Everyone being told to move to the sidewalk. People are not happy about it. Not sure the reason for this order. 11:00 p.m. being the bewitching hour? Someone yelling "it's a trap?"

My apologies, I wrongly assumed by the tone of your posts that you were of a particular opinion. There have been statements that have indicated potential legitimate reasons that caused the Officer to end Mike's life. You find none of that compelling? I do not know the extent of the Wilson's injuries for a fact, I do not know whether the woman who gave an account that allegedly came from Wilson himself as fact either. But I do know that the Chief of Police for STL County, not the Ferguson chief (Wilson's boss) said there was an altercation in the car and a shot was fired for a fact. So, perhaps the better question is, why are some people willing to give so much weight to three non-credible witnesses, but yet give none to the chief's statement and the fact that there isn't one wispy hint of impropriety known about Wilson? While those two things are not evidence, they're far more credible than anything we've heard to support excessive force, yet so few who make comments like "Mike needed killing" ever really acknowledge the weight of what has been presented. By the way, no one here has even hinted that Mike needed to die, deserved to die, etc. Why does defense of Wilson have to have some sinister hatred of Mike attached?

BTW, I have no idea what issue you are talking about, I only know two things that loosely relate. One, grinding an axe from elsewhere here isn't the way to go. (See my infractions file, I learn lessons the hard way sometimes...love you Fran and Kimster!) Two, I'm a zero tolerance zealot for crimes like rape and murder of children, you'll find few people less sensitive to the rights and regard for these animals who steal the innocence of youngsters. Permanent incarceration in a medical facility for the insane and execution of the simple freaks. So, I'm all in on whatever you are referring to. Just don't think it is related in any way, shape or form to the discussion of this case. ;)

Just never mind. I am in tears of frustration.

It is not comparing the cases, it is comparing how they are allowed to be discussed here.

I just don't understand how a kid who stole cigars is worse than a kid who raped and murdered a little girl.

But apparently I just don't get it

Thanks for your post, BTW. :)

He should NOT be afforded the option of "avoiding prison" if he lied. He should go to prison and throw away the key. That's a one strike and you're out offense, imo.

Call it heavy-handed. He could have prevented all of this crap by telling the truth.

Must admit, before I knew much about this case, when I thought the cop snapped, I did find it curious to see DJ interviewed within a group of men. Wonder if he felt pressured or obligated to head down a certain road? As the sign on QT said, snitches get stitches.

You would not mind?
What does that mean? That because he is so handsome/famous/rich/intelligent whatever-that you would mind otherwise? Please explain.............

I think he's gorgeous plus he has great buns LOL. I'm so shallow, my bad.

Do you have a link to this article? I believe there is a big difference between giving a report to CNN or the like and giving the FBI a sworn statement and actually being deposed to give testimony under oath. If he was trying to lie to the FBI and they knew based on autopsy and DNA from gun and the police car it was a crock what he was saying, I'm sure they advised him and his attorney what the penalties would be for lying. Could have been a real revelation for him.

Disenfranchised?

IIRC, MSM (sorry, no link) a few days ago, referred to Ferguson voter turnout in last election (I believe Nov. 2012)
as 12% of the registered voters. So the other 88% of registered ppl could have voted but did not.

I just searched for data to support this but could not substantiate. JUst found info re county wide turnout.
If anyone finds anything showing this data to be off, pls post.

IIUC, Jesse Jackson,Rev. Al, and/or others from outside St. Louis metro area are planning voter registration drive soon.

If Ferguson's discord is based on disenfranchised ppl, it could be in part,
due to ppl simply not turning out to vote in their own interests, whatever those interests are.

JMO.

I've heard a theory floated that the reason Al and Jesse are still messing with this case is that they hope there are no charges against Wilson so they can use that angst to push for more votes for agenda driven politicians that will do more bidding for Al and Jesse's causes than the people of Ferguson. That's the last thing they need. But, it's just a theory.

He really does need to get some sort of award for his efforts.

Wiki quote:

Pool's coverage has been carried and syndicated by multiple mainstream outlets such as NBC, Reuters, Al Jazeera, RT, and TIME. He has also been featured in Fast Company, Wired, and Time.

Pool was featured as "The Media Messenger of Zuccotti Park" in Time's Person of the Year 2011 issue, the magazine's top 140 Twitter feeds of 2012 and is a Time 100 nominee.

In 2013 Pool joined Vice Media producing and hosting content as well as developing new methods of reporting.

Best Journalist in Social Media Shorty Award - 2013

I hope he stays indie because I think anything else would cramp his style

they're 16 and "know" things through some SM rumor mills as I've never seen them pick up one of our newpapers and when I check their online activity I've never seen news sites unless it's ESPN type sites. But they "know" this horrible, crazy, racist cop shot a surrendering kid for not getting on the sidewalk quick enough. I always love a chance to go through our constitutional system so they were "treated' to a walk through due process as well as a reminder that a large percentage of what you read on the internet is flat out wrong, especially if its written by other 16 yr olds.

Had the same experience with my 17 year old daughter.

She kept saying, "but it's on Instagram" we had a long talk

Nor has MB.

He's dead. You can't charge a dead man with a crime. But, we do know he committed at least three- robbery, assault, battery. That's indisputable.
