Well, it's kinda hard for LE to determine who is who in the large crowds. It's not like the trouble makers wear signs saying, "Looter here!" or "I'm a Shooter!"

No it isn't. Just like when there are crazy people after a world series or superbowl. You find the people who are committing crimes and arrest them not everyone or reporters. I wish someone would go in and save these leaders from themselves.

Why is not a single person demanding answers and justice for the young male that was gunned down and DIED last night?????

Me too, pot just does not make one aggressive unless you call, violently attacking a bag of potato chips aggressive! Well then!

i have seen clinical paranoia , a lot, most often in a seclusion room -- it is a different entity entirely! I think there will be something else as well crack? meth?
from JLSC's post above:

I'll take one for the team by busting myself. I smoked it from morning 'til night for about 35 years and only stopped when employer drug tests became the norm. I'd still be smoking now that I'm retired but my current circle of acquaintances does not include anyone who lights up so I am no longer "in the know"

my point is that, along with feeling "mellow" or "right," IMO the paranoia can be more correctly described as feeling a little bit shy or self-conscious in places outside your comfort zone. these were temporary perceptions and did not last. if I had shopping or errands planned, those got done before I toked because I didn't enjoy wondering if someone could tell that I was buzzed. this was an endless topic of discussion over the years and I will confidently say that 95% of my compadres felt the same. it related not at all to the stereotypical "they're coming to take me away" or "everyone's out to get me" paranoia

as an aside, I have been honest with my GP and he knows my history, and he prescribes Paxil for anxiety. I have always been anxious, since childhood, and it is his opinion that I was previously self-medicating with one of the best anti-anxiety agents on the planet

so in my biased opinion, I'm expecting to hear that something in addition to pot was behind MB's aggression

They actually mentioned this on the fox coverage that was being discussed upthread. The onscene reporter mentioned that the troublemakers are seeming to hang on the outskirts of the protest til the evening progresses and tempers flare and then they disburse more into and amongst the peaceful protesters and sort of hide among the crowds of those who are not causing problems and then all hell breaks lose.

I do not envy authorities trying to gauge who is simply a pissed off citizen and who is a rioter/looter/burner/bottle thrower/etc.

This morning when I was watching the coverage they showed a woman going around picking up trash. It broke my heart for the people that live there and are just trying to be heard correctly and peacefully. They need to be the ones who control the crazy.. Like the night when peaceful protesters were keeping the looters out of the store. There are a lot of good people there. It is just so sad.

And he said that after the officer shot Mike, he let the two boys go. Right... Also, I find it hard to believe DW drove up next to the boys and aggressively said to "get the eff off the street"... Yeah, the part where Dorian claims the officer said "I am going to shoot you" doesn't ring true to me. But Dorian has been speaking out to the press all week, now that he is officially a witness in the case, he better stick to the story he has been telling or lose all credibility.

Dorian 's atty being interviewed by Greta on Fox. And some of what he says seems ridiculous. jmo

Also, he paints a picture of some very bold, brash behavior. He said the cop drives past the 2 teens, who had just committed the robbery 10 minutes earlier, and he asked them to step out of the way of traffic. And they did not do so, kept walking down middle of the road. Then cop reverses, and asks again, and they say NO< WE ARE ALMOST THERE< WE ARE STAYING WHERE WE ARE...

That is very stupid defiant behavior when you are carrying stolen merchandise from a strong armed robbery. Why not just step on the sidewalk, like asked? MB would probably be alive, smoking his cigarillos if they had.

Anyway, the lawyer says that after they said NO, the cop reaches out and grabs big Mike by the throat. And when Mike struggles to break free, the cop then says I AM GOING TO SHOOT YOU and grabs his gun.[really? ] [He left out the car door slamming him and the fight inside the car, imo]

Bull, IMO. Everything that can be done is being done. They've been heard.
Now it's time for peace, calm and some common sense.

The "peaceful protestors" ARE NOT helping anything at this point, they are ADDING to the commotion, confusion and ridiculousness. A young man was SHOT and DIED last night in the middle of that mess... No one cares about HIM.

This is about being part of the circus now.

All IMO

I just verified with my husband, a firearms expert, an ex federal law enforcement and an expert marksman- a person who is standing still and is hit by fire will fall backwards. A person moving towards someone who is hit by fire will fall forwards.

(For the record, in my hubby's training for federal law enforcement, they were required to draw from a holstered position and fire off 3 shots and hit center mass of target in 1 second in order to pass qualifications. I have no idea how he did it... I can't even get my brain to think that quickly...)

Thank you so much to your husband and Tawny for weighing in. I really appreciate their expertise as guns are foreign to many of us.

So this Captain Johnson (Missouri State Patrol) is the same officer who pulled a gun on unarmed motorcyclists last year?

Bystanders (one of them a teenager) are being shot and killed.

I don't think the peaceful protesters CAN control the crazy, dangerous, armed thugs, nor should they be expected to.

I'm glad LE is taking a more forceful stance. This has gotten so out of hand it doesn't even begin to resemble anything remotely akin to a "peaceful demonstration".

Good lord , if they are going to do a debrief for LE they are going to have to rent a football stadium for the sessions!!!!

Where are the parents of these young teenage boys running the streets up to and after midnight?
Don't they know or care where their boys are????
