I was watching a bit of the "candle light vigil" on you tube. I noticed that some of the people are wearing masks. Just an interesting tid bit, in Canada if you wear a mask during a protest (or what is construed as an illegal gathering) you face 10 years in the federal pen (more time than most get for murder here). Too bad St.Louis or the States does not have this law, could have put a few of those trouble makers away for a while.

During the WTO riots in Seattle in 1999 the mayor banned gas masks for civilians. It was $500 fine and up to 6 months in jail. So it can be done AFAIK.

I do wonder what the motivation was for so much take down action on the part of LE today. They seem to be getting down to business today!

It seems to me it's all about give and take. When Johnson first started, they gave them a day and then during the days and then LE took the nights. Now, they gave them meetings, some changes with the courts, amnesty, apologies and they are taking their encampments and bases away from them. I think LE has been video taping them all along and have just been sitting on arresting people for the right day/time. To me, it's all about phases and this is all the next phase. They have gotten some things that they wanted(albeit not in relation to the MB/OW case), now it's time to tone down the rhetoric.

i really hope LE has flood lites mounted on top of their buildings tonite.

just like any main street/usa, the street's lined with surveillance cams. i wonder of the fbi has lent them their facial recognition software.

So DOJ has issues with wristbands, but no issue with LE being threatened, verbally abused and put in harms way-riots, looting, gunshots? What about residents who have to dodge protesters in street and business owners who feel compelled to arm themselves for their own protection? Protesters are right about one thing, there is no justice in Ferguson.

I think the GJ is done. I believe they can wait until November in case more information comes in but I do think they are finished. Just a feeling. I also think by what is going on today that the DOJ found nothing wrong within the department, they are good to go. It is possible that nothing significant surfaced from DOJ's meeting the other night. I also hope that whoever the DOJ spoke with will get a letter from the DOJ explaining why their issues are no different than the rest of the citizens in the US and those that have real problems are addressed. Not sure what the weather is like in November in MO but I think it is a good choice to wait until then to release their findings. jmo

DOJ will find SOMETHING wrong in the department if for no other reason than to justify their existence. Means job security in the DOJ if they have oversight or whatever.

You have to buy a ticket to jump on metrolink. Some people just jump on without buy a ticket. Sounds like they're checking passengers for tickets now. Small fine for it but a fine none the less.

They said it, but krimekat or someone was saying it's easy for people to sneak on and not pay fare for Metrolink, iirc.

There are no ticket takers when you get on. You purchase a ticket from a machine and then just get on one of the cars when the doors open and get off when you arrive at your destination. I have actually never seen anyone on the metro check people for tickets, so yes, typically very easy.

I don't think it's that easy. I'm thinking that right now they are preparing for the near future and they don't want to incite some people any more than possible.
Plus the police are on the clock being paid, on their own time is different. I do have a ton of respect for these police though, they're amazing!
Now for Nadal, she needs a good talking to.

wearing these bracelets were from, and we have no other evidence confrming that Ferguson
police officers were wearing these bracelets

Don't even know if it was Ferguson officers wearing the wristbands.
