It's really freaky that the cameras listed on the document from the FBI about evidence, are able to be manipulated software wise to see through people's clothing. My husband, who is a techy guy, pointed this out to me a few minutes ago. He said there was actually a special about it on 20/20 or something a few years ago.

I'll bet a lot of the material found was made by him, not downloaded. There are many parks around here, and kids are always walking around playing in nice weather. I think he must have had a huge fantasy life, hence being such a "quiet" person. He was just totally withdrawn from the real world it would seem. Except he obviously was very into his job... So sick.

I plan on attending the memorial tomorrow. Hopefully I can get through it without totally breaking down. It was so difficult today driving past the laundry mat on the way to the grocery store. And everyone here in town wore pink or purple. So tragic, and it happened less than two miles from my home. To think this man lived within walking distance of my own home... ugh.

So it’s no wonder that police agencies in southwest Missouri wonder if there’s anything else in Wood’s past.
In the hours after Wood’s arrest, Springfield-area police agencies began checking files to see if his name popped up in other investigations or if there were any similar unsolved cases.
“That’s one of the first things I checked, to see if we had anything,” said Ash Grove Cpl. Jacob Marler. “Any prior contacts? But nothing. Cold cases of ours with him as a suspect? No we do not.”

Experts say investigators will try to learn if there is something in Wood’s background that hasn’t been revealed yet. They likely will construct a timeline of his activities starting in his teen years, in part to see where he has traveled.

Also can I make a suggestion that those of you that have posted about them go back and delete your posts. The less attention they are given the better. Actually in other missing children cases People were given time outs and the subsequent posts were deleted when this group was brought up.

This is about Precious Hailey, not them! A sweet young innocent child who didn't deserve what she got.

We're both right! :loveyou: According to the Kansas City Star article above, they hired them both. They're partners and are probably sharing the work.



Also, an online search shows his parents have a very large farm outside of Springfield where they breed cattle and horses. The trust fund is likely for passing along the property. On google maps, it looks like they own a very large amount of real estate.

They could perhaps own more land in a family trust under another name such as the wife's family name. Not much money to be made in cattle these days, much less in hobby horses.

And based on the cameras he had, a lot of his victims never knew what he had done. He could have been snapping innocent shots to the average bystander, but with those cameras having the ability to see through clothing... I just can't stomach it. What I want to know is, why is that technology legal? It's clearly designed by and for sexual deviants.

Fox trotters go for several thousand dollars each. Slaughter cattle look to average about $142+ negotiated in MO. Got enough of both, in a family trust, and it'd look mighty fine on paper. If these assets were appraised a few years ago, they'd likely look *lots* better on paper.

IMO, there is a reason he can't afford to own either the truck he drives or the house he lives in without his father. Substitute teaching is intermittent, no benefits at all. After many years, he was hired as a paraprofessional. The pay is low and the benefits are limited at best. He has a bachelor's degree!

Working in schools, especially in the capacities he has had, means he has a lot of time off. Teachers work long hours; aides are out the door when the bell rings. He is free to pursue his other interests on his own time.

But IMO the reason he works at schools in low-paying capacities is because it gives him direct access to children.

He has a bachelor's degree in psychology. Having a bachelor's degree in psychology is not the same as having a bachelor's degree in social work or marketing or education - you're not really taught a set of skills with a BS or a BA in psych. It is very difficult to find a job with only an undergrad degree in psych. Sometimes you luck out and are able to find a job as a caseworker but those jobs are few and far between. People with bachelor's degrees in psych are often considered over-qualified for office jobs, etc. but need a graduate degree to really work in the field. I am, obviously, in no way sticking up for this dude but I just don't find it odd at all that he was doing what he was doing as I know many people who have psych degrees (I was a psych major and no, I'm not crazy as another poster insinuated most people with psych degrees are) who are working at low-paying jobs. It's yet to be seen if he used his job as a means to have direct access to children. I have some thoughts on that but we shall see.

I beg to differ. I've lived in Springfield for most of my life. There is a lot of money in cattle and horses around here.

Based on the criminology courses I took when I was in University granted that was eons ago he is either an anomaly or LE has not found anything as you say yet. As far as I know people like this their behaviour escalates over time, that is part of the thrill they receive.They get away will an act then plan and to go farther and father. I will be truly surprised if at the age of 45 this was his first act.

I believe you are right. When the FBI gets a cyber forensic specialist to look at his computer. Ever "shared file" he download or uploaded. They will get the IP address for them as well. They'll notify the perps in those jurisdictions as pay them with charges as well. Federal charges. CMW's problems are just beginning. Soon will come federal charges. Mom and Dad better hide the checkbook IMO.

According to hubby the tech expert, it's the Sony handycam that is most notoriously used with this software. CMS had two of those. Shudder.

Also it concerns me that he has been a 7th grade football coach for I think they said 13 years. Those cameras and software. And 7th grade boys in the shower after practice and games. A pedophiles dream job. Just scary. I hope I'm wrong.
