Anyone who lied to the police about this event needs to be punished to the fullest extent IMO.

Including police, if it turns out?

RE: MB must be a 🤬🤬🤬🤬...

I think that notion is much more about the store and lunging at a 5 foot 4 person in such a menacing manner - so it seems quite logical that a minute later the officers version (he lunged at me) is congrunet with behaovior we all saw with our own eyes on tape. It is just congruent behaviors ..... using his size in a power and control fashion

Yes, I think there is no way for a reliable media source to know this. The grand jury hasn't even met yet...
In case people didn't click thru, it indicates Officer Wilson will be cleared. Someone must have misunderstood what "could" happen and posted this on the FB page. imo

They are gradually leaking information so that it will diffuse more slowly. If they wait until the point a grand jury fails to return an indictment creates a flash point and they want to avoid that.

I'm sorry Wysteria, it is just so disheartening that you (and many others)can come to that sort of conclusion without knowing ONE thing about him...... Don't you see that it is that sort of assumption and prejudice that is causing the frustrations that lead to these kind of protests?
I do respect your opinion, I just wish more people could look for good in others before they assume the worst.... When this planet becomes a peaceful place; that is how it will be achieved.

Did anyone look for the good in Officer Wilson before assuming the worst?

I was just thinking about that. He has to be scared to death.

No more frightened than Officer Wilson IMO

I do. I also hope they have arranged for protective custody for Mr. Johnson and his family. It is a toxic environment he is in and it takes a lot of courage to tell the truth.

He probably had no choice when presented by investigators with evidence thoroughly debunking his lies. The hero train left the station without Mr. Johnson long ago imo.

yah, but, if DJ has admitted that MB physically attacked DW in an attempt to take his weapon how can that not result in DW being cleared via the GJ?

There would be nothing to present to the grand jury

He may have been "forced" to tell the truth because the ballistics came back

I bet you are right. I bet that thumb shot was at close range in the SUV

I think there is no conclusive evidence nor conclusion as stated by LE. <modsnip>

Slap! Ya know that's what we do here! Lol
Love you even though we disagree on this one:)

Which Mr. Johnson?

is the media staging area in a different area tonite??? Someone please answer this .....

I believe it is. Last night the media stepped in between the officers and the crowd at a very heated time. They were not obeying orders by LE to get on the sidewalk. In an early am press conference Capt Johnson reprimanded the media for their actions. jmo

I was one who initially took Michael Brown exactly as presented and assumed the officer was heavy handed and probably racist. Then I sat back and watched as more came out. I started out feeling one way and now feel that young Mr. Brown was aggressive toward the officer or that the officer may have had real reason to believe that he was a serious threat after some sort of aggressive confrontation at the car. I never did believe the friend who was with him's account because it was all kinds of sketchy, constantly changing to fit new info coming out. If a police officer is going to abuse his power and let his inner racist out he is not going to do so in broad daylight in the middle of the street in front of at least one witness he knows about but pulling a teen by the shirt collar into his open window, pulling his weapon and saying I am going to shoot you now. It is my very strong opinion that did not happen and that is what his friend initially said happened. It is simply INcredible in the truest definition of that word.

I do not believe Brown deserved to die because he appears to have committed a strong arm robbery over petty cigarellos. I do not believe Brown deserved to die at all. but I have come to believe based in part by an alleged witness's excited utterances heard on video tape taken just after the shooting and the autopsy report by Baden that young Mr. Brown may have caused his own death by some very very stupid actions and decisions made within a matter of seconds.

If the investigation into this shooting shows that the officer did in fact act improperly and used inappropriate force for whatever the circumstance was in those brief moments, I believe he should be charged. But I simply have not seen it proven or backed by evidence thus far and no amount of rhetoric (not from you) from the dignitaries and talking heads and analysts, all of whom have no more factual info than any of us will be getting me there.

What IS very clear to me is that Ferguson has problems. Deep social long existing problems. If this outcry over Mr. Brown's death has done anything, it has placed a bright spotlight on the serious and deep mistrust that exists by citizens for their police department and their elected officials.

I don't know if Mr. Brown needs justice in the form of murder charges against officer Wilson. But it surely seems evident that this community needs change and serious problems addressed. So if that is what justice ends up looking like I am all for it. I just hope it's not at the expense of an innocent man's reputation, career and future.

Eloquent!

This is indeed a rare case on which we do not agree. And PUNCH! You owe me a Coke!

To me, this kind of protesting about an individual shooting incident, prior to any investigation being concluded, is bizarre. But if people want to protest, fine. I just wish someone in the position of leadership to the protestors and community would take 1 minute to explain the justice system. I doubt they really want prosecutions to be based on how many people yell for you to be prosecuted.

They are just conflating two entirely different things and no one is leading them to a sensible protest/action. I can already see many things that should be done in that community. Most importantly get out the vote. This minority majority city complains of all white leadership yet I read that the voting rate for minority community members is incredibly low. They could easily change the leadership in that town by concerted action and voting. No one is making the point that this change is needed and possible. Instead, what they want is simply a white officer convicted without regard to the evidence. It's so sad.

Jmo. That is where I think the huge gap is. I am looking at this situation- just the shooting of a man. But others are looking at what they believe the shooting symbolizes. With the evidence provided to date, my opinion is that this was not LE being racist. I think we should separate this shooting from the concerns and feelings the community has voiced and move forward. Even have separate threads. One for the MB case, one for the rioters and opportunists, and one for the protestors and their actions and goals. Jmo
