I believe Josie said the boys shoved him back in the car? I got the impression from Josie's version that he was in the process of getting out and then got shoved back in, door slamming shut. I also notice Dorian describes it clearly (maybe too clearly?) as the door ricocheting off the boys because (at the fault of DW) the car was pulled so close to the two.

Tawny- I have a hard time picturing that too- window was open I assume since DW had seconds before told the boys not to walk in the street. I guess the door frame could have hit him in the head though. Plus, Dorian's choking scenario... he was sure to stress that it was DW was the aggressor.

I think Dorian tailored his story to cover his own butt. He possibly feared he would be found guilty of some aggression himself toward DW unless he managed weave the "cop as the aggressor" story into his version. JMO

I have heard both scenarios speculated, but for myself, I'm having a hard time picturing how the officer could have been hit in the face with the car door when he's still IN the vehicle. JMO.

I don't think there is confusion. The fact is AG Holder is investigating civil rights charges against officer Wilson just as the DOJ investigated Zimmerman for civil rights charges (Federal charges against Zimmerman were not laid).

I will be surprised if Federal charges are laid against Officer Wilson but the mere fact that Holder has opened an investigation is offensive in itself and is an example - IMO - of reverse racism. If Officer Wilson was black there is no way the DOJ would be sticking it's nose in this case.

AG Holder's letter makes it pretty clear the DOJ is conducting a broader investigation into whether there are civil rights violations being committed by the Ferguson Police Department such as racial profiling. There is a lack of diversity on the police force with just a few black officers being employed. I think what will result will be the department might be absorbed into another department in the metro area in order to gain a more diverse officer base.

Starry Night, thanks. Has anyone done or requested a "scanner rewind" for this case between 11:30AM and 1:00PM on the day of this event? In order to highlight the traffic and identify what calls made and maybe pinpoint what and when officer knew of convenience store incident and when backup was called for?

I do not know how to do the rewind or transcribe it. I imagine today's uptick in traffic has to do with the officer shooting this afternoon and the hell that's gonna be raised tonight. JMO

AFAIK, Holder has not yet announced his decision on charges against Zimmerman.

This is what I originally wrote with errors, I am not seeing where I assumed any ease. I meant to write:




I was getting tired and unconsciously self edited. I apologize for not being able to be more specific or acknowledge a larger time frame than even 2 generations in attaining relatively full assimilation. I didn't mean to minimize any specific ethnic group that faced obstacles or make sweeping generalizations, just to acknowledge that African-Americans have faced more obstacles and far longer than any other ethnic group outside of possibly Native Americans.

I have ancestors that came over as indentured servants, others were Cherokee and were forcibly removed from their ancestral homes, and others were Mormons that were kicked across the country until they settled down in Independence, Mo. in the middle of the 19th century. My family faced hardships in the Great Depression, fought in WW II, and served during Vietnam like many others in this country.

However, I don't think that compares to having your ancestors not allowed to read for centuries. Not allowed to vote in many instances until 50 years ago. Only allowed a small segment of jobs or places to live until relatively recently. Facing suspicion and distrust from your fellow Americans seemingly all the time. I didn't have an ancestor lynched 90 years ago destroying a family's forward growth. I didn't have a grandfather denied going to college to become a teacher due to the color of his skin. I didn't have a father serve 10 years on a drug charge impeding his ability to support my family and give me guidance as a young boy or teen.

Life is hard for everyone some more than others, I not denying that in anyway, but try and imagine your life with even more obstacles to attaining an education and employment. I can only speak for myself, but I would not welcome it.

I must keep my response short and sweet or face encroaching the TOS and that would be a bad thing as I love this forum.

May I suggest that you re-trace the datelines of some of the events for accuracy that I have boldened in your above post.
And if you chose to do so, then I have a simple question to ask: what does all of that long ago yesteryear history have to do with today? How relevant is it to today's lifestyle and how is that impacting the actions of today in a real sense? Historically, there has been **genocide** committed against certain subsets and yet we don't hear their harshness or feel and see their anger.

In reality, our **behavior today** builds our future tomorrow.
