The real issue not being addressed is too many young people are being shot and killed in our inner cities that have nothing, nothing to do with the police. This should be the call, this should be the outrage. In St. Louis last night a one year old and her 23 year old father were shot in the BACK. The baby is in critical, unstable condition.
Imo this may be an initial underlying reason/reaction of some the sincere non-violent protestors, they may feel they are in a desperate situation, how to get rid of the violence in their own neighborhoods by criminals and then may feel like police aren't doing enough but cannot express that, so they take it out on police (even if it's unreasonable).
I think of places like Afghanistan when military is going after taliban etc. the locals may appreciate it, but some also become resentful of their presence. Some U.S. neighborhoods are like warzones and even bragged about like a badge of honor by criminals ("Chiraq") Idk jmo. Lots of soul-searching needed to sort what the problems are...imo.
