So what have the websleuths discovered thus far about this man?

I had a busy day at work and did not get to catch up much or comment on this one. Curious what you've turned up so far.

Quick synopsis: he has worked in the school district since 1998, part time until 2006, also as a coach for football, possibly other sports.

He was arrested previously for drugs, but IIRC that was many years ago. He was also arrested for illegally taking a turkey by the wildlife dept. Probably illegal hunting.

He has lived in Ash Grove (where his parents still live) and Springfield.

He is in a blues band.

A lesson that keeps coming to mind, and I taught my kids this, is to back off and run the very moment you suspect something is amiss. Kids who do manage to escape being kidnapped after being grabbed admit they knew something was creepy about the abductor, and felt the urge to run, but didn't want to be rude or look silly. The MOMENT you feel concern, RUN and scream, and don't be afraid of being considered disrespectful to adults or acting like a ninny.

I grew up in the 50s/60s in a quiet, middle-class neighborhood with an arboretum, woods, creek. By the time I was in junior high school I'd heard enough news or hearsay to know sometimes creeps were out there, and to be careful. Or maybe it was just that I had a vivid imagination so was extra alert to possible danger. But my 80-something father only found out in passing last month about the time a guy tried to pick me up while I was walking home from junior high school.

I was 11 and had just started junior high, and missed the bus home. It was a pretty fall day, so I walked home. About 3/4 of the way home, I turned off the main road and was now walking by the arboretum (the outskirts of our neighborhood). A 20-something guy drove up beside me in a completely trashed-out car (cans and papers all over the seats and floor), leaned out the window, and asked me if I wanted a ride home. He was wearing a jumpsuit that reminded me of prison garb (though that was probably my imagination in overdrive here ;)--it was more likely a mechanic's outfit). I said, "No thank you, I'm almost home" to his offer, feeling creeped out immediately.

When he didn't go away but kept trailing me in the car, calling out the window repeatedly, I said, "No thanks, I live right HERE"--and bolted across the street and up the steps and sidewalk of a complete stranger's house. I was all set to lean on the doorbell and start hollering, too, but the guy drove off. So after a short bit, I completed my walk home. Never brought it up to my folks, though to this day I couldn't tell you why. Was I embarrassed? Did I get distracted once I got home and forget to tell them? Did it never occur to me they should know? Who knows?

All this to say, this kind of thing probably is attempted far more often than we hear about...back then as well as now. I wonder how many kids (especially young gals) have had dubious experiences but just never mention it to their folks. I remember my experience vividly to this day, but don't remember arriving home 'sweating bullets' or feeling in any angst the rest of that day. Guess at age 11 or 12 you just figure 'ah well, I handled it, it's over.'

A caller on Nancy Grace said something about putting a big M on him, I guess referring to murderer. I have an idea, how about SOs are branded with a big SO smack dab in the middle of their foreheads so that way little children will know they are monsters!! Seriously, what can be done to stop this?

three hours is a looooong time :twocents:

But it was probably more like 2 since he also hit the laundry mat and used the washer & dryer. If the washer & dryer each ran for 30 minutes, which is still relatively short for both, probably closer to 45-50 min each. JMO

I can hardly even breathe right now-I just want to **** him.

Too much a tolerant society we live in these days.

After reading the news release http://www.news-leader.com/graphics/haileyPCandCharging.PDF

I'm somewhat comforted in knowing she was dismembered or mutilated. Not that what happened to her isn't horrendous and disgusting, but I was expecting much worse when they said they couldn't confirm it was a young female human.

It makes sense since she was bleached and in a plastic storage container, in plastic bags.

Now I'd be even less surprised if he has more victims. Seems like he got things done quickly and was intending to dispose of her all "neat and tidy" :puke:
from what I am reading here she was in the basement inside TWO bags. inside one tote that was under another one containing his personal documents.

she was in TWO BAGS. TWO. people are one piece. :burn:

Never let them out of prison.

Seriously, they aren't rehabilitated. First offense should be live in prison without parole or death penalty.

Would immediately end repeat offenders from being repeat offenders.

I am hoping that just means one from her feet up and one from her head down. At least that is what I want to believe.

Yes 2 bags, she was not in pieces.

I'm so so so sorry for the typo.

Those poor poor witnesses. Their lives with never be the same and they will be haunted the rest of their lives... They'll play the "what if" game...

My hearts go out to them. They tried their best. They are heros. Thanks to them he was caught and will never have the opportunity to do this to another child.

he seems to fly under the radar for now..drug charge 20 or whatever years ago.. and was "mister outgoing" I am sure more will come around.. these things do not happen in a vacuum. :twocents:

It's so strange that we haven't been able to find any social media presence for him. I'm betting that he's out there, but under a different name. Frustrating!

One of the 🤬🤬🤬 pleading in that case murdered my best friend and their son. He doesn't deserve air to breathe most less cold air for comfort. All our prison are making death row easier than general prison grounds. 20 years before they die..... A pretty comfortable 20 years I might add. It's not safe anywhere anymore!

So sorry for the loss of your friend and child. It's shocking to see the privileges available to prisoners.

I'm so so so sorry for the typo.

how do you get into two bags without being in some sort of piece arrangement?

I do see where in the report it was possible that it was a double bag. I hope that is the case.

The reason this will continue to happen is because of our culture that doesn't believe the victim. A child reports that their uncle has been molesting them: At least one or more of the following people will be skeptical of the child's claims, guaranteed: The child's family, LE, a jury, or a judge. When people don't believe what the child is saying, how long of a sentence is the perp going to get? This is a much bigger problem than people want to admit...They just want to blame it on a small group of people...when it's our society that says victims lie, exaggerate, try to get the abuser's side of the story, give him the benefit of the doubt, etc.
