KY3 said they were going to look into any past criminal history.

I read on another site that he only has one record and that was for possession of a controlled substance back in 1990.

That is the thing about pedophiles who suddenly strike. They may not have a criminal history of being a sex offender at all. They can be upstanding neighbors and blend in just like anyone else.

Often pedophiles... who may have had sickening fantasies for years... will wait years until they see a vulnerable child and then they act upon their lust.

MO has the death penalty I believe and if they do this is going to get it.

Prayers for Hailey's family.

I am so angry about this. I mean really livid. Mad at the piece of junk that did this but also angry as to why the Amber Alert took 2 hours to go out. They had a very clear description of the car and the man.If it had gone out right away then maybe that sweet girl would be here with her family. Do we know why it took so long?

Wow....I don't get shocked much anymore when following cases but this has shocked me.

You are right - this is going to get very nasty. How awful for the entire community.

I live here in Springfield and yes the Amber Alert should have been immediately, she was seen struggling with him as he pulled her into his truck!!

Have any of the national news sites carried Hailey's case?

I have been flipping back and forth to see if they are covering this case but so far haven't found one.

yes Missouri does have the death penalty...thankfully. Though I say let him in general population. A sex offender was just called in Jeff City by another inmate. Really hoping that the rumor that is going around is not true. His name is with the school but it could also be another person with the same name.

They are reporting he was an assistant coach and ISS teacher at the middle school. :sigh:

I really wonder what role him being a coach and teacher played in the delay of the Amber Alert, if any. Did LE think that because he had those jobs, he must not have any violence against children offenses, and thus would be unlikely to kill her? Did they think that maybe he was just giving her a ride, and it was just a case of poor judgment? Would an Amber Alert have been given out sooner if he was an RSO?

IIRC they didn't know who he was until he was arrested.
