IIRC, there were only 3 school districts in the entire state of MO that lost their accreditation. And 2 of them are side by side near Ferguson? There's something seriously wrong in that community, or at least the part whose children go to these unaccredited schools. I couldn't understand much said at the council meeting, but one agitated woman on the right side mentioned the horrible schools her children were forced to attend, as if kids from other parts of Ferguson went to better schools in a different district. Normandy HS seems the worst of the worst in all MO. Yet, MB was allowed to live with his grandma so he could finish there when his mother moved out of the district. I'd really like to understand that choice.

IMHO his mom lives in East StL IL where the public schools are no better - still have no evidence where his father lived therefore cannot provide an informed opinion of that school district

I don't know the law on this, but I don't think the store merchant may have realized that MB was a running a tab...or maybe he was just chasing him down to sign off on the tab? It's too bad we couldn't hear the sound of the video. It would probably show the store owner chasing after MB "Mr. Brown...Mr. Brown...wait...you forgot to sign off on the tab...and your friend left an extra box here...didn't you want to take these as well??? Then MB patted him on the shoulder saying "no...sorry about that...I'll sign off on the tab later and I don't really want the extra box but will be sure to pay you on Friday for these" as he accidentally (due to his gentle giant status) tipped the merchant into the rack and then he turned back quickly to say "oh...man...I'm so sorry....are you ok??? sometimes I just don't know my own strength" and the merchant replied "oh...no problem Mr. Brown...I'm just clumsy" as he chased after him out the door to yell to him "thanks so much for your patronage Mr. Brown...please come again!!!"

Found this vid posted on another site. It's the first few seconds that are interesting...

The vid starts with Brady being interviewed and holding his cell phone up toward the cameras showing what he saw. It's interesting b/c the MSNBC tv interview states there is no audio of the recording, and in this bit, there is clearly audio as the camera is picking it up. 2nd what you hear is Brady say twice, "he ran back to the car, he ran back to the car."

I think if the information directly relates to the case and is not political in nature, then I would say it is okay to post it and state that the article cannot be linked because it is on a political website. We can surely all use goggle to find this information. If it is a problem we will deal with it at that time. Not sure why MSM is dropping the ball on some of this information that appears to be valid. You all know this case is different and the truth is what we are after.

But MB's Normandy HS was so horrible that the state demanded the district pay the costs, including transportation, for any kids who wanted to transfer out, and many did ... but not MB. Part of what's driving the anger in the SE corner of Ferguson, i.e. the Canfield Green area, is the state rescinded the transfer option and trapped Normandy/Riverview kids in those dangerous schools.

Some people are never going to be satisfied. I fully get that. But I think such boards would take away much of the argument about lack of transparency and accountability. The numbers left still complaining would be much smaller. Like was said, no magical answers that will fix everything, but I think it would be a step in the right direction.

An instance where a CRB might be handy. I have no idea the merits of her underlying claims, nor the merits of her claims that LE hasn't interviewed her with regard to her complaint or if they've even been asked or if asked if they have opened an investigation. But, seems like an example of where and why a CRB might be useful.

This mirrors what you have said about them not knowing how city council meetings work, LE procedures, etc.

I don't question their intellect or ability to learn. For those we've seen, I question their desire to do so. We've seen a lot of demanding things work the way they want to, not trying to acquire information regarding facts, whether about procedures or the facts of this case, like Wilson's toxicology.

I've seen some very shrewd/smart maneuvers and there's clearly a great deal of planning that went into crafting the narrative IMO.

As for the ones I suspect you claim are crafting the narrative, those are not the ones I would want on such a board. i.e. someone like Shahid or even Vickers.

I had an epiphany (maybe) about that situation as I was driving this morning. It made a bunch of little pieces of information line up and suddenly make sense to me. With LambChop's gracious decision, I'm going to try to assemble a post about it that goes to what may have culminated into Michael's actions that day.

Let me clarify. This case is different regarding Websleuths in that it has not be delegated to the "basement", or just limited to media only - no discussion thread. This is why I am asking you all to post responsibly and not get into a heated conversation about personal opinions from cases in the past.

We should all be able to put aside our attitudes and contribute posts that help us understand what happened. It is truly tragic for both the Brown family and for Officer Wilson. This is the truth that no one can deny if they are honest with themselves. It is way too late to change what has happened but it isn't too late to keep it from happening again. jmo

OT but 'cause both districts could not pay for the kids choosing to be bused to better schools & asked the State to fund - and now the State has stepped in ! Your community's schools show community spirit! And these areas just don't have it . . . a community spirit that is

Comes down to fundamental RESPECT for one's home, one's schools/teachers/parents/authority, one's community/Village

I'm not staying up to watch it because it comes on at 1:15 am, but it looks like ESPN is replaying its E60 program. I can't tell if it is the show including Four Weeks in Ferguson, highlighting the football team playing through the mess but I'm going to record it and see. While most of the story supposedly talks about the team and what they've done to get ready to play despite everything going on, it supposedly also has an interview with a player on the team who had a run in with OW a week or two before the shooting. Haven't seen it. Have no idea of its merit. For all I know it was a positive run in.
