tear gassed for the army, i can say its not a fun experience)

Thank you for your service.

I'm afraid this generation of AA activists are very different from those children learn about in Feb.'s "black history month". Ms. C-N probably thinks Rosa Parks should have blown up the bus.

Fair Claim, I'm Canadian (though American soldiers are awesome, I don't want to steal their hard earned thunder)

Around 2.42 a woman says (not verbatim) how are you getting Ferguson residents involved, unified and equal.

Seems to me either you want to be involved or you don't. You can be part of the problem or solution. If community spent as much energy on coming together, healing and compromise than protesting they could move forward. Have these people not seen video of robbery? Can we discuss that like adults, Ferguson? This is so one sided and city has bent on fines with more to come.

What have I learned from MB shooting is it's perfectly ok to steal, bully, assault, perform willful civil disobedience and negotiate laws. That's a sad role model to other cities and it enrages me as someone who toes the line.

One speaker promised more demonstrations if he didn’t see officer Darren Wilson face charges for the shooting death of Michael Brown.

“You all might as well bring back the army because there’s going to be chaos in the street again,” said the young man.

Service is service, y'all served alongside us everywhere I was stationed. Don't downplay! ;)

Yeah, you're probably right about that. Probably thinks MLK wasn't violent enough either. SMH

Which only creates more Michael Browns to make more poor choices and harm others.

What's so difficult? Have you tried getting it recently? In some places you have to wait hours in line to get an ID. If you are elderly, it's physically exhausting.
And you might have no means of even getting to an ID place if you don't drive. As many elderly don't.

I think u r exaggerating a tad bit. U dont 'wait in line'---u get a number and u sit in an air conditioned office until ur number is called. Not really that exhausting. Most DMV's have public transit nearby.

Is this woman on something? Of course if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, you are Mike Brown and the police will tell you to get your azz out of the street and if you match the description of a suspect in a strong-arm robbery, the police will give you a second look.

What about the law is so difficult for the woman to grasp? Perhaps she inhaled too much tear gas.

JMO

She is fueled by hatred and this tragedy has afforded her an opportunity to spew it with no repercussions. She disgusts me. JMO

Okay, it's 3:00. The highway blockers are supposed to be gathering somewhere about now in preparation for the big event at 4:30.

She isn't crazy in the clinical sense. Crazy as used is just a descriptive term used by those who don't approve of her conduct at this time.

Crazy like a fox. :waitasec:

What? The voters are already registered. That's not an issue, is it? The issue is they are required to produce a photo ID. It does place unfair burden on some groups, such as elderly, because a lot of them don't drive so they have expired licenses (which are not accepted, as an ID has to be unexpired).

Sorry, I'm a bit behind but......

My elderly mother, 80 yrs old, obtained an ID and doesn't drive. It took all of 15 minutes to get. WE LIVE IN MISSOURI. It really is that easy.

ETA: Sorry mods, I didn't see the warning until well after I posted :( But, in my defense, this was about the meeting that took place last night and Fergusonese people yelling "Let My People Vote" ....again, sorry.

Not everybody has the same capabilities you do. Some people are in nursing homes and wheelchair bound. Requiring them to wait for hours in line to get a photo ID seems ludicrous to me.
Especially considering there is no evidence of any widespread voter fraud, these voter ID laws are designed to do what, exactly?
Fix something that doesn't need fixing?

There is no 'evidence' of widespread voter fraud because once u get away with it, it's done. No evidence left behind. But there have been many instances where they had more votes than there were residents in a precinct. It's not that big a hurdle.

If u can't make it to the DMV, then u probably can't make it to the polls either.

I'm sorry, But if you can prove who you are, then you should not be allowed to vote. There is a reason we all have to register. IMO

Police gather on Hanley I-70 ramp in anticipation of today's protest and shutdown of highway.
