i believe there is only one StL County Grand Jury

You mean one "sitting" gj? What about all the other cases besides this one? Who's true-billing those?

Why has Crump been so quiet and why is he talking again, now?

Something else is about to be released about MB that is not favorable? JMO

An opinion piece... from the Washington Post... enough said. jmo

:giggle: thanks for the conformation. I saw the word 'opinion' in the link and scrolled on by

Full toxicology report? McCulloch would be wise to dribble out any bad news re MB now and allow the community to gradually absorb it, rather than a later huge release of it all at once. moo

Not that anyone could find, and you better believe they tried!

I'm willing to bet he doesn't have one. Hard to become a cop if you have one, particularly if it is anything serious. I would imagine the police would have access to that when hiring. That said, I think OWs juvenile record, if any, would be much less of importance, since it was much longer ago than MBs, who had only recently become an adult.

I think if the information directly relates to the case and is not political in nature, then I would say it is okay to post it and state that the article cannot be linked because it is on a political website. We can surely all use goggle to find this information. If it is a problem we will deal with it at that time. Not sure why MSM is dropping the ball on some of this information that appears to be valid. You all know this case is different and the truth is what we are after.

Normandy HS seems the worst of the worst in all MO. Yet, MB was allowed to live with his grandma so he could finish there when his mother moved out of the district. I'd really like to understand that choice.

I had an epiphany (maybe) about that situation as I was driving this morning. It made a bunch of little pieces of information line up and suddenly make sense to me. With LambChop's gracious decision, I'm going to try to assemble a post about it that goes to what may have culminated into Michael's actions that day.

We should all be able to put aside our attitudes and contribute posts that help us understand what happened. It is truly tragic for both the Brown family and for Officer Wilson. This is the truth that no one can deny if they are honest with themselves. It is way too late to change what has happened but it isn't too late to keep it from happening again. jmo

Many of us have noticed that the media and those aligned with the family have created a false narrative and repeated demonstrably false lies. The truth could save lives or potentially redirect and redeem them. Thank God more information has come to light, for the officers' sake and Michael's. MSM needs to drop their agenda and get back to journalism. Thankfully, a few local outlets and the new media are getting facts out there.

I really appreciate all the information that has fleshed out Michael. Honestly, I've got a soft spot for him. I wish we could rewind his life and put him on a different path. For anyone who's read Michael Oher's autobiography for example, it can be done. At the same time, I'm upset he made the choices he did that day that harmed two. The destruction that's followed since I blame on others. And if the truth doesn't get into Ferguson, I fear more lives lost and potential wasted.

We know Shahid was right there with Dorian, Piaget, Tiffany and the family immediately following the shooting (numerous videos, gateway pundit, conservative treehouse) and that Anthony Gray, one of the family's attorneys, and Dorian's attorney, Bosley Jr, have worked in concert with Shahid for years. ("Who's Afraid of Shahid" article and quotes posted previously). Shahid brought in FOI and likely the attorneys. Piaget (and probably others) called the media. (one of her videos) We also know Dacia Polk, of the New Black Panthers was recording one of Piaget's first on scene interviews and they are friends online (Gateway pundit). The NAACP issued an inflammatory statement that same day and reached out to Crump as had a couple others. Lesley's dad/Michael's grandpa called Sharpton. Right after Michael's blood is washed from the ground, Zaki Baruti of UAPO is talking about "protests", "demands" and "sustained" campaign and bringing in the DOJ, while Sen Jamilah Nasheed looks on. (Youtube vid last night)

Crump and Parks craft the story:
Benjamin Crump often meets his clients for the first time when they’re mourning the death of their young black son. And among the first things he tells them is what they should keep in mind at press conferences and in interviews with the media:
“All I want you to do is talk about your baby. Talk about how good he was and what your baby meant to you. I’ll handle the rest.”
http://www.buzzfeed.com/adriancarra...ily-like-others-before-turns-to-trayvons-lawy

Note he does not say talk about your son's life. It's emphasize innocence, youth, and goodness. So, Michael and who he was is quickly replaced with what will be beneficial.
Knowing how quickly everyone jumped into this and began making Michael's shooting a "cause", some things started to seem odd. Lesley had Michael at sixteen, Michael Sr was eighteen, they never married and later split up. So, why was it made to look like they were a couple in the way they were presented? Why were the stepmother that Michael appears to have been especially connected to, and the stepfather Louis Head, whose striking image flashed around the world holding the sign, "Ferguson Police Just Executed My Unarmed Son" suddenly banished? Well, we know from many posts that many surrounding this case, including Michael Sr, Dorian, Shahid, Nasheed, Dacia, Vickers, etc have criminal records. In fact, given how orchestrated this had been, I started looking at casenet for case players, so to speak. And there was Louis Head Berkeley, MO same age, for drug trafficking. Given that Michael's strong arm robbery was for swisher sweets, commonly blunt wraps, he rapped and spoke about weed on SM (Twitter, Instagram, GotNews and others), that could mean something. Contacts confirmed it and it was printed. (GotNews) Then Michael's Instagram account came out and I instantly recognized Louis with Michael, smoking. (GotNews, gatewaypundit) Apparently Louis may be gang affiliated as well. (GotNews) I'm not saying this to slam him, just to point out why he was erased and later in this post, it fits into Michael's mindset August 9th. His grief looks very genuine to me and I think it's incredibly disrespectful that he and stepmom have been stricken from the picture.

Just to highlight again how quickly the construct began, see Louis's poignant picture. Now, see this sad one used often here. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/11/us/police-say-mike-brown-was-killed-after-struggle-for-gun.html
In both pictures, he's wearing blue jeans, black tank top, black rosary. (Note Mom has a jacket on. I'll explain in a second.) A few days ago, I went back to some of the first news stories, reading and watching videos again with the knowledge that a narrative had been assembled very early on. I was surprised to run across a wholly different picture of Louis. Clearly doubling over repeatedly in grief, he has a nylon cap on his head and a gold grill in his mouth. I didn't save it or screenshot it. Didn't find it important. You can see him here at 2:35 and 3 come running out, same outfit, nylon cap, doubling over.
http://fox2now.com/2014/09/08/medic...ael-browns-body-lay-on-the-ground-for-4-hours
If you watch other early videos, you'll see Lesley yelling, in a tank top, tattoo and bra showing. Grieving parents' apparel doesn't matter. Many people wear grills, including celebs. But it was warm that day, no need for the jacket, so as I'd progressed through videos, I noticed it. http://www.wunderground.com/history...uson&req_state=MO&req_statename=Missouri&MR=1
IMO, while they're numb with grief, some of these instigators already know this is the case they'll plant their flag on, make their name through, and they round people up, compare notes, began to clean up the images. And this why facts be darned, they will not acknowledge them, but instead keep trying to deflect back to that compelling, false narrative that an innocent teen on his way to grandma's was gunned down by a racist cop for no reason, left to lay in the street uncovered for hours (see Crump repeat this lie in his letter to St Louis dispatch today). They are too invested and have spent too much effort and time for facts to get in their way.

Meanwhile, Michael has long since ceased to matter to the grievancemongers. His story matters to me and to his mindset that day, so let's look at warning signs in his life. Born to unmarried teen parents, bounced from house to house among family and friends (see previous long post), sleeping on a couch/(es). His lyrics say "Grandma raised me better than that" and that he started using substances at age 9. Where does a 9 year old get pot? Father, stepfather, and at least one close friend all use drugs, with criminal records. A picture of Michael with Louis emerges that looks they're toking together. (GotNews) Four different high schools, and had to get into a credit recovery program to graduate. Mom moves away, leaving him to finish school at grandma's house, where some say she was the only one he talked to. There's a disagreement with a neighbor. The girl he cares about and been intimate with moves on and gets angry with him. After barely graduating (still a big accomplishment), mom says do what you want. His new friend and maybe crash pad, Dorian is evicted August 6th. Per his teacher, he struggled to figure out where he fit in life. Understandable given the instability.

Why would a mom move away, while pushing their child to finish school? Why is it so hard to nail down the shifting narratives about where Michael lived? I was turning it over when something I read yesterday hit me. It said one of the reasons for the warrant campaign is that bench warrants impact housing. Subsidized housing can evict or disallow residency for certain felonies, drug use, gang affiliation, etc. Mom may have lost housing due to Louis's record and had to move, or chose to move to be with him. She would not be the first mother to choose a man over her child. I wonder when they began dating? In fact, McFadden is her maiden name, and neither her nor Louis wear rings. Stepdad may be a construct fabrication that some decided sounded better than live-in boyfriend.

If that's the case, it just represents more loss and rejection for him. More struggle with how to fit in. No harbor. We know Michael headed to Dorian's that morning. Maybe that's when he learned of the eviction. THC in his system. Frustrated that he keeps losing people and connections, sick of powers that be messing up his life (juvenile record, school admin, housing authority, landlord) he strong arms the store clerk, then a dang cop starts hassling him on the street (from his viewpoint). Screw that. I'll walk where I want. Then the officer backs up, and he knows he's got stolen goods, a record, and he's now an adult. He cannot allow this officer to take him in, period.

I am a huge believer that it starts in the family. I also think that these broken homes, where the kids are bouncing around, places those kids at an extreme disadvantage and also makes them likely to repeat that situation as an adult. It's a vicious circle that can be broken but it isn't easy. Just like I keep telling my daughter that she's going to end up marrying someone just like her dad and there's not a thing she can do about it no matter how much she consciously tries. Poor girl.

Why tell her that and then keep repeating it?

Re the ESPN thing.... if anything of substance, or not, came out on that show it would have been all over SM and repeated on other MSM sites imo. We would have heard it by now. jmo

Soooooo, I guess they're not going to that job fair

Good! More attention for the people that DO show up. I hope the job fair has a good turnout and there's at least a picture or two in the local media so we can applaud those that are trying.

  • #411
Totally disagree.
The majority that spoke at the city counsel meeting proudly wrapped themselves in their self imposed ignorance.

Has nothing to do with money. Please read the link I proved up thread. Poor districts were actually funded thousands more per pupil and yet those children still failed.
The failure isn't the schools.

Why has Crump been so quiet and why is he talking again, now?

I wonder if he's been notified the transcripts for the court proceedings are going to be released and published and he's trying to get ahead of it?

  • #413
Crump wants to forget what Chief Jackson stated earlier on. A shooting occurred during attempted apprehension of a suspect. Prior crimes by Michael are relevant. And, without those stolen cigarillos in his hand, this whole incident likely wouldn't have unfolded.

  • #414
wth? So cnn has tried to contact the paper, like ccn wants to know why the paper is pursuing this? really?

CNN is perfectly happy with the spin for systemic change, why actually look at facts?

Great, great post!!

I never considered the narrative including the family as well. It makes sense though and dNg it sometimes I feel way too niave.

Just one thing, your link re: mom and her jacket is taking me to a historical weather page

Third grad may be a stretch, but if we want to look into any discipline MB might have received in high school, I think it would only be fair to do the same with DW. Same with juvenile records, etc... After all, DW is the suspect in this case.

Nope, not a suspect. An officer involved in an on the job shooting, which are reviewed by the grand jury as a matter of process there.

Thanks! Yeah, I didn't put in links to everything as it was already too long. The pic with Louis holding her linked above that shows the jacket some. Videos show it more. The weather link was to show that the low that day was 70 degrees. It would've been warmer earlier especially during daylight.
