MO MO - Janina 'Nina' Vasquez, 27, Kansas City, 12 Feb 2015

  • #41

I'm so sorry I was without internet for a while. Thank you so much.

My pleasure, I sent the info and heard nothing back, not even a conformation that they had received it.
So I sent one more email and asked for just a ultra short conformation that they had received my email.
Shortly after I got a very nice email that they had received my it and that they appreciated it very much but that unfortunately it was not new to them, they already had knowledge of the info.

I can't get the above info out of my head.( Her mother's Facebook page is under her name as referenced in several of the articles referenced previously.) Why would her mother post the above article on her Facebook page after learning of her death if it wasn't a hint? I think there's a lot more to this.

Hope I'm wrong but...also when I look at Nina's facebook page I can't help but wonder where are the responses to her posts. She's got all these friends but few comment on her posts or pictures...It's strange.

I understand what you are saying 100%, Janina may have been involved something like that.
IF her mother know something she should come forward with it, she should contact this amazing New Yorker staff writer Sarah Stillman who has just been awarded a George Polk Award for her article, "The Throwaways," which investigates law enforcement’s unregulated use of young confidential informants in drug cases.

I just watch the whole video-report on the subject, and I AM IN SHOCK, I AM DISGUSTED, I AM SOOOOO ANGRY !!!
I mean what are they thinking??? These are the police for Gods sake, they are the once who are supposed to protect the vulnerable, NOT taking advantage of them, blackmailing kids and young vulnerable people into deadly situations :stormingmad:

Here is a link to the video-report AND TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT WATCHED IT YET WATCH IT !!! It is pretty long BUT make sure to see it to the end, you NEED to know about this!
SO many of those inexplicable murder cases we read about and work on this forum, where young people get killed and no motive is to be found, might have something to do with this problem, and yes Janina's case might be one of them.
The "MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, found burned near her car, Panola County, Dec 2014" is another one that comes to mind:

If she was forced to do this by LE/ Drug Enforcement Agents then they are the ones who sent her to her death and are responsible. Her mom had a reason for posting this article. After any mom found out their daughter had died, I can't see them pulling an article like this out of the thin air in their grief...unless it has a purpose.

Right and I find that SO odd, this horrible and mysterious case should be in the news daily IMO!

Isen't there some WS members who are locals, that could fill us in on what is going on with the case? and contact the media and ask them to put pressure on the LE by writing about the case, interview LE, interview Janina's friends and family etc, look for simelar cases in the area / state etc etc and write about it.

TIMELINE:

Jan/Feb?... Janina had recently moved in to her mothers house in Overland Park, KS (I read that in some news report ca 1 week ago but
can't find it now), and in Janin's Facebook she wrote she used to live in Springfield, MO

Feb 11...Janina Vasquez, 27, left her mother's house in Overland Park, Missouri and texted to say she would stay with 'Allen and Nicole'

Feb 12 ... Evening, footage her leaving the Isle of Capri Casino, got into red car with unidentified person. cellphone last pinged a signal
tower near the intersection of Third and Cherry streets in the River Market area.

Feb 19...Her body found in well in Kansas City, her jacket around her waist, cellphone +ID in her boots. Missing: bra, underwear,
socks,North Face backpack. She had a severe injury to the back of her head and fractures to her wrists. Dead for at least 24 h.

I would like to know exactly WHEN Janina moved from Springfield to Overland Park, and WHY she moved?

Anyone know?

According to Johnson County records, it looks like there might have been a drug bust Janina was involved in. She was never charged in criminal court for this, but appears to owe taxes on a large amount of marijuana seized.

I too don't think it is a coincidence the mother posted that.

Mystery gets deeper.

Janina Vasquez called 911 for help from the bottom of the well. The phone call dropped before first responders could arrive.

“They only spent a few short minutes in the park and they called the search off,” Cochran said. Vasquez’s body was found a week later by a city employee, 25 feet down at the bottom of the flood control well.

“It was several months after her death before the police finally told us,” Cochran said. “(It was) very frustrating. Very agonizing.”

The article also says that the red car she's seen getting into at the Casino is also seen at Riverfront park were she was found.

I can't believe this out isn't getting more attention. A bashed in skull, two broken erists, but she managed to replace the metal grate 25 feet above her, call 911, put her phone back in her boot, then lay down and die. Ok. Sure. Sounds good.

New to this case, so excuse me if this was discussed already.

Was anybody else surprised that all they had for a description of the car was "a red car?" Those images look good enough IMO to get a make and model, which would definitely increase the chances of ID'ing the driver. If they're not good enough, they could go to dealerships and "test drive" cars that look similar and drive them in view of the exact same cameras in similar lighting and they should at the least be able to narrow it down to a few models.

How can they say the call was made from inside the well? Perhaps she was able to dial 911 before she was in the well.

I found a local blog that is not MSM which reported in July of last year about this 911 call. It stated that she told dispatch she was trapped and could only see light from above.

She had to give the dispatch some kind of indication she was in a confined space. I think the police screwed up the investigation and went into CYA mode. Why else would they wait months to tell her mother about the 911 call?

So it sounds like she fell down the well (dumped by another person, or less likely, on her own will) and then was knocked out and broke her wrists from the fall. She then woke up and didn't know where she was at and called 911.

I think this has a lot to do with her death. The lack of criminal charges may mean she was cooperating with LE. That would definitely be a very valid motive in the eyes of a criminal for her to meet her demise.

It would also lend credence to the cops going into CYA mode and saying they don't consider it as a homicide. We all know things get swept under the rug, and an informant ending up murdered in a well sounds like a big problem.

But Jenny Cochran said her daughter had serious physical limitations and could not have hopped a fence and made it past barbed wire to get to the well. The well has a heavy steel grate over it, designed to prevent anything from falling in.

I think those "serious physical limitations" may have been from a car wreck that is referenced in court records from her past. They stated she couldn't make a court date due to a serious car accident landing her in ICU.

Search for case 05JV00966 at http://www.jococourts.org/ for that info. Click on case history and it will show the notes.

This whole thing leaves me with an uneasy feeling. I do not for one second believe she put herself into the well.

How does this case not have more attention? What can we do to bring her mother the closure and Janina the Justice she deserves?

Bump. Just about to fall asleep and was thinking about how much this whole thing makes no sense. How did she end up in that well?

Anytime someone ends up in a closed space like this it just is so likely they were put there. I think you have the best scenario above and she was pushed/dumped there.
