reasonable thoughts, but it does appear that the police chief said again today that the officer did not consider them as suspected of any crime, he just stopped them for walking in the street, if there was anything else to it i have to think the police chief would have been sure to say so.
During the PC he also said a BOLO had been released.

What college? It could have changed his life forever.

It's a trade school that starts with a V. He was planning to study refrigeration/air conditioning.

I guess it could have changed him - in the long run. Someone who man handles the clerk and then attacks a cop and tries to get his gun while blocking the roadway is headed for no good in the short term, imho.

Thanks for finding that. That is lying to me. It is deception clear and dry.

IT is a shame. If this had been handled right from DAY 1, It would have been a whole different story. IMO

Keep reading. We still need a link because this post didn't stick either.

Just got back after a nice day outside to find out the officer did not even know about the robbery and stopped MB and friend for walking in the street.
I was hoping to come home and be able to feel better about this all but I don't. I feel more angry.

I hope they have every outside agency they can investigating. I think that the police chief should step down for the way he handled this and that there should be some real retraining of these officers and the dept.

It doesn't matter if the officer knew MB robbed that store, MB knew he robbed it and likely thought that was WHY the officer pulled up beside them. That could definitely have provoked MB to cause problems etc... as he thought he was going to get arrested.

What does that matter?! He was going to learn a skill. Make a life. Do you know how much hvac guys make? A LOT. It could have made a new life for him.

Would have been awesome if he wasn't shot dead for that. Not a death penalty crime. We're talking less than $50. What is his life worth?

He wasn't shot for the robbery of the store. He was shot for attacking a cop.

The Police Chief reported the officer's gun discharged in the cruiser. It is my opinion than any person who attempts to take a police officer's weapon is doing so in order to use "lethal force" on the officer.

Ballistics report will settle that issue, I think. And DNA and fingerprints and stipling. JMO

No because from what I am learning the cop let them leave and then he came back for them when he got the bolo..

And that does not mean that the kid was going to fight the officer for cigars.

A clerk and a cop are two different subjects.

I know. That's why it seemed so very very sad at first. Here was this young man, a high school graduate headed for a trade school with a very clear goal in mind, shot dead in cold blood on his way to his grandma's house.

Only that's not what it turned out to be. He's a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who attacked a cop and tried to take his gun.

What we first heard, at first, made him seem to be a very sympathetic victim. Not so much.

I want to know how many times he was shot? That matters to me a lot.

We don't know that it went down that way. Link?

We don't know that it went down that way. Link?

Which part do you need links for? They've all been reported in MSM.

He wasn't shot for the robbery of the store. He was shot for attacking a cop.

Again, link? I've read many times, and heard many times on the news, that he was stopped for jaywalking/walking in the middle of the street.

Said, they were walking in the middle of the street (not crossing it).

LEO told them either to get on the sidewalk or out of the street (w F-word, supposedly, but I'm not disputing that)
They did not comply.

One of them told LEO 'not but a minute away from our destination, and we would shortly be out of the street."
Do you believe polite wording of that response is accurate (I'm not disputing it)?
Further, in the time it took to say that, they could have walked from middle of street to sidewalk.

What was their point in staying in the street - to show LEO or drivers how tough they are?

LEO drove away, stopped, backed up, almost hitting them.
Shows they were still ignoring LEO's order/request/whatever to get out of the street.

Said, not sure why LE turned around.
Well, sidekick just said they were still in street, had still not followed order/request.

Said, LEO asked - what did you say?
Sounds like their earlier, politely worded response was followed by other words, leading LEO to backup.
But sidekick is mystified.

Said "We were so close, almost inches away,..."
Shows they were still in the street (not smart enough to get out of way of traffic? I'm agreeing LEO s/not have gotten so close))

Said when LEO tried to open his door aggressively, the door ricocheted both off me and Big Mike's body.
Were they both hit by door of 4-door cruiser?
Were they standing hip to hip, at precise angle for door to contact them?

Not saying his actions need to make sense to me. Not saying he is deliberately lying. IDK.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How did it start? Brown and Dorian Johnson, 22, were walking in the middle of the street, en route to either Brown's grandmother's house (according to Brown's mother and grandmother) or to Johnson's house (according to Johnson), when a Ferguson police officer confronted them.
The officer told the young men either "Get the f*** on the sidewalk" or "Get the f*** out of the street," according to Johnson's accounts to CNN and other news outlets.

The young men replied that they were "not but a minute away from our destination, and we would shortly be out of the street," Johnson told CNN.

The officer drove away but stopped and backed up, almost hitting the pair, Johnson said. He said he wasn't sure what prompted the officer to return. Johnson told MSNBC the officer said something to the effect of "What'd you say?"

"We were so close, almost inches away, that when he tried to open his door aggressively, the door ricocheted both off me and Big Mike's body and closed back on the officer," Johnson said."

It wouldn't matter if he walked away with nothing... he used force.

Yes, the interaction with the cop began when he was blocking the roadway and was told to get on the sidewalk.

I don't know what part of what I'm saying you need a link for.

Here is a video of Chief Jackson's press conference on Thursday morning August 14 (before the whole thing is taken over by Missouri State Highway Patrol) which includes questions by reporters about the name of the officer involved in the shooting of Michael Brown.

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/ferguson-police-chief-defends-tear-gas-318148163970

At approx: 10:50 minutes into the press conference a reporter says: (Paraphrasing) Anonymous put out a name this morning, Bryan something.
Chief: That's not the name, I haven't seen anyone else.
Reporter: Another name, Darren?
2nd Reporter: Darren Wilson.
Chief: I am not going to comment on that. (as all color goes out of his face)
Reporter: What do you think, are they just throwing names out there?
Chief: I think that's what they are doing, taking name after name after name and jus throwing them out there.

I just quoted from i.b.nora's post. I trust that the link that he/she provided was accurate and that the paraphrasing of it are accurate. If not, delete them all because I'm done looking. Just not that big of a deal.

Either you guys link up when asked or stop posting about it. I mean it. It's annoying when facts are stated and no one else has seen these facts. Plus, it's a forum rule and has been since before I ever became a mod.

Yes I watched it, but not online. Obviously my recollection wasn't 100% but if you want to get to the heart of the matter, the Chief was deceptive. From the previous post.

So while originally saying no comment, he goes on to play it off as Darren Wilson's name is just one of the names just being thrown out there. If you don't think that's deceptive then we'll agree to disagree. Having said that, I have picked up the tenor of your last 2 posts directed to me and instead of waging a subtle war of words, I'll step back and step away and leave it to you.

There was one thing I was going to post.

To LALaw and I believe katy is or is related to someone who is and to all the others that serve in law enforcement. I wanted to thank you for what you do. I know I have been critical of the show of force and I hope that hasn't offended. While I do think it is wise to question many things in life because that is how we advance as a society, I fear some of my posts have come across as questioning police officers in general...it's not what I intended. Those questions are directed at levels of decision makers, not at the 99% of the police force that is what we more commonly think of when thinking of law enforcement. It's a different subject, so I'll hit it too. As for the officer involved in the shooting...only time will tell what happens. Please don't take any criticisms voiced about police officers that abuse their authority as a criticism of law officers as a whole. Again, if any of my posts conveyed such a message, I apologize. It wasn't intended. Thank you for your service to your communities.

The Chief was not deceptive. He was trying to protect the safety of the officer by keeping his name confidential. The media has no right to know the identity of the officer because the public does not have the need to know it. Releasing it has placed not only the officer but his entire family in peril because of the lawless rioting by the public.

Maybe he should have thought of that before committing strong armed robbery (FELONY), disobeying direct orders from LE, and assaulting an officer.
