You can't post an entire article. I offered ellipses providing that it was not the entire article. I couldn't find anything on a verdict on the slander case did you?

Not sure how he was the subject of a witch hunt, only one of the many accusers was taken to court. At best he was a sloppy administrative executive. Would you want your local M.E. that irresponsible about evidence and human bodies?

Dr. Thomas W. Young, former Jackson County Medical Examiner, also says Parcells isn’t licensed. Over the phone, he affirmed this statement he gave to Kansas City media: “Shawn hung out at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office but was not trained by me. He has been representing himself in a way that is not appropriate by giving forensic pathology opinions when is not qualified to do so.”

Young said he stands by that statement but would not comment further. A search of the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts Licensee and Registrant profile turned up nothing on Parcells. Young’s profile does appear, showing him as a licensed Medical Doctor in Kansas City, Missouri. The profile of Mitchell also pops up.

Efforts to contact Parcells have been unsuccessful.

Seems a bit disingenous then not to thank my post.:)

Your :) makes it difficult to tell if you are serious or not. FWWI I don't generally "thank" a comment that I'm replying to. I either do one or the other...usually.
The padded resume seems troubling, but I don't know much about websites like LinkedIn. The other criticisms may be valid as well, I am not familiar enough with best M.E. practices to discern competently.

However, this reminds me of when nurses and nurse practitioners were taking over duties that doctors used to perform. The AMA and doctors tried to discredit them for years until at some point they made the political decision to let it go. The medical profession is run like a guild, and any change in the pie will be characterized as dangerous or unprofessional by the status quo.

They may not have a bias in this specific case but they do have a monetary incentive to spread doubt on Parcell's work, because it cuts into their bottom line or in the case of Friedlander obscures his own misconduct.

I see the parallel you're making Re: the nurses, but this article references some pretty serious allegations by his "peers." And in many of them, if true, he's breaking the law. Not only in the work he's done in doing autopsies, but he flat out lies about his credentials.

Thank you for posting this, Yoda.

I was looking up stats on the number of officers killed in the line of duty and found this site the other day:

http://www.nleomf.org/facts/enforcement/

•A total of 1,501 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, an average of one death every 58 hours or 150 per year. There were 100 law enforcement officers killed in 2013.

There's lots more info at the site. Well worth reading.

I think a lot of folks don't give a second thought to the service law enforcement provides. I know I didn't - until the terrifying night when my adult daughter was kidnapped and almost murdered by her ex. It's a long story, so I won't go into all the details here. The police rescued her moments before she was dragged to the woods where her ex told her was going to kill her. If not for LE's quick action, my daughter would not be alive today. Half the police force in my daughter's town were out looking for her when the 911 calls came in.

That night was a turning point for me and for our entire family. We have nothing but eternal gratitude and utmost respect for law enforcement.

I'm beyond sick and tired of folks who have an obvious axe to grind or who have a chip on their shoulders - those who use the rare corrupt cop as an excuse to denigrate law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every single day.100 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in 2013. 100.

That's a staggering number. My heart goes out to their loved ones and to the communities they served.

Excellent post, thank you.

Personally, I know to the core that it's risky and highly bizarre to ever entice, engage, enrage, be disrespectful to, to antangonize, assault, or be obnoxious to an officer. We know their job isn't easy. Most officers have the best intentions and take pride in their job. The "hood" taught me a lot of lessons... one of which is not to mess with the police. Walk away instead. Have a cooler head than others around you. Be smart and live. Be productive, work hard against the odds, engage leadership around you and do the right thing.

What does a neighborhood look like that has no police when the police give up? Some have found out. The neighborhood disintegrates and becomes a thing of blight. And we may get to see this here in Fergus*n. I am appalled that some don't understand that. The laws and rules are easy enough to follow. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword. If you want to be a "bodyguard" then you run the risk of carrying a false bravado that may get you killed when you act that role out. If you want to be a bada** criminal and glorify that, then you may find it is no way as glamorous as it is portrayed in the Hollywood outlets they innundate you with. It's a simple cause and effect; for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. Basic stuff here.

I would never challenge a police officer or be disrespectful......nope....not if I want to live. Their bullets could kill me just as someone or anyone else. Bullets are indiscriminate.

Propagandized broad-spectrum anger will destroy a culture. Yep.

Anger and hatred kill just effectively as a bullet, only it takes longer. There's a lot we could all be angry about but really, what is that going to do for you? Nothing. 100% nothing.

Peace within one's heart and a bit of empathy is the only way. And it is more important than I have the ability and capacity to write here.

But I sense some understand.

Wow..

Ok I know I shouldn't complain but I wished it was a zoomed in closer to see what exact action occurred before first shot.

But wow..

You can zoom right on top of it--it is an amazingly clear video for a cell phone video. If you have a Macbook do control and move two fingers up on your mousepad. Not sure how to do it on a PC.

But wow..

The perp and LE were not on top of each other. LE on the street near the curb and perp on a little grass hill across the sidewalk. This needs investigation.

ETA I thought this incident happened inside the grocery store while the man was wielding a knife at officers.

IMO this went way too far. Do LE in Missouri use Tasers? I think this one will be a problem. There was no "bum rush" here.

http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/...cle_9326e02a-2a60-5baa-b63a-9c77b8b81bab.html

Asked whether the officers could have used Tasers, Dotson said Tasers are not always accurate, and Powell was wearing a jacket that could have deflected the Taser probes. Under the department's use-of-force policy, police may use deadly force if an attacker with a knife is within 21 feet, Dotson said.

I'm beginning to feel like this Prosecutor is going to use the GJ as kind of a mini-trial. He has knowledge of now all three autopsies, DNA and I believe toxicology as well. Not to mention video, witnesses to include unnamed witnesses as well. Most witnesses to support the officer are not going on record publicly, yet have gone on record with him.. The outcome of the GJ is of their recommendation and he can stand out of the way if he chooses.

JMO

IA, he's doing it--likely pressured by the GOV IMO--b/c if the GJ doesn't indict, they're off the hook so to speak.

If they do indict, there's no way they'd get a conviction based on the evidence that were aware of now, again my opinion, and I could be wrong.

But even if he's acquitted, this guys life is wrecked. They are rolling the dice with his life to appease the demands of the protestors. Again JMO

But why did the recorder put music over the video preventing us to hear the verbal interaction?

Seriously, why?

Protesters using a Ferguson church as a “safe-haven” allege police harassment #STL http://ift.tt/1BDQKVa

Yeah squatter wouldn't be the correct term but maybe safe haven for the organized activists aka People's Revolution, Communist Party from Chicago and Occupy folks who per reports are there on the ground and tend to be those who incite the riot behavior between police and protesters. Capt Johnson has been trying to clear them out to stop the violence at night along with community leaders. IMO

Anyone watching Anderson 360? The eye witness he is talking to puts a different slant on this story.
