The "free groceries" will help attract a crowd.

How sad is it that it's a job fair, but they must explicitly state "come dressed appropriately."

To qualify for a terrorism designation under the federal law adopted after the 9/11 attacks, an event has to cause losses of $5 million or more. As of April 2014, Marathon bombing claims for property and business interruption and amounted to $1.9 million, according to a state report.

Terrorism covers damage to your property or losses to your business that occur as the result of terrorist acts. The Treasury Department certifies events as the result of terrorism or not for insurance purposes. Across the country, around 60 percent of businesses have terrorism coverage.

I don't get it. How can the threshold of an event being classified as terrorism only be $5 million??? That isn't a whole heck of a lot of money in the context of property damage. And how the heck can the damage from the bot on bombing only be $1.9 million????

“@Dreamdefenders: St. Louis County council meeting @ 6:00PM on Tuesday, September 16th, 41 S. Central Ave
Clayton, MO #DontShoot #Ferguson”

Really now!!!! Haven't the leaders had enough time to organize a committee from the community who could go before the council meeting with their complaints and recommendations to resolve their issues with LE? If they want to be taken seriously why are these Leaders not leading instead of putting people's lives in danger. Just my opinion.

Could it be because Americans have not had a lot of experience with terrorist on US soil?

Big takeaway from the article (for me) - insurance premiums for everybody in the area are likely to skyrocket. Another "white flight" will likely ensue except it will be all people near middle class status, regardless of skin color.

(Edited to change income to class.)

I think the insurance coverage probably varies from business to business depending on what company, the type and extent of coverage etc. Just guessing

I was just thinking of Castro and Che and there's someone wearing a Che shirt. An extreme example of pick your leaders carefully and be careful what you ask for, it may come with a big price.

31 December 1958 my parents were at a huge Cuban New Years Eve party in Los Angeles. Everyone was so happy and hopeful, we saw how that worked out for everyone.

Michael Brown family, protestors call for police officer’s arrest #STL http://ift.tt/1tNClzO

You know, I could understand if McCullough was refusing to take this to the GJ, and they were protesting to demand that it be presented to the GJ. But for heaven's sake, the case is being presented to the GJ. They truly need to take a chill pill and let the system go through its paces. This is just beyond ridiculous. It's theater of the absurd.

I hope people take advantage of this opportunity but will not be shocked if turn out is underwhelming. :(

Also, from that description of the job fair:

The resources will include free groceries and toiletries. Curry says there will be on-site interviews, so those looking for work should come dressed appropriately.

I have never seen a job fair where they give away free toiletries and groceries. Kind of odd.

JMO The case is not about protesters, nor is it about LE cheerleaders.....nor is it about the Ferguson school system. The question the GJ is in place to answer is whether or not there is probable cause to believe that a crime was committed. If they see no testimony or evidence that a crime was POSSIBLY committed, they will render no true bill. Otherwise, there will be an indictment. Nothing to do with sideline commentators or spinners. Just spoke to an @stlurbanleague staff member. Over 5,000 people attended the jobs & resource fair. Event extended by an hour, she said.

So another council meeting coming up on 9/16

Already? wow. I doubt the council members are looking forward to it. I wonder if they will do anything different this time. Maybe move it back to regular council site, try again to clear up regular business that backlogged, and then listen to the public that has signed up.

I know that our city council meetings only allow a certain number of speakers at the end of each meeting. I think they cap it at 20, anf you sign in and get on the list , just before the meeting starts.

I dont think the city will get any of their other business done, if every meeting turns into a public free for all that lasts for hours.
