See, right or wrong they just want him arrested. No trial no jury just arrest him. Makes no sense to me at all.

ITA. Lynch mob mentality. I had so hoped we had moved on as a country from that horrendous time.

Some people will still say he shouldn't have shot him 6 times. Just had this converstion with a friend of mine, and she cannot get it through her head that a big guy don't go down/stop coming atcha too quick. She deals emotionally, I deal with facts and law. We have much different ingrained thought patterns. The beauty of it is we can still be friends and love each other despite the differences. Too bad the whole world isn't like that.

My opinion only

Awww. I have a best friend for over 30 years, and politics is our off limits topic!

A quick Google indicates over 600,000 state/local police in the U.S., many of whom must be watching the Ferguson saga with great interest. Gov. Nixon couldn't be elected dogcatcher now imo, and the Fraternal Order of Police endorsement, one most politicos covet, is likely paying close attention too.

The MB killing case reminds me of a now similar case recently in Texas. In the case and death of Alfred Wright the family also insisted the DOJ become involved and supervise the death investigation. So the DOJ has been down this road so to speak at least one other time this year. In that particular case at the end of the investigation the DOJ concurred the COD and MOD, yet to this day the family is still in denial as to their son's drug use and overdose.

I think they are also involved in the Kendrick Johnson death. The common denominator is black victim & alleged white perp.

:scared: If that is true, I'm really scared for the people of Ferguson.

I completely understand what you're saying and ITA.

But, it shouldn't be the case because all they are wanting is the truth and for justice to prevail, right?

Oh man! I heard on Fox that they've gotten wind of a plan to kill a LE officer in retaliation.

I haven't commented on this topic at all... but I have been following along.

This is what I have been afraid of. Some will want an officers head over this (and it doesn't matter which one), won't be happy until an officer loses their life. That will feel like "justice" to some. Sad, very very sad.

Did anyone else see the sign from a couple of nights ago? It said : “You’ve Killed Our Kind 4 Years But Won’t Sacrifice 1 Cop For Justice & To Save A Community & These Businesses”

. What do they think this is? Some medieval civilization that "sacrifices" people to appease "the race gods"?

It does to me, as our laws require probable cause be present before someone is arrested, except in places like Durham, NC, where DA Mike Nifong had 3 innocent young men perp walked and finger-printed, as the world watched, in order to win an upcoming election he was losing.

Thankfully, Nifong got what he deserved. But not before destroying 3 innocent young men's lives.

My conversation with a liberal friend:

ME: Do you think that the officer killed Michael in cold blood as they say? Do you think it is fair they are calling him a murderer, even though the evidence that is coming out is all corroborating the officer's version of events as a justifiable shooting?

LIBERAL FRIEND: Well I don't know about any of that, but do you know that the Ferguson Police Department only has 4 African American officers on its force???

I have learned I get nowhere fast when trying to discuss things in any kind of factual way with any of MY liberal friends. (I'd love some liberal friends who can discuss topics intelligently, as there are plenty of intelligent liberals out there, i.e. right here on this board.) I suppose liberals who really watch the news and know what is going on may feel the same way about their conservative friends.

The problem is that 95% of the people get their information from headlines and video bytes. Those that do delve into a topic to find the truth tend to stick with their own favorite new outlets. Fox News is taking the officer's side. MSNBC is practically marching down the street with their hands in the air along with the protestors.

That is seriously sick!

The Grand Jury is composed of twelve citizens who are chosen at random by a circuit judge, who presides over the Grand Jury. A new Grand Jury is chosen for each of the three Terms of Court held each year. Since the St. Louis County Grand Jury meets every Wednesday during the term, a Grand Juror can expect to serve approximately sixteen to twenty days during that period.

I am hoping they aren't brand new.

Yesterday something was posted that there are only three jurors.

I was completely behind the girl at first...

McCulloch: Grand jury to consider Ferguson case through mid-October http://bit.ly/YzxY1Y

Two assistant prosecutors on McCulloch's staff will begin presenting evidence later today to the grand jury in secret, as is protocol. But McCulloch said not all of the evidence is ready to be presented, and he said the grand jury's term that expires in September will likely be extended just for this case.

Surely the rioting will end before then, right?

The number of jurors varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Relative to this case I've heard numerous lawyers state this will have 12.

FWIW, I never heard of only 3, 6 is the smallest GJ of ever heard of.

We had this same "chat" about Trayvon. She's black, I'm white. The only rule we have is to tell the truth, no matter what it is, or how we feel.

Per FOX..LE have heard about plans to kill a cop.

Yay! You heard it too.

I'm sometimes reluctant to post things I've heard on the news without having a link.

Wilson's orbital blowout fracture should be enough for him to shoot to kill because his vision would certainly have been affected and that would be the only way he could defend himself. At the point Wilson's vision was decreased he would definitely have feared for his life. It is possible the shots to the arms were meant for center mass, but visual problems affected Wilson's ability. Bad call by MB!
