(letter in it's entirety)

Just my thoughts here ; but it looks like Trayvon's mother thinks some people, mostly lawmakers/law enforcement, don't care that their young sons are dead.

That is not true. NO ONE is celebrating their deaths. I'm not.
Any time a person dies in the manners of these young people, is not a cause to rejoice. It is sad, and I'm thinking about what might have been.
What if different choices had been made ; and different paths followed ?

And to those looting, whether they are from Ferguson or St. Louis or elsewhere --- shame on you ! You looters are tearing down the very fabric of society that you feel owes you something. (--speaking to looters and other violent acts, not the peaceful protesters !)
There. I said it.
Apologies if this post comes off as harsh and unforgiving.
:moo:

edited to add : Sorry, my links aren't working ---will try again

Frankly, I'm more upset by the two that have died as a result of these protests.
I think it's two? Media doesn't care much about them...no one else in ferguson does either.

That's sad.

The Highway Patrol captain in charge of security in Ferguson, Missouri, expressed hope Tuesday that peaceful protesters would stay home and allow authorities to deal with “those who have been ruining our community.”

Capt. Ron Johnson, who grew up in the area, spoke after a chaotic night in which 78 people were arrested and two people were hit by gunfire. I

...........protest during the daytime and stay home at night and let us take those who have been ruining our community and take them and deal with them,”

....He praised police for their restraint late Monday and early Tuesday. He also faulted some members of the media for glamorizing violent criminals and giving them a platform.

Those ruining our community?

Would that be those criminals that steal, pelt LE with bottles, refuse to obey laws, fire guns unlawfully, shoot people....
Because apparently they don't want law enforcements help POLICING ...oh no...LE is the enemy.... That guns down innocents skipping to granny's house...for no reason.

I am
Furious...

I think if they're moving LE can see what they're doing, carrying, etc.

Crowds...standing makes that much more difficult.

So far, his involvement is drawing praise from the state’s Republican senator, Roy Blunt, but also words of caution. Blunt said that he and Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill will join the attorney general on Wednesday, and that he’s been “pleased with my conversations with the attorney general and civil rights division regarding their helpful understanding that they aren't taking over this investigation, but are conducting a parallel review.”

He called a “parallel federal investigation” into the death “important” but cautioned against DOJ taking on too large a role.

“While the federal government can assist with that investigation, the federal government should not assume the state and local governments' responsibilities,” Blunt said in a statement.

I don't tolerate it.

I talk to mine, ALL the time. teens should think too much of themselves to idolize gangsters or wannabes. IMO

But mine weren't REALLY throwing gang signs. My daughter used to do some Chris Brown sign that girls who loved him did. It just LOOKED LIKE a gang sign. I think it was his initials. And my son never threw actual gang signs either. They were actually the deaf signs for our area code, that his friends always did too.

I completely disagree. It matters a great deal. It speaks volumes on his character. It shows exactly how Mike would have reacted to a police officer stopping him.

A simple thanks wasn't enough.

I think that is what he was saying, if we can get it quiet for a bit we can clear out the people that keep turning this into violence I watched a long time - there were many instances of overreaction IMO - just creating confusion cause they were confused. IMO too many different forces here , no cordination, everyone is tired!

If I was the gov(!) I would have all LE from other area go home, put one entity (guard) in control of entire operation, which would result in consistancy which in and of itself would calm it out.

Having 5 police forces (or how ever many) with different training, different bosses, different equipemsnt just reults in chaos in an already chaotic environ - it IS adding to this mess IMO

Otherwise people congregate in large numbers and that leads to trouble, especially since the curfew was lifted. jmo

Details on arrests, peaceful protesters vs. non-peaceful ones etc. Many of the looters arrested are from Illinois and Texas. I hope they catch them all and make a Facebook page with all the details. SMH....

DeAndre Smith, fresh from looting the QuikTrip on a recent night, told reporters: “I’m proud of us. We deserve this, and this is what’s supposed to happen when there’s injustice in your community. St. Louis — not going to take this anymore.”

Edit- bad link, I'll post a working link in a moment.

Hu? "We deserve this?........... It's what's suppose to happen?"
What an ignorant, stupid, pathetic thing to say.. imhoo

I will say that It's my opinion that as long as they (protesters) are moving they can't cause trouble. I know in Nola they keep people moving in the streets during mardi gras to keep the pick pocketers from hitting, and fights from erupting. When they show people on strike they are walking, even in a small circle but they are walking/moving. idk jmo

I will reinforce my thoughts on that later in life with my kids but ask them right now at the age of 6 and 8 how I feel about duck face scissor fingers ( side wards peace sign) and I think they will understand how I would be with signs that represent criminals. This even goes as far as their friends knowing they better watch it, my camera tends to throw things at people who duck face scissor finger it. LOL

I Googled and found several references and his tweet. He says he's confirmed the report and is filling the FOIA this morning.

Something tells me that the PD and judge, maybe, who was lambasted by the DOJ and activists for releasing the surveillance video is going to be scared witless about giving out a juvie record.

Can a juvie record be released if the juvenile is deceased?
I have no idea, seriously asking. tia

My guess is for the same reason I let my 5 yr olds run around from 6:30-7pm each nite before bed-- to tire them out so they'll go to sleep!

Went to search for more info on the person(s) shot and killed ; at one time there were reports of someone being run over by another protester's car ---cannot find it now but will look . "Nice" of MSM to just ignore those folks. :maddening:

I will add... LE did the best job last night. IMO they have become very organized and responded to outbursts.

Because our brothers and cousins routinely rob convenience stores and resist arrest ?

That did it.... I am now LOLing

Totally agree with both of you - the only thing any of us "are" is our past behaving in the present!!

IMO same thing with cops mother - all that stuff influences his existance today - cant be any other way! Just life!
