wow. Didnt Capt. Johnson just say NO, wasn't going to happen?

He's clearly in over his head. This should have happened days ago.

Just watching this very intelligent old school civil rights leader on CNN, talking about how the whole world is watching, and this has to open a dialogue about race and fairness towards young black males. And it makes me so sad. Because my own kids are mixed race and it saddens me that Michael Brown would be the poster boy for young black males. Why him? Why not choose someone who was truly innocently walking down the road and shot by a villainous killer.

But it bothers me that an entire nation of black Americans will now have to justify and lionize this kid's thuggish behavior. They will make a martyr out of someone who violently shoved a little old man into a wall, just so he could take a box of wraps back home. I do not think he should be the global example of young black males that we should hold as a martyr. jmo

I noticed that about Don Lemon too. It seems they ended his interview pretty fast because he was so frustrated with the actions of the people who were looting and shooting, very exasperated and emotional. Capt. Johnson looks like he is bent under the heavy burden of an unsuccessful peaceful night happening way before curfew. He looks like his heart is broken.

He may have said it but it wasn't tonight and it wasn't live.

The press conference was live tonight. It started at about 1:15 a.m. central time.

The executive order had already been signed, sealed, and delivered by the time Captain Johnson gave his presser.

For some reason, he was either unaware of it, or he wasn't authorized to comment on it, or ...

I think it would help if Capt. Johnson and Governor Nixon got on the same page, kwim?

I feel like the Governor just kind of threw the good Captain to the wolves. :wolf:

Signed on Monday, Aug. 18.

Yep, which would be any time after midnight tonight.

Apparently, Captain Johnson was either unaware of the order, or he wasn't authorized to comment on it, or...

At any rate, I have no doubt that it was signed before the Captain gave his presser, because within seconds of the presser ending, MSM was reporting on it.

I bet a lot of Missouri voters wish Gov. Jay Nixon was on the ballot in November. He's been a disgrace imo.

All this chaos and violence over an incident that the public doesn't even know exactly what happened yet. Blah---what's wrong with people.

Is anybody else watching the two female reporters on vice news? Three different police officers have confronted them about just roaming around the area.
I hope they stay safe.

Yes I watched those 2 earlier. They convinced a local guy to lead them into the command area on Canfield (not sure aout that location). LE were not happy to see them and promptly made sure they were safely escorted to the area safe for media.
