That was my question ~n/t~. Another poster cited an article that said that they baby lives with her mother and father.

Sorry. I'm at work and trying to keep up with the posts and may miss some. You had a good question. lol

I am local to KC also, I live several miles north of this incident, but used to live within just a couple miles. My DH is an electrician (IBEW Local 124) and it is not uncommon for him to have to work at night, as others have said... at Walmart, or in an office building that cannot have downtime during business hours. However, let me say this about the "new job" thing. The local union has had a LOT of men on the books for a LONG time... there are no "new hires".. there are only guys who have been laid off and were waiting for a call-back. AND, with that service truck in the driveway, I am sure he is a long-term employee with a company who's business has just been slow lately. Service Truck drivers are the few and far between of electricians, and it would likely be them that would do a nite job. But, this guy I'm nearly certain is NOT a new hire.. just out on a new job location most likely.
One more thing... a few years back, I had a garage sale, and the following weekend someone stole my dog from the yard. It had been raining and he left his muddy footprints right across my driveway where he opened the gate and took him. I never had any doubt he was taken by one of the "nice neighboryly" people that told me what a beautiful dog I had at my garage sale. If people see something they want, some of the creepy ones will just take it!
I pray for this sweet baby's return... fast... safe... soon!

Mirage....sorry that your poor dog was taken. :( That scenario is why I will no longer do garage sales, Craigslist sales/purchases, or Freecycle. I used to love giving away things on Freecycle.......til one time I left some items on the porch for a person (figured it was safer because no personal contact), and they helped themselves to several items from my neighbors' porch.

Another time we sold some furniture on Craigslist (we were moving so felt ok having someone come to our house)....the guy who showed up was wayyy too interested in our young kids and my husband and I were thoroughly creeped out by the experience. Never again. I would rather give things away to thrift stores than deal with that.

No worries! Just wanted you to know that you were not the only one thinking along those lines. I am still questioning it.

Police say Lisa’s father returned home from work around 4 a.m. to find the child missing and immediately started banging on neighbors’ doors asking if they had seen her.

:waitasec:

My guess is mom was calling 911 while dad woke up neighbors to see if they had seen anything...

oh well that makes sense. the way it was worded made it sound like he was looking for a child who had wandered from the home.

I have such a suspicious mind...I am trying to get better....

If indeed abducted, perhaps someone wanted a baby...and will turn themselves in, even if they have to plead insanity...

I would be running around screaming my bloody head off if I found my baby missing:twocents:

Do we know what time dad got off work?

Police say the baby's mother put Lisa in her crib about 10:30 last night and found her missing when she checked on her at 4:00 am.

another conflicting news story. I think I'm just gonna stop looking.

well, I must say that whatever they have to say is fine by me... so far the media and LE have done an excellent job in getting the story out to the public imhoo

I'm still shocked that they issued an Amber Alert!!! Good for them for not following the ridiculous protocols when it comes to a missing child.

Shall we take bets on how long it takes NG to pick this case up??
If she can pull herself away from MJ, Amanda and DWTS long enough anyway

What a beautiful little girl.

Praying for a good outcome!

If someone abducted her because they wanted an infant, there's a good chance that at least she's safe. However, usually in cases where the suspect just wants a baby/wants to be a parent, the baby is a newborn (that way, to family and friends, there's less suspicion since a lot of the time the abductor has been pretending to be pregnant). With Lisa being 10months old..I'm not sure how the abductor would introduce the baby to family/friends/neighbors/etc. Someone would be suspicious and call the police.
