ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) – Police in St. Louis canceled an Amber Alert that was issued Monday morning after they said the 911 call was a hoax.

5-year-old at center of Amber Alert does not exist, abduction story was ‘made up,’ authorities say

Oh

My

Gawd!

People are trash, plain and simple. Grrrr, such a waste of resources, this child doesn't even exist. Once again, someone decided authorities would respond faster with more resources if they claimed a child was in the car. I am livid. I hope the "guardian" of said non existent child is prosecuted to the fullest for this false report!
Jesus! With all the criteria that exist for Amber Alerts, you'd think make sure the child actually exists would be part of the process at some stage

That explains why there were no court records for the child's "guardianship". I'm glad they are pursuing charges. I hope the judge gives them the maximum penalty for filing a false report. A huge waste of LE and community time and efforts.

The Amber Alert has since been canceled after detectives learned a child had never been abducted, police said Monday afternoon. The reporting party recanted their story "after an intense investigation," according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

I will just thank God above that there was no child. Hope they prosecuted for this.

Its really bad and what is worrying is that it may put people off reporting genuine cases
Or ignoring alerts, because, "last time I got one of these it wasn't even a real kid"

The fact that the police had to issue a correction of the spelling of a name that isn’t even *real* got me.

Whoever tried this stunt must have something seriously wrong in their head because even a child would have a better grasp on consequences. I mean, what were they thinking would happen after they made the report? — they had to not have been thinking at all. Even Sherri Papini planned beyond “right now.”

This is the description: Aleise is a black female with four ponytails and was last seen wearing a pink "Flower Power" t-shirt and blue shorts. She is described as 2 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 60 pounds.

For the love of God, 2 women told this story, right down to ponytails/clothing etc. I hope they name these women. All over a stolen car which apparently they left running. I pray they don't have actual real life children. IMO
Edit: seems the video isn't available. It was posted here

right? Like what did the idiots think would happen once the car was found? Oopsy, never mind, I forgot, not only wasn't the child in the car after all but she doesn't even exist, sorry bout that 🤷‍♀️ No harm no foul, thanks for finding my car so fast. My bad.

find the car faster, more resources for a car stolen with a young child in it than just taking a stolen car report. These fools had the entire state and the neighboring ones looking for their car because of their false claim of an abducted child. Just infuriating. So many times there is a missing child who does not qualify for an amber alert because there is not enough info about the abductor or the vehicle. And these folks straight up invented a child to get their car found faster. unbelievably stupid.
