Well I must say that one of their hopes became a reality last night when a police officer was shot and they all cheered. Not exactly the image they need to project to make their point. They were at the point of hysteria when there was a rumor that a child had been killed for shooting the officer. There was no child but protestors were convinced there were and probably still feel the police are covering up yet today.

Some are actually speculating that officers shot themselves.

YEP. Many tweets today implying there was a coverup and 'more to this' than we know so far. Some want to have proof any cops were shot.

You have a legal right to do so. Police will often try to discourage it, but accountability should be a two way street, IMHO. Why would anyone want less rights? Mind boggling, MOO.

Discouraging it is putting it politely. The public needs to be more educated as to what LE can and cannot ask you to do.

The public needs to be more educated period. This isn't about what LE can or can not do. This is about educating themselves so that they can better themselves and their situation. Unfortunately it appears that many of them don't feel the need to do so.

Merely repeating the same statement- YOO- is not helping any. You have a link to back it up- or please edit to qualify as your opinion only. Thanks.

go ahead & try to record your traffic stop . . . let's see if it's admitted in a Court of Law  just because one can do something doesn't make it "evidence" WOW

Someone needs to ask Mr. McCulloch how many speeding tickets were issued by a cop to a cop if the law should apply to everyone.

Shouldn't we first determine if any cops were speeding when they were not legally allowed to?

Thanks for saying what I can't. ;)

LOL. I don't think there is anything on a ticket that asks where you are employed. Cops get stopped too, and many of them get tickets but I doubt you will find a database that carries that information.

No, you don't

Mind Boggling for sure

Yeah, I do. Google might help, there are dozens of links that say the same thing- legal.

"Citizens have the right to take pictures of anything in plain view in a public space, including police officers and federal buildings. Police can not confiscate, demand to view, or delete digital photos. Private property owners can set different rules for recording, but it did not appear from Lowery’s account that the McDonald’s manager was objecting to his video recording."

The public is supposed to learn driving laws before they start driving aren't they? I don't know about MO but in IL it is unlawful to text or use a hand-held phone while driving. I can't think of a better way to get a ticket than to try to shoot video of the officer after I'm pulled over for another violation.

'stereotypes?' I used to think they were stereotypes. But many of these 'peaceful' protestors have brought those stereotypes to life. I am seeing it in living color now. Angry, vicious vitriol aimed at 'white cops.' So why wouldn't a cop want to frisk a young black man when encountering him?

I personally think majority of the time it has nothing to do with skin color but mentality that shines through with the way they ( those that have issues with LE,authority, rules etc) act in public that gets profiled.

Okay let's get off the racial issues, again. Even I'm getting sucked in. Back on topic.

Also, even in the 70's my kids did not tell others their Dad was a police officer. Mainly because if they did something they weren't suppose to that was petty they would be ridiculed with "Your Dad is a cop, you should know better" as if they were held to a higher standard. They still complain about that today so it leaves a lasting impression on a child.

Well said. A whole lot of wrong on all sides and until all sides acknowledge their own wrong true peace will be difficult to attain.

Did you see America After Ferguson? Really enlightening stuff- several leaders in the LE community spoke about their experiences in healing communities, and part of it was reminding the officers that they are there to serve the community. I posted a few links earlier.

that & the Right To Privacy -- again, you may be "legally" able to but is it really worth your time 'cause you're going to be arrested/detained -- maybe set up a camera in your vehicle like PD does if you have issues

It is amazing to me that there are those that defend these NOT peaceful protesters day after day after day. Especially when those defending them have not been up at night watching the live feed and seeing for themselves what those NOT peaceful protesters are doing and saying to LE night after night after night. Those police officers have been extremely restrained even when having threats and chants of wanting them dead thrown and shouted in their faces. The police officers have had the lives of their families threatened. They have stood their ground without any reaction to the constant verbal abuse that is being shouted at them. I know who I feel for and it sure as hell is not the NOT peaceful protesters.

Once you have been stopped, you can record it. Many people do it as self protection these days. Sad they feel they must, but it is legal- and completely within their rights.

I think some are just too invested in the narrative to look for the truth.
